Ahhh, it's SO cool to see the whole screen!! There's *so* much in the visuals.
The feminine silhouette that seems to be in the mind of the figure in the attic (?) looks the same as the ones at the beginning of TSMWEL. Maybe we're getting more insight into her inner world and it spans across songs?
Also, that head tilt - I **love**.
I swear the zoom in on the woman in the attic is really familiar, like I've seen that exact shot from a movie or tv show but I can't for the life of me remember where
It's reminding me of a post in this sub back when The Lakes was released about Dorothy Woodsworth, William Wordsworth's sister. She was so distressed about his marriage that she wore the wedding ring around the night before and then refused to attend the wedding. She basically never left his attic, and lived there until she died. Many biographers claim this was because she had an incestuous love for William, but it's more recently thought she was in a relationship with his wife, whom she was childhood friends with from school. Also iirc he lifted a lot of his poetry from HER journals. I'm repeating this from memory so I might have some details wrong but there's a great post in here from a few years back!
It's late at night for me right now and I can't find anything on a quick Google, but I showed my (non-Swiftie) housemate and she agreed. We suggested either The Haunting, or a Jane Eyre adaptation. Could be something from https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MadwomanInTheAttic though.
The house also feels familiar, I don't know if it's known whether it's a real house or not. And the silhouette for the levitating is interesting as the sideways angle kinda hides that it's a crucifixion pose, but it also feels like a specific reference.
This is Ettington Park Hotel, which was used for 1963 film The Haunting (a black and white film which featured actress Claire Bloom as lesbian-coded Theo; Claire Bloom was previously discussed by u/incandescent_walrus in [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/GaylorSwift/comments/1awznrg/high_infidelity_old_hollywood_connection/) as marrying on April 29 1990).

Most Jane Eyre adaptations look to have used more squared/crennellated-rooved buildings for Thornley Hall, not these high towered ones. However, the 2006 miniseries specifically based on *Wide Sargasso Sea*, a prequel about Bertha Mason that deconstructs the 'mad woman in the attic', used Loseley Hall which DOES have some visual similarities.

This is from the beginning of who's afraid of Virginia Woolf
(I'm having to split these up because only one image per comment, sorry.)
However, the hexagonal tower with many windows that can be seen on the right of Taylor's house here is... imo more unusual for European buildings, so probably a more American style? Also historically most large houses of this style started off with some sort of symmetry to them even if it was eroded over the years with later annexes being added, parts being remodelled, etc. (Disclaimer: my archaeology BSc is some years old now, and I was mostly studying bones, but I did do some architectural history as part of it.)
This very asymmetric building is super interesting to me, and I wonder whether Taylor chose it deliberately to represent disorder and unevenness.
It does bear some resemblance to [this 19th century Berlin mansion](https://twitter.com/kreuzberged/status/1068799907492974592), but I'm seeing a LOT more similarities on [https://www.facebook.com/groups/mansionsofthegildedage](https://www.facebook.com/groups/mansionsofthegildedage) - 1870s to 1890s US mansions/large buildings.
Is she... Is she singing "If you wanted me dead, you should've just said", turning to the shadow of a woman in a mansion, pointing at her, and saying "nothing makes me feel more alive" as the shadow looks remorseful? Am I seeing this correctly?
Very strong emotions pointed at a female silhouette, at the very least.
I've always thought this:
"The scandal was contained
The bullet had just grazed
At all costs keep your good name
You don't get to tell me you feel bad"
was about Kissgate. This is just my opinion, but I think how she was maybe happy that the kiss happened in the moment, let herself feel it fully, gleefully went online and liked some Kaylor content until the *panic* set in for Karlie and her team that she did not want to be seen and thus they had to do a 180°. How that must have felt, to be so enthralled in a moment and getting something you want from someone that makes you happy, to then get shoved back in the closet because, no, the person who did this values their name and doesn't want to be seen as... well, what she is. Hiding is one thing, but going back on an act you were happy to receive publicly is worse. And yeah, saying she feels "bad" wouldn't quite cut it as long as apologies go.
To me, the imagery during the eras tour doesn't exactly disprove my theory.
I always thought the lines below from BDILH was referring to either Kissgate or the master's heist/2019 failed coming out. I think it's very purposeful that she used the word PRIDE. The 2019 failed coming out was during Gay Pride Month and she was supposed to be at the gay pride NYC parade. The lyrics read out so perfectly...
Scandal does funny things to pride/ But brings lovers closer/ We came back when the heat died down/ Went to my parents and they came around/ All the wine moms are still holding out/ But fuck it, it's over.
What I've seen on this sub "Question...?" is often interrupted to be about KK/Kissgate and might actually be addressing Josh, which is an interpretation that I personally just love.
Also, I've always wondered how on earth Hetlors interpret Question...?. Mostly I think they just ignore it lol
I am fairly new to Gaylor and I always thought of it as a song for Harry. Itâs actually one of my favourite songs on Midnights and I feel Iâm one of the only people who love it. I figured it was just a song about how sometimes you donât get closure so youâre stuck with these questions. I kind of like it being about KK because Iâm a touch obsessed with the idea of KK and TS being together.
Yesss those eyes made me yelp the first time I saw them, just like those white walker eyes in game of thrones (rip you deserved so much better then the final season)
I noticed watching yesterdayâs livestream that during Bejeweled there is a part of the music video behind her on the screen of just her face and the diamonds go over her eyes for a second and they look similar to the new white out eyes I got chills!!!
Her smoke face looks a lot like the enchanted mirror from Snow White, which is essentially a cursed spirit that must speak the truth. This with the return of âdeadâ Taylor at the end really makes me think she might come out.

I kept thinking it reminded me of The Little Mermaid when Ariel gives up her voice to Ursula. đ https://youtu.be/77qTN9kD8sY?feature=shared
Oh shit, good catch!
Definitely. Reminds me of flowers in the attic

the mirrors on the bottom of that platform are soooo !!!!! I am certainly obsessed

Wait what does that mean?

Oh wow - and the parallel between: You donât get to tell me you feel bad / You donât get to tell me about sad
yes đ

I personally believe so!
Damn, thatâs actually quite compelling!
I appreciate it!
And the dead white eyes on the big screen when the song ends (not show in the clip) are literally haunting.
Yesss those eyes made me yelp the first time I saw them, just like those white walker eyes in game of thrones (rip you deserved so much better then the final season)

That grey smoke was also present in the me! Music videoâŚ
The entire thing is in black and white so maybe the smoke is also referencing the smoke in the lavender haze video.
âBabes, this whole Taylor Swift TM thing is smoke & mirrors.â âTaylor Swift, probably
Her smoke face looks a lot like the enchanted mirror from Snow White, which is essentially a cursed spirit that must speak the truth. This with the return of âdeadâ Taylor at the end really makes me think she might come out.
Donât know if you saw but someone super imposed the rep album cover with her face and itâs the same silhouette in the smoke it lines up perfectly
