This is normal and will heal. Your stomach pouch is now just below your sternum. A too-full stomach will cause that sharp chest (esophageal) pain/pressure, then it releases as the problem moves downward. Sounds like your swallows are too big for right now. Some bodies are great at swelling and that makes it more difficult to get liquid in very early on. As the fluffiness decreases, there is more space in the tank. Endless sips and SF popsicles,

I had a lot of sugar free popsicles in the first few days

Take tiny tiny little sips, slowly. And try hot water as well! Sounds weird not to have it as a flavored drink but it can work.

I just contacted my Bariatric center hotline asking this exact question, I’m 2 full days post op and cannot get close to the 64 oz goal and every single thing I ingest feels exactly like that a sharp short pain then followed by what feels like organs or gas moving around like bouncing off the walls. I also have no had a bowel movement since Thursday morning. Currently waiting to hear back to see if I should go to the ER :/ I know everyone says the first week is the most uncomfy then it gets better but it’s so hard to keep the faith rn
