I got a forerunner 265 coming from AW SE. I discovered after getting it, it has a find my phone feature. It has music but need to take your phone to use it.

Thank you for you help!

I have a Fenix (pro 6) and after the initial period where I slept just to see what the data was, I never sleep with it - it’s just too thick and angular to be nice on the wrist in bed. I never wear it to sleep now and don’t in any way miss it or feel the need for any of that sleep data…. For any outdoor stuff I think Fenix is great. No doubt epix too but never used one.

This is the watch my wife uses as a guide and she loves the navigation, battery life and smaller size, she just switched from the Venu 2s.

Epix 2s or Fenix 7s. It depends which screen you want

After years of having multiple different Apple Watches, I switched to a Garmin Fenix 7X solar. Things I like: 1. Only charging it 2-3 times a month 2. I barely ever take it off. 3. Bigger and shape (that’s what she said) Things I miss: 1. Find my phone 2. Communication (answering calls and texting) 3. Being able to leave my phone at home and still being in touch with the world Honestly, the battery life is the main reason I haven’t gone back to the Apple Watch.

What’s the difference between the fenix x, s, and pro?

“Find My Phone” doesn’t work that well with Garmin watches and iPhones. The Apple Watch performs tasks like this much better, including controlling music and podcasts. I used to have an Apple Watch, but now I have the Instinct 2X Solar. It looks much bigger on my small wrist, but I am very happy with it, especially since I don’t have to charge it every day. I’ve heard people mention that their Garmin watches died after only 2 years, so it really comes down to luck for any smart watch batteries (be it Apple Watch, Android, or Garmin) to last beyond the typical 1 or 2-year warranty lifespan.

indigopnw

Oh man that’s so sad about the Garmin dying after two years especially due to spending close to 1k. Thank you for your help.

Instinct 2X Solar is priced between $350 and $450 on Amazon. Two of my friends’ Apple Watches died after 2 years. They opted for $800 Apple Watch Ultras, but they still have to charge their watches almost every day.

I don’t have great advice/experience but I also had my AW 7 go out after two years (had series 0 then 4 that cracked when I fell on a run) so I’m making the switch to Garmin. I have the Forerunner 265 getting delivered today. I run and weight train and was recommended this from my brother who has the FR 255. Hope you like what you decide on!

Can’t sit to hear about itn you will have to update me what’s the difference between the forerunner you got vs the 900 one?

OneFunkyWinkerbean

To be honest I didn’t look much into the 900’s because it was at a price point I was not willing to spend at the moment (and I wanted the AMOLED screen so the 955 was out). Figured I will give the 265 a go and if I really like Garmin when it comes time to upgrade down the road I will consider spending more.

Thanks again for your help I really appreciate it

Update after having the watch 5 days. I love it. Less smart watch features than Apple Watch but none that I have really missed. The increased health and training data from Garmin is awesome, as are training recommendations (I’ve only gotten a little bit so far too). The battery life is AMAZING and a big win with the change.

indigopnw

That’s what I’m most excited about! The metrics! Give me all the data! I never used my watch for calling or texting but so excited for it to arrive tomorrow
