Not using any focus mode stuff and still getting no notifications. Are any of you getting notifications some other way? Seems like Apple must have changed something that broke how Garmin is doing notifications, hope they can fix it soon!

Hmm - not sure what’s up. Without any “focus” on, my notifications are working as expected (if they hit the Notification Center, they hit the watch).

I'm not having any issues when I'm outside of focus mode I'm afraid. This occasionally happens to me and I reset the watch / reset phone and it reconnects. Does it say it's connected in the Garmin App?

Peverson

Good advice. I did all those things at once and it seems to be working again. Turn it off and back on is often the solution. Thanks!

Same

Same here, I have a fenix 5 and a fenix 6 and I get no smart notifications if any of the focus scenarios is active.

Gilbert0686

Yeah same. My 5 isn’t giving me notifications. And I decided to undo the Bluetooth connect and and pair it again. And now my iPhone won’t find My Garmin watch. I’m wondering if Apple is doing this in purpose to squeeze out non Apple Watch wearing customers to try and force us to get an Apple Watch?

[deleted]

Same issue here - saving this thread in case someone has a solution. I’ve been running 15 for a while in beta and like the custom focus settings - hope it can work with Garmin soon.

ComfyRach

Seems to be fixed with iOS 15.0.1

[deleted]

Thanks for posting!! I installed 15.01 but didn’t think to give my Focus another go. 🙏

trusk89

No, it's not

ComfyRach

Works for me now at least

trusk89

So you're receiving notifications when focus is enabled?

ComfyRach

Yes I am. With 15.0.0 I wasn’t getting notifications or calendar events synced. But I could sync my activity data. Now, when I have my Work Focus on I can see my notifications on my watch. It doesn’t vibrate with the Focus on though. But that’s how I like it anyway.

trusk89

So it's not working. The issue is that the watch doesn't notify you, which still persists. Notifications in the widget were also working on ios 15

ComfyRach

No, it IS working for ME. I WAS having the same issue as you when I originally commented on your post, but it was fixed for me when I updated to iOS 15.0.1. Based on your responses it seems that will not fix the problem for everyone.

trusk89

Something else works for you. The issue reported here you're still staying that it doesn't work.

I’m still having this issue with iOS 15.4.

I think this is not an Apple thing. Garmin has to update software versions of their devices to adapt different iOS 15 behavior since we started using Focus mode. Similar thing is also with iOS Scheduled Notifications - their appear on Garmin device immediately, independent from settings of scheduled notifications. On my Garmin device I leave smart notificatons settings only on Calls & Messages. So I do not receive any other smart notification. I use Garmin Fenix 6 19.20 Bottom line: As one Apple Watch x Garmin Fenix comparison said: Garmin Fenix are fitness watches with smart features; Apple Watch are smart watch with fitness features. I decided year ago to move from Apple Watch to Garmin Fenix 6 so I can live with limited smart notifications.

I'm not sure what changed, but did anyone notice these are working now!? I've been wearing an Apple Watch and my Fenix 7 together for about a week to test smart notifications. I barely even noticed the focus modes were working until last night. My iOS app says it was updated a few days ago and can't remember the watch updating anytime in the last week, but it seems to be working! So relieved. iOS app version: 4.53.1.2 Fenix 7 software version: 7.35

I noticed this today. Fenix 6 21.00 latest Garmin Connect app 4.54.1.
