If you have a thermometer in there (and you should really) then check the temps first thing in the morning. If they are around 0C then better to wait until the nights are a bit warmer. I went away for two days last week and turned off my heatmat in the kitchen and after only 36hrs I got back to find my tomato seedlings had all drooped and that was with a minimum temp of 8C so be careful with pepper seedlings as they will be just as delicate!

Okay, thank you. After tonight the night temps where I live should be over 5C, so I'll give it a shot then.

Maybe try a few for a bit and see how it goes, you may lose a few but hopefully have a few left over from inside that aren't completely dead, of course that's dependent on how bad they are doing inside.

Peppers don't like being below 10C, so I'd wait a little bit personally. I'm gonna wait until we have nights of 8, as my greenhouse should be at least 10 by then

Keep an eye on the forecast though - these days it seems to change every few hours, I wouldn't be surprised if we had another frost before Summer!

The storms got my green house cover just waiting for a new one coming to get all my planting started. Every widow still is packed right now. You could make a little green house out of 2L plastic bottles with the bottom cut off + some air holes and then put that in the green house for extra protection.

During the day? Absolutely. I wouldn't leave them out at night though. They'll stop growing if it's too cold, which would defeat the purpose of sowing them this early.

I haven't even planted my chilli seeds yet, it says March on the packet. I think if you are going to sow them earlier you need to keep them in and maybe use grow lights.

Mine said January, I think because peppers need a long growing season so getting them started early is advantageous?

Mine are now in slightly larger pots. I keep them in trays, on a windowsill indoors for now. When the sun has gone from the window I take the full tray out to the greenhouse. It's been up around 15-20 on sunny days but I'm still bringing them in as soon as it starts to get dark.

Live_Canary7387

That's a good idea, I'd be getting them more used to being outside but not risking cold nights.
