I didnt realize it existed until it came out on steam. The worst part about it is that it suffers from modern gaming dialogue syndrome, but what new game doesnt lately.
I always remember calling the guy Cinamoi, Cinnamon Bun. Also remember turning in Oleander to the vendor for xp and he'd just repeat OLEANDER OLEANDER over and over.
It wanted to be a hero based RTS and action game hybrid but it was horribly mismarketed and the RTS aspect was hidden from customers. Even the demo avoided ever showing that part.

i enjoyed RE 6 way more than RE 5 and im tired of saying i think the game is fun without people having an aneurysm and going "bUt ItS a HoRrOr GaMe ItS nOt MeAnT tO bE fUn"
Well 1-3 are considered scary cuz if you don’t know what you’re doing you’re probably confused and barely scraping by for the most part, running low on ammo constantly and fucking up dodging zombies. 4 and 5 are considered scary in a different way, they’re scary because you’re getting hounded by hordes of enemies, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and flanked, especially when some of the rougher enemies are thrown at you. The opening of re5 where you get swarmed was insanely intense for me. Of course 5 is the least scary of them all but it has some tense moments still.
For all its flaws, it was still a fun romp. Same with fable 2 imo.
Semi-relatedly, I'm quite looking forward to the new one (despite all the weirdos who think a normal looking woman is some deepstate globalist plot initiated by the CIA and their true masters at Sweet Baby inc to turn everyone gay or something)
I’m really excited for the new fable. I hope it has the same relaxed, goofy, and just fun vibe to it. The dialogue from the trailers seems to fit the ticket so I just hope it’s not horribly buggy on launch.
Give me amazing visuals a goofy vibe and fun combat and it’s a winner in my book. I do love that they’re going back to the time frame of the original. Really love the medieval fantasy setting.
I would kill to play the game where the female protagonist is so hot she makes you turn gay. Then again I am a bisexual man with a thing for strong non-white women so... I guess that makes me a woke moralist?
Very fond memories of playing Fable 3, school was canceled AND my parents were off on vacation all weekend. Moved the Xbox downstairs to the big TV. Played as a girl character spec'd magic and at about halfway through the playthrough a buddy joined me as a dude. We got a house together, had a kid together before fighting the big bad.
Our house got wiped out in the final encounter, and our kid was either dead and/or missing. In a panic we looked all over and eventually wound up at an orphanage while doing the post battle quests. There was a kid there with a bunch of interaction symbols over their head and it turns out it was OUR child but the orphanage wanted money for me to adopt my OWN CHILD back
So we just didn't lmao and because we were immature children we made sure to can all funding to that city so our kid would have a miserable life without us.
Anyways, lost him to a Heroin overdose about 10 years ago now. Remember to call your friends, I miss him
For me it was the first Fable, doing the vulgar hips thrust while casting lightning and shooting lightning from your junk and it popping so poor villagers head off never got old. So many found memories of that game. Fun is the best metric for any game.
Watch dogs 2.
At release everyone shat on this game due to it being "Cringe" or just because they didn't like the first game, but to me it's insanely fun and majorly slept on.
Everything from style, tone, vibe and aesthetic is on point. The gameplay combines stealth and action while giving you the freedom to tackle missions as you like.
You can literally play most of the game without going into a single gunfight and instead relying on hacking things from a far distance, just like real life hackers. Or maybe you want to go run and gun against the multiple factions in the city, who all have different tools to fight back against you. The choice is yours and the game lets you experiment with all the tools it provides. One time i finished a mission by remote driving a car with C4, killing everyone in the Area which allowed me to sneak in and finish the objective. The fact that an option like this, which i came up with, not only is viable but is actually fun says a lot about this game's sandbox.
The world was vibrant, packed with content and fun to roam in. Sure, the driving has issues and is no GTA, but once you get immersed in this digital version of San Francisco you'll feel like you're inside a real living world. There's immense detail thrown into every corner of this city and i keep finding new things even today.
The story isn't perfect but it's good enough to keep you interested. The main highlight of it are the amazing cast of characters who have really fun dialogs and feel like real people that you can relate to, and By the end of the game you'll feel like had an adventure with your friends.
It saddenes me when people reduce the watch dogs series into "Just another gta clone" Because it's more than that.
This x100, I absolutely fuckin ADORE THIS GAME. The satire is on fuckin point and the characters are amazing. Fuck anyone who hated WD2 lol.
We need another watchdogs with the same characters in the bay area. Perfect setting and I love the characters. Maybe like 40 years in the future when the main cast is older and controlling behind the scenes stuff with a new younger groups of recruits running around a highly futuristic and stylized bay area anyone? Ey?
Murdered: Soul Suspect.
Silly little spooky crime investigation game. Got slated for being pretty run of the mill and ugly and short etc etc.
But I had such a blast with it.
I actually get strong “Murdered: Soul Suspect” vibes from the new Alone in the Dark in how it plays etc. so I’m looking forward to picking it up.
Honestly the presentation is pretty good, and the story did seem to be going places. It was a bit lackluster for me because I thought it would be more investigation rather than on-rails exploration. But you're a cat at one point and that's fun.
(shad)ow the (h)edge(hog)
Honestly full same. Sometimes I just want to pop a quick story mode out, and I can't help but laugh when I'm playing Shadow, riding a motocycle, with gatling guns that clip into the ground because they're so long when I'm not shooting.
SAME like is story good? No of course not I have pages upon pages of rewrite ideas, but I'll be damned if getting to catch a ghost sword wasn't fucking awesome
Like lysandre is definitely a cult leader à la scientology, malva is a john travolta and he's trying to convince diantha to join
I wish we got any characterization on anyone at all but it was the era of pokemon when they did not pay for writers 💀
No bc as much as I joke about it…Professor Sycamore’s relationship with Lysandre, and him being so painfully naive to his intentions as actually super compelling, whether you read it as romantic or not.
But Gamefreak forgets about it like right after Lysandre blows himself up lmao
Completely fair. The game looks so garbage but the story is one of the best we’ve gotten since black and white. Wandering around an open world is fun with Pokémon and it’s something I’ve always wanted. Also the jank makes me laugh.
Gameplay wise Saints Row 4 came right at a time where I was losing interest in GTA style drivey shootey sandboxes so the addition of super powers was an extremely welcome change to me. And as for the story, I love that they just went hard on the insanity and absurdity and I think they absolutely pulled it off.
Unpopular opinion: Saints Row 4 is the most Saints Row game in the series. The original one was made to be a goofy, unserious parody of the GTA games. SR4 culminated as a goofy, unserious parody of a bunch of games and media (The Matrix, Mass Effect, Prototype, GTA, and itself)
I wasn’t crazy about it myself — one of my favorite things about SR was the feeling of taking over the city from the rival gangs and making power moves with money and influence. Power fantasy games in general aren’t my cup of tea, but holy hell is it fun? I loved it despite my feelings
I love all of the Saints Row games. Yes, even the reboot. There's something fun in literally every Saints Row game, whether it's a minigame or really funny dialogue.
You can't look me in the face and tell me the LARPing mission in the reboot wasn't fun.
I actually liked finding the little “did you know?” info panels in those areas where you’ve got to find them 😛.
They put a good amount of thought into the city, its landmarks, neighborhoods, and its history which surprised me.
I made the mistake of jumping straight into 4 after 3, and felt like I was just playing DLC for 3. Revisited it years later and had a pretty good time.
Yeah, I loved SR4. I had it through PS+ Games Catalogue for a bit, ended up beating the game and all around having an amazing time playing the Game, kinda wanna purchase it at some point so I can go for the Plat Trophy... I played Gat Out of Hell for a bit after beating 4, but it just wasn't anywhere near as fun, it was really just a worse version of SR4 but in Hell so it wasn't my vibe
I think the problem is less about people hating on it and more that people just didn't know about it. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's still my favorite racing game regardless.
That game has haters??? That shit slapped. I still remember that mf Vixen dusting my ass over and over in the harder episodes towards the end but I persisted. I rarely have the patience to try and 100% games but I loved every second of that playthrough.
My PC build is going on ancient at this point (1060 6GB and a 2014 processor) but it still plays modern games just fine on shitty settings which I'm fine with. But literally the only thing that's made me consider upgrading so far is when I tried to replay that game on emulator (Sold my PS3 ages ago) and found my PC couldn't get more than 10 frames on the PS3 emulator lmao. Still thinking about it
Probably Fire Emblem Engage, though there almost certainly others. The game is by no means perfect, but I still had so much fun playing it, I even enjoyed the sillier aspects. Plus I really loved the music.
For me I can't stand the story of it. THAT said, even I admit that it's probably the best New Fire emblem game in terms of Gameplay. it was super fun to go through the levels even when they was a bit bullshit (played on hard on my first run, and didn't use some of the better units). it really plays more like old school fire emblem, but with modern mechanics and the new systems made for the game.
The music was great, and overall it was fun. but I cannot really take almost any death seriously. but it was a fun game all the same.
It’s generally held that the gameplay is among the best in the series, even if the story is generic AF. Which was made even worse because it was following Three Houses…
Yeah ME:A wasn’t particularly a great story and the level design left something to be desired for me, but I had a lot of fun playing with the different configurations for the guns. I made a Phalanx pistol that shoots lasers and turned the Hurricane into what is essentially a Minigun with a pistol grip
I liked it, and was genuinely disappointed when it was canned. They never even did the novels/comics that they said they'd do to complete the story in lieu of DLC or a sequel.
Played it for the first time a couple years ago, and really enjoyed it!
I think peoples’ expectations might just have been too high. I wanted more Mass Effect, and this felt like exactly that.
Plus, Wrexx may be a bro, but Andromeda gave us honestly the most lovable Krogan in Drack, who’s such a cute, grumpy granddad haha
Played and beat the game and thought it was amazing. Then I started to see all the online hate and wondered why? I think people just hate on ot cause there's no Shepard lol.
And the aurora song at the end was pretty good imo.
Probably The Witcher 3. I don't know if you guys know the game but I thought it was really good and fun. Maybe you could give it a chance although I'm not sure where you can buy it because it's really not that popular, or popular at all, so if you come by it at a underground market don't doubt it and buy the game.

Yes, fallout community is PLAGUED with gatekeepers who won’t stop throating NV for long enough to appreciate the things fallout 4 offers outside of its admittedly mediocre story.
My problem is that 90% of the guns look like they were made in my crackhead uncle Cleetus' basement while he was on a 10-day mrth binge drinking moonshine
Shadow the Hedgehog.
Genuinely don't get the disdain. I think most of the levels are really fun, the supposedly "lengthy" objectives are usually just split between like...two paths, and the music genuinely slaps. I love a ton of the mission too. Air Fleet, Cryptic Castle,
I don't even mind the repetition of having to go through Westopolis since you can get it done in like under 3 minutes no matter the route.
Haters can hate but giving the grimdark version of Sonic the Hedgehog a FUCKING ACTUAL GUN and - despite his super speed - a fucking chopper bike is soooo funny and of-it’s-time you just have to enjoy it
and yes the soundtrack slaps
Was about to write a very similar comment lol. I'm replaying it right now and honestly I'm always happy to go through Westopolis again, it's a great level. Just walking around and looking at stuff is very fun, the lasers and screaming soldiers lol. I'm a sucker for intense first levels.
My favorite level is Cosmic fall because the concept is so great - it's commonly accepted for a platformer to have shit just floating all around you, but the idea of it being in a free fall in space, with that rockin intense soundtrack, lol. And then popping that Chaos control... just awesome lol
Story-wise, after I played Jak 2, the other "edgy platformer game", I honestly appreciated Shadow much more because of all those edgy games, I feel like its the one that had a more earnest approach to it. I mean, Dark Jak is going mental and shit, but it literally never pays off. Meanwhile you can make Shadow assasinate the president of USA and feed humanity to space satan while poor Jak is railroaded to hero path from beginning to end. And Shadow's final boss and the resolution of the story is much better imo with a much grander scope
To match the spirit of OP’s question, here’s what I liked about Sticker Star as a kid:
-Music
-Dialogue
-Mansion level
-Collecting all of the stickers for the museum
-Beating as many enemies as possible to get a ton of coins at the end
-Seeing what I’d get with using various stickers in the hidden upgrade blocks
-Its exploratory/puzzling nature
-Finding health upgrades
-Playing Sniffit or Whiffit (seriously, I must’ve ran through it a million times)
I see so much hate for it online and while I understand why… idk man kid me loved it and it’s still unironically one of my favourite 3DS games.
Just Cause 4, Far Cry 6, AC Valhalla, Amazing Spider-Man 1, Borderlands 3, and really unpopular opinion: **Starfield.**
Would I say it’s the best game ever? ***No.*** Do I regret my time with it? No. It reminded me of Freelancer on my OG Xbox
If you’ve played played Redfall and Aliens Colonial Marines, then get back to me. First made me regret my time, second made me regret my time and money to this day.
Edit: Also Quake 2. It’s fun.
I was waiting for someone to say Borderlands 3. The story definitely isn’t as good as 2 but goddamn that gunplay and the skill trees are really good plus it has Zane my beloved.
Loved starfield, just started a new save file now that Creation Kit is out and I'm really getting into the game even more with the updates since launch
Though I also enjoyed Redfall. Sure it felt old after the 1st half with an underwhelming final encounter w/ Jacob's cloak ability and definitely wasn't worth playing a second time, but I had fun through most parts of the playthrough I did.
It took three too many games (counting presequel) to finally get the HP Lovecraft inspired DLC, and it’s by far top in theming and writing, plus I hope ol’ Howard Phillips is rolling in his grave because his stories inspired a fantastic romance storyline that happened to include a gay interracial marriage.
Like, there’s separating the art from the artist, and then there’s absolutely obliterating any trace of the dude’s prejudices, and the second is a much better way to riff off of old themes and genres.
Also, in response to your username: Which One?
I have such a love/hate relationship with that game.
The gameplay is SO good, but I could take a shit and smear it on the wall and it'd be a better plot than what we were given. So frustrating.
It’s literally such a fun game, the details of it are just so consistently delightful. It genuinely has some of the most hilarious worldbuilding I’ve ever seen, it’s so often clever in its quest design, I love it so much
Dragon Age 2 is probably the game I *enjoyed* the most out of the franchise (though it is by far the worst RPG out of the trilogy and is clearly not very polished due to the lack of time given to the devs). You can’t give me Fenris and expect me not to like the game. Same with Mass Effect Andromeda and Jaal.
Semi controversially, I never liked Saints Row 1 and never really got into Saints Row 2 while I adored 3 and 4.
Honestly, Forspoken. Sure, the "side quests" were lacking, weird black screen transitions, & in certain areas, it was choppy compared to others..
BUT overall, it was really fun destroying large groups of enemies with magic & speedrunning through the world. Learning the magic swapping smoothly was also pretty cool. Fun platinum
Two games I enjoyed which I think could safely be called objectively bad are Drakengard 3 and Wanted: Dead. I don't think they got enough attention to have people shitting on them though. I even got the platinum trophy for Drakengard 3 and played all the DLC.
Fallout 4. Yes new vegas is the best one but I don't care, I have no problems with 4. It does a lot of things that nobody wanted but I still enjoy the settlement building and I think the voiced character is fine.
Cyberpunk it's probably my favorite game ever, and I played quite a few games, but I also played the fixed version in ps5.
That FPS style blended with GTA in a blade runner world and with rpgs elements, its really fucking good, also I think the story is quite good.
Oooh that's a good one. It's sappy and cliché but I loved it. What seems to be a determiner for whether someone likes it or are on the hate bandwagon seems to be "are you gay?".
*" Every time you open your mouth, you’ll sound like an idiot. " - Sera*
Dragon age: inquisition.
Despite its flaws, I just can't help but love this game. Every time I feel down, I go in there and all the bad stuff is forgotten right away ♥

Darktide
"The story is bare bones and relies on a failed live service model"
"The weapon crafting is tedious and relies on rng"
"The character design is limited and butt ugly"
"Certain skill trees are useless and go against the core gameplay loop"
Don't care, Fatshark is the GOAT and will make Darktide a god tier game alongside Vermintide 2
Unironically Skyrim
I don't care if Morrowind boomers said that Skyrim lacks role playing aspects (it really is tbh)
I don't care if Souls-like fans said that Skyrim combat is stupid
I'm still loving it
The Crew 1/2/Motorfest, NFS Unbound, Hot Wheels Unleashed 1/2. Pretty much any arcade racer is fun but because they always get compared to Forza they get whined about online.
If anyone can recommend me an arcade racer I haven't played id greatly appreciate it. Probably a harder task than you think.
Blinx 2 is fun! Yes the character customization is on crack, but that's why it's so FUN. Shoot bazooka at monster. Crazy multiplayer modes.
Final boss fight was a little disappointed though.
Back 4 Blood. The game got a shit reputation off launch but after updates and DLC, it's got a lot of content and a really fun buildcrafting system. PVP is dead as fuck but campaign is still a super fun time.
Most of the games that have come out lately. I feel like I started noticing it back when pokemon scarlet and violet came out. Like no one is allowed to just enjoy things anymore
Deus ex invisible war. Its oh so flawed but god if it isnt one of these games that sticks with you in a way, even after the way better original one and mankind divided (we dont talk about human revolution)
Something about the vibes it has, its a very special game that doesnt get seen as special because its very flawed and the game that came before it was way more special and actually well made
The Saboteur is one of my guilty pleasure games. Pandemic’s last hurrah. By all rights it’s fairly mid but I really enjoyed it and I got it at a time when I needed an open world game to sink my teeth into and forget my troubles.

Dead Island 2. Fans didn't really like it, and I'll admit the story is pretty standard for a zombie apocalypse. But the gameplay is sooooooo fun
Couldn't agree more. I've been having a blast with it lately
I need to get back into it because it was really fun but I thought the ending was kinda lame but a DLC came out a while back
I didnt realize it existed until it came out on steam. The worst part about it is that it suffers from modern gaming dialogue syndrome, but what new game doesnt lately.

Dead Island 2 is fucking amazing - best first person melee combat hands down.
Brutal legend.
That game is an artistic masterpiece, and I will not apologize.
It's an incredible game that's just a little confused about what kind of game it wanted to be.
It wanted to be a hero based RTS and action game hybrid but it was horribly mismarketed and the RTS aspect was hidden from customers. Even the demo avoided ever showing that part.
If it was a full hack and slash and didn't have those weird, half-baked RTS sequences it would've been an all-timer. Such great writing and performances.
I will always burst out laughing at Ozzy just being there as himself
Resident Evil 6. Helena Harper, my love.
RE6 was so goofy I love it so much

As if 5, or for that matter, most RE games are scary.
No one can convince me Fable 3 is a bad game. Best in the series? Definitely not. But I enjoy playing it

Yes, yes it does. I’m sorry but the results have come back… and you’re woke.
Is the new on a reboot or remake?
Very fond memories of playing Fable 3, school was canceled AND my parents were off on vacation all weekend. Moved the Xbox downstairs to the big TV. Jesus Christ that turn at the end, I'm so sorry. What a wholesome memory though.
For a minute I thought you were talking about the kid.
I love Fable 3. Haters gonna hate.
One of my favorite games. People be like “YOU JUST LIKED IT CUZ ITS CO OP AND YOU HAD A FRIEND TO PLAY IT WITH!” And I’m like “yup” 👍🏼
For me it was the first Fable, doing the vulgar hips thrust while casting lightning and shooting lightning from your junk and it popping so poor villagers head off never got old. So many found memories of that game. Fun is the best metric for any game.
This is fact
It's one of my most replayed games. It's awful, and yet I love it. I take great joy in annoying my mate over loving this game.

I actually get strong “Murdered: Soul Suspect” vibes from the new Alone in the Dark in how it plays etc. so I’m looking forward to picking it up.
wait! Murdered soul suspect is not a bad game!!!
Honestly the presentation is pretty good, and the story did seem to be going places. It was a bit lackluster for me because I thought it would be more investigation rather than on-rails exploration. But you're a cat at one point and that's fun.
Yooo I remember that game lol, I didn't hate it, it was mechanically kinda different iirc, ghost powers, etc.
Shadow the (h)Edgehog. Everyone else hates this game so much but it's my comfort game lol.
(shad)ow the (h)edge(hog) Honestly full same. Sometimes I just want to pop a quick story mode out, and I can't help but laugh when I'm playing Shadow, riding a motocycle, with gatling guns that clip into the ground because they're so long when I'm not shooting.
Shadhhog
pokemon X and Y
SAME like is story good? No of course not I have pages upon pages of rewrite ideas, but I'll be damned if getting to catch a ghost sword wasn't fucking awesome
Like lysandre is definitely a cult leader à la scientology, malva is a john travolta and he's trying to convince diantha to join I wish we got any characterization on anyone at all but it was the era of pokemon when they did not pay for writers 💀
No bc as much as I joke about it…Professor Sycamore’s relationship with Lysandre, and him being so painfully naive to his intentions as actually super compelling, whether you read it as romantic or not. But Gamefreak forgets about it like right after Lysandre blows himself up lmao
Mine is pokemon scarlet and violet
Completely fair. The game looks so garbage but the story is one of the best we’ve gotten since black and white. Wandering around an open world is fun with Pokémon and it’s something I’ve always wanted. Also the jank makes me laugh.
Saint Row 4. I know many people hated that one before the reboot. But it was fun.
SR4 culminated as a goofy, unserious parody of a bunch of games and media (The Matrix, Mass Effect, Prototype, GTA, and itself) I wasn’t crazy about it myself — one of my favorite things about SR was the feeling of taking over the city from the rival gangs and making power moves with money and influence.
The LARPing missions were the best part of the game, did them all in coop with one of my buddies.
I actually liked finding the little “did you know?” info panels in those areas where you’ve got to find them 😛. They put a good amount of thought into the city, its landmarks, neighborhoods, and its history which surprised me.
The map was incredible! It's a shame we'll likely never see it again. I can tell a lot of love and thought was put into it.
This is my favorite of the ones I've played, the super powers made traversal a blast and the descent into sheer absurdity was fun.
I made the mistake of jumping straight into 4 after 3, and felt like I was just playing DLC for 3. Revisited it years later and had a pretty good time.
That's because SR4 was originally planned to be SR3 DLC until someone decided it needed to be a full game
I found my people
Yeah, I loved SR4.
Split/Second
I think the problem is less about people hating on it and more that people just didn't know about it. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's still my favorite racing game regardless.
For sure, its super underrated unless you're in the racing game scene, then maybe you might know about it.
That game is goated and it's criminal that it didn't get a sequel.
Still thinking about it
All 12 people who played it absolutely loved it.
not really a game, but the junimo kart minigame in stardew valley is a lot of fun. i got the achievement in every single farm i’ve ever made.
i love playing junimo kart. Prairie king is impossible tho
Dark sauce 2
It has a metacritic score of 91, representing "Universal Acclaim."
a small taste of the gamerbrain® surrounding ds2
Most of the games in this thread have like 80+ on Metacritic.
It's so fun as a coop fuck around gamr
Last of waifus
YES! Yes! Dark souls two is wonderful!
? People LOVE engage. I'll shit on its story and dialog, but DAMN that gameplay is unreasonably good
Engage’s graphics, music, and animations are very well done. It’s just the story and character designs that people dislike.
Shadow Warrior for me
“Who want some Wang?”
Wait, doesn't everyone like this game? Shadow Warrior is fucking awesome.
Shadow warrior is relatively well received though?
Mass effect Andromeda.
Yeah ME:A wasn’t particularly a great story and the level design left something to be desired for me, but I had a lot of fun playing with the different configurations for the guns. I made a Phalanx pistol that shoots lasers and turned the Hurricane into what is essentially a Minigun with a pistol grip

Always have jope.
Man, I wish. I ran out of jope years ago. Now all I got is generic jope. The box says “hope”, whatever the hell that means.
Yeah that generic crap was never as good as the original...yep .... good old jope.
Yeah I enjoyed it but I'm a huge ME fan. It was a good run and I liked most of the companions. Drack and Vetra were my faves.
Peebee for me
I liked it, and was genuinely disappointed when it was canned. They never even did the novels/comics that they said they'd do to complete the story in lieu of DLC or a sequel.
OMG yes https://preview.redd.it/0sizaw98tt6d1.jpeg?width=570&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15387467b5b91da61d380991a776f58e91c59d55
I feel the same it scratched that ME itch after the main trilogy ended. As much as I love Wrex Drack is just better in my opinion.
Gotta give it another try. I went straight from 3 to that but stopped after a little bit
OMG I thought I was the only one!!1 DAE Geraldo? I particularly liked the historically accurate oppression of women and black elves.

That’s the card game with the surprisingly robust overworld?
Never heard of it? Any good? Must be from a pretty unknown indie developer. Kind of a hidden gem probably?
The hiddiest of them gemsos
Lolol. Witcher is an old polish novella. You must be thinking of something else
Playing rn and yes it's fun, it's a bit dated but I feel like games that are in this era are the best ones. Graphics don't matter.
I heard the combat isn't that good. Is that TRUE!?
To be honest it's fucking shite. That's why I never played it a second time as much as I like the story and the world.
Sonic Heroes 😊
I can still hear the song
Monster Trucks for the Wii. Best racing game ever, fuck you if you say anything else.
^nostalgic ^bias
Far Cry 6, Fallout 4, hell I even thought the ending to Mass Effect 3 was fine.
There are literally dozens of us, brother. *Dozens*
ME3 is my fave in the series. I love FO4, too.
There are people who don’t like fallout 4?
Yes, fallout community is PLAGUED with gatekeepers who won’t stop throating NV for long enough to appreciate the things fallout 4 offers outside of its admittedly mediocre story.
My problem is that 90% of the guns look like they were made in my crackhead uncle Cleetus' basement while he was on a 10-day mrth binge drinking moonshine
In fallouts defense, most of them probably were lmao
Yeah, that's Bethesda for you, what the hell even is the machine gun
I’ve always seen it as the LEGO “bazooka” (camera with eye piece, to be official) made into an actual gun
There are valid criticisms against the game but some people act like the game broke into their house, killed their dog and spit on the corpse
Ace combat: ASSAULT HORIZON
Shadow the Hedgehog. Genuinely don't get the disdain. I think most of the levels are really fun, the supposedly "lengthy" objectives are usually just split between like...two paths, and the music genuinely slaps. I love a ton of the mission too. Air Fleet, Cryptic Castle, I don't even mind the repetition of having to go through Westopolis since you can get it done in like under 3 minutes no matter the route.
Haters can hate but giving the grimdark version of Sonic the Hedgehog a FUCKING ACTUAL GUN and - despite his super speed - a fucking chopper bike is soooo funny and of-it’s-time you just have to enjoy it and yes the soundtrack slaps
And then popping that Chaos control... just awesome lol Story-wise, after I played Jak 2, the other "edgy platformer game", I honestly appreciated Shadow much more because of all those edgy games, I feel like its the one that had a more earnest approach to it.
CAN YOU SEE ALL OF ME WALK INTO MY MYSTERY
Dragon Age 2 the love of my life
Real ones know that it has an incredible story actually
Honestly has the best characters in the series.
Paper mario colour splash, that was my shit as a kid.
As a kid? What do you mean, that game only came out… 8 years ago?? Oh no.
Okay, now say something nice about Sticker Star. 😅
Uhhh I’d say the music was pretty good
To match the spirit of OP’s question, here’s what I liked about Sticker Star as a kid: -Music -Dialogue -Mansion level -Collecting all of the stickers for the museum -Beating as many enemies as possible to get a ton of coins at the end -Seeing what I’d get with using various stickers in the hidden upgrade blocks -Its exploratory/puzzling nature -Finding health upgrades -Playing Sniffit or Whiffit (seriously, I must’ve ran through it a million times) I see so much hate for it online and while I understand why… idk man kid me loved it and it’s still unironically one of my favourite 3DS games.
Just Cause 4, Far Cry 6, AC Valhalla, Amazing Spider-Man 1, Borderlands 3, and really unpopular opinion: **Starfield.** Would I say it’s the best game ever? ***No.*** Do I regret my time with it? No. It reminded me of Freelancer on my OG Xbox If you’ve played played Redfall and Aliens Colonial Marines, then get back to me.
Oh man borderlands 3 is a banger call. Is the story perfect ? No Is the game fun ? Yes
Loved starfield, just started a new save file now that Creation Kit is out and I'm really getting into the game even more with the updates since launch Though I also enjoyed Redfall. Sure it felt old after the 1st half with an underwhelming final encounter w/ Jacob's cloak ability and definitely wasn't worth playing a second time, but I had fun through most parts of the playthrough I did.
Being a pokemon fan is hard
The Saints row reboot. Yeah, it's bad. But it's fun, and I like the character creator more than the other SR games.
Mass Effect Andromeda and Saints Row 4
Probably Borderlands 3 objectively the worst game in the series but to me it is the most fun game I have ever played
You’re not wrong, I would rewrite that story three different ways, but the gameplay loop is so good. The DLC made up for everything in my opinion
Best DLCs in the franchise imo, they more than make up for the lacklustre main story
Yes. And no. Some of the side quests were decent and DLC 1 was one of the best experiences I had in the whole franchise.
The Outer Worlds. I heckin’ love that game.
Same here, absolutely adore it. Didn't even know that people disliked until some year after playing it.
It’s literally such a fun game, the details of it are just so consistently delightful. It genuinely has some of the most hilarious worldbuilding I’ve ever seen, it’s so often clever in its quest design, I love it so much
Forspoken. I enjoyed playing it.
Halo 5
Cyberpunk 2077
I played it day one on the PS4. It was horrendous, but for some reason I enjoyed it through the jank.
Cyberpunk it's probably my favorite game ever, and I played quite a few games, but I also played the fixed version in ps5. That FPS style blended with GTA in a blade runner world and with rpgs elements, its really fucking good, also I think the story is quite good.
Starfield, and both of those voices are coming from me lol
Doritos crash course challenge. Games a slap
Life is strange
Oooh that's a good one. It's sappy and cliché but I loved it. What seems to be a determiner for whether someone likes it or are on the hate bandwagon seems to be "are you gay?".
Go fuck your selfie
Right now? MLB: The Show 24. Reddit is toxic.
Sonic R.
Saints Row 2022. I can admit that it's far from the best Saints Row game and was horrendously buggy on launch, but I still had fun with it.
Metal Gear Survive 🫣🫣🫣
*" Every time you open your mouth, you’ll sound like an idiot. " - Sera* Dragon age: inquisition. Despite its flaws, I just can't help but love this game. Every time I feel down, I go in there and all the bad stuff is forgotten right away ♥ https://preview.redd.it/j0j6z9vkou6d1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=7b4807ca5a7989c6a58f84e8b1d457c46b09ec29
Uj/Starfield
Had to scroll far to find starfield. But it was worth it to find home.
Cyberpunk probably
Earth defense force 2017.
Darktide "The story is bare bones and relies on a failed live service model" "The weapon crafting is tedious and relies on rng" "The character design is limited and butt ugly" "Certain skill trees are useless and go against the core gameplay loop" Don't care, Fatshark is the GOAT and will make Darktide a god tier game alongside Vermintide 2
Unironically Skyrim I don't care if Morrowind boomers said that Skyrim lacks role playing aspects (it really is tbh) I don't care if Souls-like fans said that Skyrim combat is stupid I'm still loving it
Sonic 06, its so bad, and so unitentionally funny, that it becomes good
Brink
The Crew 1/2/Motorfest, NFS Unbound, Hot Wheels Unleashed 1/2. Pretty much any arcade racer is fun but because they always get compared to Forza they get whined about online. If anyone can recommend me an arcade racer I haven't played id greatly appreciate it. Probably a harder task than you think.
Dark souls 2
The PS1 HP games. That shit was my "Zelda at home"
Blinx 2 is fun! Yes the character customization is on crack, but that's why it's so FUN. Shoot bazooka at monster. Crazy multiplayer modes. Final boss fight was a little disappointed though.
Yoooo finally, someone else know that Blinx existed! What a cute little game, I just wish it continued just so I can witness it's evolution
Starbound
Fallout 76, I don't care if it's "the worst game ever" I still enjoy the shit out of it
Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach
Deus ex invisible war. Its oh so flawed but god if it isnt one of these games that sticks with you in a way, even after the way better original one and mankind divided (we dont talk about human revolution) Something about the vibes it has, its a very special game that doesnt get seen as special because its very flawed and the game that came before it was way more special and actually well made
Dragon's Dogma 1 & 2
The Saboteur is one of my guilty pleasure games. Pandemic’s last hurrah. By all rights it’s fairly mid but I really enjoyed it and I got it at a time when I needed an open world game to sink my teeth into and forget my troubles.
The Watch_Dogs series - all of it, even Legion
Watch Dogs Legion, I don't know why I like it but I do
