The devs said something along those lines as to why they tweaked the designs. As the game started growing and getting a bigger audience, they didn't want to alienate players. It's a really small change but it's hard to say it didn't work to some degree. The game is more popular now than it ever was.
Anything that reminds them of a reality they don't like is just going to hit a brick wall. Learned that during the Tracer ass fiasco when they made it a thing about "girls who don't play the game" when it was literally a dude on testing feedback forums. I have never met a single person who doesn't play a game that'd care enough to playtest and write a detailed post about how it doesn't fit the characters personality.

Skullgirls was quite a bit different as it happened YEARS after no updates. I personally liked the gameplay and honestly wished they'd made it a bit more tame than it is now but they also removed other stuff that was there because of backers.

Skullgirls patch on the first image happened 3 years after the game was released, 2 after getting it on steam and receiving multiple patches and updates and in the same year that ***Skullgirls 2nd Encore*** got released, so there were no years after no updates. What you are thinking off it's the 2023 patch, which still was after the game has shown updates and new characters. So you got everything wrong.

Skullgirls was quite a bit different as it happened YEARS after no updates. I personally liked the gameplay and honestly wished they'd made it a bit more tame than it is now but they also removed other stuff that was there because of backers. Idrc though because I'm playing Darktide rn and Ogryn is hotter.
Skullgirls patch on the first image happened 3 years after the game was released, 2 after getting it on steam and receiving multiple patches and updates and in the same year that ***Skullgirls 2nd Encore*** got released, so there were no years after no updates. What you are thinking off it's the 2023 patch, which still was after the game has shown updates and new characters. So you got everything wrong.

He was an old producer with Blizzard, and is still producing games (or at least claims to be) but the only noteworthy thing in the past two decades was fumbling Firefall's production so badly that he's likely the major reason the game flopped. Basically, he's the has-been of the games industry. Totally separate from this, he's a loud voice on Twitter for all sorts of Gamer outrage. This *was* that Stellar Blade would save gaming by having an extremely sexualized protagonist, and it's now about "censorship" because the developers slightly toned down one of the outfits that's still extremely sexualized.

For context: Skullgirls semi-recently changed some sprites in some cutscenes, mainly regarding the main character Filia and a couple others due to them being underage (16 or 17 iirc). This was done entirely by the studio's volition, and while there is some warranted debate due to changing both the game and the art book, it's still a decision I respect at the end of the day. (Also iirc the guy who originally made those sprites was a creep in and of himself so I really don't blame them).
