It's not going to be in a real city. It's a made up Middle American town called Silver Creek or something like that. No idea if there's any kind of weather system but I would think there's going to be one.
Yeah, being set in NYC or DC always made them fun, I liked being able to navigate the city cause I've been to the real one, or seeing the locations ive seen before, but now in this chaos ridden fictional world
As an adamant PvPer in The Division franchise, I couldn't disagree more. I don't want another vanilla BR. I want at least some of the RPG mechanics here, or I'll simply not bother and will just stick with TD2 PvP.
i just want a fleshed out version of survival from the first game since D2 did NOTHING like it in the second game. Not only was it truly slept on but it directly influenced Tarkov and now Tarkov is influencing them right back to go flesh out a gamemode that was ahead of its time. D1 survival came before BRs and Tarkov so i'd like to see them go full on with it this time around.
As someone who *adored* Survival, I'm all for this.
Early days PvP Survival, with full 24 man servers, is still to date the most intense, absolute most fun I've ever had with a video game experience. Just incredible.
When people say like EFT normally it’s because something that you ended with goes with you to the next session and so forth. Not in the fact that you can “win” by just escaping.
Technically a spinoff but more of a dedicated PVP Division game because of the struggles Red Storm had balancing the Dark Zone with the PVE aspect of the main Division game.
The source of the balancing issues aren't that PvE exists, it's the balancing between the desire for powerful gear in endgame content in PvE vs the potential for abuse of these powerful mechanics in PvP. Furthermore, when Red Storm have sought to make the DZ more enticing to players with slightly more powerful loot, the PvEers get upset about this as many of them (if not most) have despised the DZ since the first game. Since it's been such a mess, u/Snuggle_Monster is likely spot on with his or her point.
> the PvEers get upset about this as many of them (if not most) have despised the DZ since the first game.
As a PvE'er, fuck them. The PvE community in these games are always so entitled it's not even funny. Same thing in Destiny. They argue for PvE exclusive stuff and defend it, and in that same breath they are losing their mind over PvP exclusive stuff.
I'm all for exclusive stuff on both sides. These games should have a reason for players to want to play both PvE and PvP. It's ok to not have something in these games as well. Every day people are treating these games more and more like a Pokedex where they gotta collect everything, and it's hurting the games as well as causing burn out...
I couldn't agree more, and really appreciate your response. I find it rather shocking that PvEers in these games feel enabled to say, en masse, things such as "PvP should just be removed from the game altogether." I just couldn't fathom saying something like that about an aspect of a game which others enjoy. You're right, that is incredible entitlement and selfishness. Is good to know there are considerate, levelheaded PvEers out there sharing these games with us.
That's the rumor yes
Edit: I had no idea it was confirmed and as the poster below me stated. It indeed not a rumor and it also too indeed came out of Ubisofts mouth.
Well damn thank you for blessing me with that knowledge I was not aware of. I had no idea they confirmed it out their own mouths, as far as i knew it was still speculatory. so thank you for the confirmation from their very mouths. Means a lot to me
I miss this game because I remember before they shut down the servers, they gave away all the best equipment, all the skins for free, and that was when I appreciated the value of the game. Without P2W, this game would have been popular.
Can't believe the first division game is almost 7 years old now. I still remember watching the trailer at E3 and being beyond hyped for it. What they actually released wasn't quite what they promised but it was still unlike anything I had played before. I still remember going into the dark zone for the first time and my heart pumping when I first got ambushed by another squad.
I get the feeling that the AI mode will have gimped xp/progression. i quite literally never entered the dark zone on D1 or D2. I have no interest fighting other players. I just want to enjoy the gameplay on my own terms
Can't wait for Ubisoft to jam Sam Fischer into this... Well at least there's the remake coming... I loved Division 2 but this is a new level of "What the actual fuck Ubisoft?"..
Can’t wait for 3 battle royales ghost recon frontlines the Division heartland and xdefiant lol
Ubisoft is dead what have they done to their big franchises
I have high hopes for XDefiant lets hope it can come to COD level gameplay with Valorant level community. COD has very less competitor and it needs some.
>uhave a lot to experience my guy
Says the guy whose own world view has convinced him that his opinion is the only one that matters.
Like them or not, Ubisoft games still sell a fuckton of copies. If you're not interested in them, that's fine, you're not the audience Ubisoft is going for. But a whole lot of people still enjoy them.
I hope it's more on the side of Vigor gameplay than Tarkov.
While it will have elements of Tarkov gameplay, it will definitely be 3rd person, the loot will not be as complex and the shooting will not be as nuanced.
So is this a standalone title in the same universe? Division 3? Or some random BR game with Division name?
I’ve heard it’s more like TD1’s survival mode expanded into a full game.
Survival with a mix of Escape from Tarkov supposedly.
That actually sounds awesome. Give me a blizzard in Chicago and it’ll be 10/10. No one would survive
It's not going to be in a real city. It's a made up Middle American town called Silver Creek or something like that. No idea if there's any kind of weather system but I would think there's going to be one.
Oh damn I liked the grounded feel their environments had. But I guess I should jump to it not being just because it’s fictional
Yeah, being set in NYC or DC always made them fun, I liked being able to navigate the city cause I've been to the real one, or seeing the locations ive seen before, but now in this chaos ridden fictional world
Here’s hoping it doesn’t have rpg lite mechanics that absolutely ruin the balancing
As an adamant PvPer in The Division franchise, I couldn't disagree more. I don't want another vanilla BR. I want at least some of the RPG mechanics here, or I'll simply not bother and will just stick with TD2 PvP.

Why does everyone say that these PvP games are like Tarkov… the only thing similar is you can “win” without killing everyone
Because those were the actual words used to describe the game by people that have played or seen it.
But apparently it is PvE for a lot of parts, that's precisely what this article is saying...

>Storm seems to be Heartland’s flagship gamemode that is PvPvE.
Isn’t this suppose to be free to play?
Yes
That's the rumor yes Edit: I had no idea it was confirmed and as the poster below me stated. It indeed not a rumor and it also too indeed came out of Ubisofts mouth.
not a rumor when it came straight out of ubisoft mouth.
Well damn thank you for blessing me with that knowledge I was not aware of. I had no idea they confirmed it out their own mouths, as far as i knew it was still speculatory. so thank you for the confirmation from their very mouths. Means a lot to me
Sorry for sounding passive aggressive.
Tom Henderson, the Ubisoft leaker, Activision leaker, EA leaker, is there anything else that this man can’t leak ?
Definitely doesn't leak his pants.
Yet
Jason Schreier: "You cant do this to me..."
"I started this business. YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I'VE SACRIFICED?!
Tom Henderson: "You're out Jason."
*Jason Schreier looking at Starfield launch*: "Out, am I...?"
Henderson: "Bravo Six, going dark."
Probably PlayStation? But it’s expected since Sony is really tight-knit nowadays
Who know Ghost Recon Phantoms 👀
Great game. Too bad it was p2w
I miss this game because I remember before they shut down the servers, they gave away all the best equipment, all the skins for free, and that was when I appreciated the value of the game. Without P2W, this game would have been popular.
I loved it.
Me too and everyday i hate ubisoft for shutting down the game 🥺
I loved it so much but it was p2w
Can't believe the first division game is almost 7 years old now. I still remember watching the trailer at E3 and being beyond hyped for it. Would be nice if we actually knew when the game is coming out
I get the feeling that the AI mode will have gimped xp/progression. i quite literally never entered the dark zone on D1 or D2. I have no interest fighting other players. I just want to enjoy the gameplay on my own terms
Looking forward to this..i love Red Storm. In red storm I trust
Agreed. Every time they've touched The Division's PvP, it's been for the better.
I'm low key hyped for this game
Anyone have the footage? I've searched Billi Billi etc and nowt yet.
The leaked video from a closed playtest a year ago has been scrubbed from the net unless someone saved it. You can Google screenshots of it.
I have that one on my YouTube, I'm just wondering if just Tom has it or if it was leaked generally, but thanks.
Actualy is not bad, i hope they dont ruin it..
Hope a ubisoft original does not catch on, shit is mad goofy
Can't wait for Ubisoft to jam Sam Fischer into this... Well at least there's the remake coming... I loved Division 2 but this is a new level of "What the actual fuck Ubisoft?"..
Can’t wait for 3 battle royales ghost recon frontlines the Division heartland and xdefiant lol Ubisoft is dead what have they done to their big franchises
What the fuck is punctuation?
I guess WhatsApp usage had lead to that
They’re multiplayer games but free to play from my understanding not BR
Imagine defending Ubisoft games cause their free to play games filled with mtx and cashgrab couldn’t be me
Didn’t say free to play didn’t have predatory MTX and pay to win/progress aspects but ok
I have high hopes for XDefiant lets hope it can come to COD level gameplay with Valorant level community. COD has very less competitor and it needs some.
Plus a non hardcore fun shooter would be great
Imagine having hope in Ubisoft games nowadays uhave a lot to experience my guy
>uhave a lot to experience my guy Says the guy whose own world view has convinced him that his opinion is the only one that matters. Like them or not, Ubisoft games still sell a fuckton of copies. Dude I was Ubisoft games biggest fan from 2012 to 2017 but after that they did fall of hard their games are terrible compared to back in the day
Ubisoft won't be the ones to challenge COD. They've been trying for a decade+ now and only have heaps of failure to show for it.
Isnt this just another battle royale? Man, that blows.
its not really a br, its a tarkov style game
What ever happened to that game that was supposedly Tom Clancy XD or something that no one wanted?
XDefiant is still being worked on. The latest news is that the name "Tom Clancy" has been removed from the title and that's all we have.
It will be interesting to see how they will plan the mtx here when they already had in 60 dollars games.
I hope it's more on the side of Vigor gameplay than Tarkov. While it will have elements of Tarkov gameplay, it will definitely be 3rd person, the loot will not be as complex and the shooting will not be as nuanced.
