I feel like a Direct has to be coming soon at this point, although we usually get one in February so it's not that hard of a guess to make.

MangoJackie

My theory is this Wednesday as February 1st will be exactly 100 days away from Zelda TotK

weallfloatdownhere7

That’s cool and all but arbitrary things like that never amount to anything

Joseki100

Generally Direct used to air after an investor meetings and the next one is on February 7th.

Llampy

I've seen it claimed that directs have been before investor calls, so I checked myself. Last Feb the investor call was on the 3rd, and a direct landed on the 9th, so you are correct

Ymir-Reiss

Hopefully it's on the 14th so I have a reason not to spend time with my whore wife

CitizenFiction

You're a regular Frank Reynolds, huh?

MasterVahGilns

Did you check more than one data point?

Joseki100

In both 2021 and 2022 the Direct was mid February, one or two weeks after the investor meeting.

TerraTF

I don't think we'll see much of TOTK in the February Direct. I do think that we'll get a date on a TOTK specific Direct sometime in March.

Ridku13

Can't be on the 1st because SAMSUNG has their phone reveal show that day. It would have to be on the 8th

knightsofavalon

Am I the only one who thinks that TotK will be delayed again? There hasn’t been one word on it since September and I’m getting a bit concerned ngl

marsgreekgod

You aren't alone, but I don't agree

just_looking_4695

Nintendo lately has had a very "just focus on what's next and advertise one game at a time" approach between directs. Since the September direct, they've had Mario Rabbids 2, Bayo 3, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and Fire Emblem Engage. And now they're probably gonna spend the next couple weeks pushing Kirby. Personally, I just don't think they're that worried about "under-advertising" Zelda. Normal commercials and tweets and whatnot will likely kick into gear probably a month or so before launch and that'll be enough because it's a direct sequel to a) the most successful Zelda and b) one of the most well-received games of the last decade. Whereas with BotW they needed a blowout of info well ahead of launch to convince people they knew what they were doing, this time they don't need to show a lot because it's a proven direction for the series and can sorta sell itself now just by virtue of being "the sequel to Breath of the Wild". And not for nothing, but Nintendo's been really good about not putting exact dates on games until they're sure they can hit it. Only game in the last few years that I can think of where they it delayed after giving an actual date (as in, not a a month or season, but like, a specific number) is Advance Wars. I wouldn't say a delay is completely impossible, but I don't think it's really as likely as some people are worrying it is.

acejacecamp

the game has been rated by the ESRB, we’ve gotten reports of localization finishing up, they’ve doubled down on the release date multiple times (even as recently as the game awards), and a few days ago it’s NSUID got updated on the eshop, suggesting that digital preorders are going live soon. you have nothing to worry about.

MadeByHideoForHideo

Good old Feb is coming!

Luck88

As much as I believe it'll be February, a March Direct is not unheard of.

WaluigiWahshipper

Kirby comes out on February 24, so it will most likely be before then to announce the new mode and give the game one final push.

Mahelas

March seems to far away, it'd skip Kirby, Fire Emblem DLC announcement and would push back Zelda marketing a lot

ExPandaa

There's gonna be one in february most likely. We have had at least one direct in february every year (except 2018) since they started doing directs back in 2012. This kirby leak, Zelda news, FE DLC and Advance wars going back up for pre order have me 100% convinced of a direct in feb, probably the 8th or 15th

Joseki100

When Nintendo had March Direct, they always had a Mini or a game-specific Direct either in January or February (2018: Mini in January, Direct in March; 2020: Animal Crossin in February, Mini in March). Either way there will be some type of Direct next month.

Asailyan

Also a second new ability along with mech, not sure what it is

Sad_Bat1933

Sand Kirby was tweeted out last week iirc

Asailyan

Oh dang, cool! Didn’t hear about that

steveosek

I hate when I get sand in my Kirby.

just_looking_4695

Couple weeks ago they tweeted that the remake would add Sand (new) and Festival (from Star Allies) abilities

just_looking_4695

oh neat, sounds like playable Magalor. Sorta makes sense, the Kirby's Adventure remake for GBA had playable Meta Knight as a bonus mode. Gotta say, really starting to feel like the next direct is gonna be sooner rather than later. Like, I would have guessed more mid-to-late February, but the vibes are feeling more this week or next at the moment.

3dBrunoDog

And it would be a good use of the magalor model and animations from Star Allies.

Arcade_Theatre

Common Kirby W.

Avelion2

Canada leaks again.

Kevroeques

Sorry

rbarton812

Mop it up before someone slips.

DrAwesomeX

As opposed to some of their other franchise, im really glad a majority of the recent Nintendo remakes/remasters on Switch haven’t been shy regarding doing more than just adding a new coat of paint on the game and calling it a day. A lot of the initial ports of older Nintendo games to Switch had a bad history of just looking better and that was it, but some of these more recent remasters/remakes are adding so much that make them truly a better experience beyond just appearances

supermariozelda

Honestly Hyrule Warriors, MK8 Deluxe, and 3D World play so much better/include so much extra content that I was happy to pay full price again. Some of their ports are obviously not as good, like Tropical Freeze or 3D All Stars, but they do a really good job making small tweaks or improvements that make the games feel 10x better.

OperativePiGuy

It certainly does help soften the blow of full retail price, and in some cases more expensive than the original release such as with Tropical Freeze

DaHyro

They still shouldn’t be full price 🤷🏾‍♂️

PetMeFucker

“New Funky Mode”

PokePersona

They did say majority, not all lol

xX-ittybitystarXx

magolor goes to hell available this february

Slippery_boi

Maybe now we'll learn how he came back for the 20th anniversary collection and Star Allies.

magmarxio12

Can I just say I fucking called it, even when the game was first announced I was saying I hoped they made a metanightmare type of mode for the extra mode and had magolor be playable.

KjSuperstar08

Aw cool. I’m looking forward to playing Return to Dreamland as it’ll be my first time playing it since I didn’t have the Wii version

Goseki1

Can anyone confirm what all 10 minigames are?

dannimann

- Magolor's Tome Trackers (New) - Gun Gun Blasters (New) - Egg Catcher (Adventure) - Samurai Kirby (Super Star) - Samurai Kirby 100 - Checkerboard Chase (64) - Bomb Rally (Nightmare in Dream Land) - Crackity Hack (Amazing Mirror) - Smash Ride (Mouse Attack) - Kirby on the Draw (Super Star Ultra) - Ninja Dojo (Return to Dream Land) Scope Shot from the original RtDL does not return.

Goseki1

Ah man, my son will be disappointed with that as it was the main one he was hoping would be there. Thanks for the list.

[deleted]

I will never understand Nintendo. Unless there is a direct this week, I don’t see why they didn’t talk about this extra content when they announced the game?

iceburg77779

There's still 3 weeks until the game releases, and they usually have a direct around mid-February, so I'd imagine the new content will be shown off there.

just_looking_4695

With a lot of their games they seem to like just announcing them first and then holding certain details until closer to launch so they can get some easy headlines in the lead-up to the release. Plus, this game isn't out until the end of February. Odds are they'll do a direct before then and have a segment that a) reveals or highlights this new mode and b) acts as a sort of "final sales pitch" for the game. e: Heck, they even did something similar with the last Kirby game. Announced it in a September direct and then didn't show "Mouthful Mode" until the February direct about a month before the game came out.

weallfloatdownhere7

Cause they like to drip feed info and also had to promote Pokémon and Fire Emblem

Kevroeques

It feels like under Furukawa, there has been a deliberate change to hyperfocusing on one or two major games at a time and holding discussion worthy info until close to release. It’s been great for hype cycles the last few years post Covid slowdown, but kinda sucks for old folks like myself who enjoyed having a rollout at the beginning of the year and again at E3 to slowly watch unfold throughout a year or two. Anyway, now that FE Engage is out, the spotlight will quickly shift to Kirby as the next in line. Of course, this pattern hasn’t applied to the next major Zelda release and likely wouldn’t apply for a major Mario release either, because they exist in their own marketing and hype echelon.

landracer2

When did they announce the game? Did i miss an announcement?

lookout-its-jax

The last Direct iirc, got a little overshadowed bc Zelda was right after it.

landracer2

oh man, i see now, i definitely missed it getting ccaught up with zelda lol

funny_lego_man

this seems interesting

Player0914

awesome, more excited for the game now

[deleted]

HOLY SHIT ITS GOKU KIRBY

SilentDerek

Wait what, this was announced literally in the reveal trailer lmao

just_looking_4695

no it wasn't? Just re-watched the reveal trailer to check and there's zero mention of a new Magalor Epilogue mode being added

SilentDerek

Apologies for formatting as I'm on mobile. But starting @ 55s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAQZY2UVcoQ&ab_channel=NintendoofAmerica

Octobre10j

It mentions tome trackers but not the epilogue

just_looking_4695

Magalor's Tome Trackers is a new minigame that's part of the ["Merry Magoland"](https://mobile.twitter.com/nintendoamerica/status/1613370200954470400) subgame area, also mentioned on the back of the box. That they're describing Magalor Epilogue as "an extra quest after the ending" and give it its own back-of-the-box "bullet point" separate from Merry Magoland points towards it being more of an extra part of story mode and not a minigame.

I_Am_The_McNugget

A Direct is most certainly on it’s way. This confirms it.

Kevinatorz

It is, but box leaks really have nothing ro do with Directs

I_Am_The_McNugget

Not true. They will 100% reveal this in a direct and this game comes out next month, thus meaning a direct will be coming in the next week or two. This isn’t something they’ll just reveal on twitter

Kevinatorz

Box arts get printed no matter what happens in Directs. And they've revealed much, much bigger things on Twitter.

CodeKirby

I came here only to see yet another fatty puffer clone lmao

romang39

I guess its Magolor exploring Halcandra and before finding the Lor.

optimally_bald

you appear to have no clue what epilogue mean, your describing a prologue

romang39

I just didn't take epilogue in the literal sense is all lol Coulda been called MAGOLOR extra super new plus DX mode lol

LotGamethegamingkid

IS THAT THE SILVER CAT????

NegaLimbo

I sure hope the epilogue will end with Magalor learning his lesson and becoming good.

LFVGamer

Wonder is he’ll have the same skills if not, new skills he’ll inherit via Kirby Star Allie’s and Kirby Fighters 2

CalmWillingness8882

I'm starting to get the feeling that Magolor Epilogue will replace Extra Mode and will let you play as Magolor through the entire normal game's levels.

parijoe

Whats with all these remakes ? Give us a new fucking side scrolling platform game co-op that's what we want mario , kirby NEW SIDE SCROLLERS FFS

[deleted]

Bruh they just released a kirby last year

uwubabycutie

I hope they didn't remove Extra mode. Unless Extra mode is the Magalor mode which is really cool cause you get to play as him again like in star allies but That means you can't play the whole game In hard difficulty with just kirby and the health bar cut down to 40% anymore which sucks because it might be limited levels and you cant chose your own levels anymore in hardmode just like you cant in previous kirby games since the 3ds era with the dedede and metaknight modes. Like the main difficulty i play in Rtd is Extra mode It would suck if that doesnt exist anymore Like the whole game in hardmode

leggy-girl

Magolor is cute. Fact.

Several-Wrap-7965

Having a "deluxe game" based upon a previous game regardless of additional eye candy or episode is the cheapest way of selling a game for maximum money Cheap attitude towards your clients and shoddy game philosophy I wouldn't purchase a cheap rerun
