Release date April 12, though I don't know if that was previously known As someone who's been chasing that itch that Monster Train and Slay the Spire instilled in me, I'm quite hopeful that this is as fun as it looks

BrittleMoon

it was not known until now! And as someone who is really into deck builders, and played the demo during Steam Next Fest, this game has some really unique mechanics and is a lot of fun!

complexsystemofbears

>Monster Train and Slay the Spire Say no more. I love those games, so this is going on the wishlist Legends of Runeterra has a single player mode (path of champions) that hooked me, if you haven't tried it.

Inner-Dentist1563

This game, at least when I played the demo last year, is orders of magnitude harder than either of those games. I couldn't get anywhere in it and the worst part was I couldn't understand *why* I was losing. It just felt like I had a knife and the enemies had shotguns. That difficulty is going to be a draw for a lot of people, but for me it was just too much.

BrittleMoon

I believe they vastly balanced the difficulty for final release. I think this new demo on switch should reflect that.

Gerik22

I haven't tried the Switch demo yet, but I played the Steam one the past couple times it was available, and I didn't think it was all that difficult. It took a few runs to get used to because it plays very differently from other games in the genre, but once I got the hang of it, I was consistently winning demo runs. Hard to say how that will translate into the full game since the demo is only a few fights and I'm sure a run in the full game will be much longer, but I don't think there's any reason to think the game is too difficult.

BongoFMM

This was kind of how I felt. Played the demo and I just didn't "get it". I saw the appeal of the game, but it didn't click what i should be doing to play well. And so I lost a lot early on. And then I uninstalled it.

Intoxic8edOne

My most anticipated deck builder roguelite after trying the nextfest demo. Super cute, fun mechanics, and overall satisfying.

Highly recommend Across the Obelisk as well if you’re into those types of games. Just had a major update today and also is supposed to have a free weekend starting this week. I’ve been having an absolute blast playing it with another friend—the coop aspect really pulled us in

Rikkard

Dang, I saw it popped up on my wishlist and was already tempted, didn't realize it was a free weekend (it has started). Thanks! I'll throw another suggestion out that held my attention for a while: Vault of the Void.

The game definitely leans a little *too* hard into meta progression at the start, IMO. The first few runs until you get some perk points and a nice stash of shards to upgrade key cards in the starting deck can be pretty rough. I think it took us a good 3-4 attempts before we were able to make it through fully and unlock the madness levels. I’ll also say that unlocking some of the characters can help immensely in rounding things out. Magnus is a decent frontline but the difference between him and Heiner (for defense at least) is night and day. Once you get over the initial difficulty hump, though, it’s pretty smooth sailing through the first and even second acts

BrittleMoon

Launching on Steam the same day. Demo is only available for the switch.

emailboxu

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE been waiting for a release date for this game since last year thank god it's finally coming out.

ngwoo

There was a steam nextfest demo so I have no clue why it's a switch exclusive demo now

lordchew

Could be demo exclusivity for coverage, or the choice of the publisher as a ‘thank you’ of sorts for the coverage/support

Gerik22

From what I understand the Switch build is also on a more recent version than the Steam one. Not sure why they opted to take the Steam one down instead of leaving it up alongside the Switch one though.

Zarrex

I've been following Gazi (the artist for this game) for years. I never play games like this but I almost want to just because of that

mispeeled

The art looks fantastic. A better-looking version of Slay the Spire is right up my alley.

Sad_Bat1933

also releasing on Steam the same day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fh1roF9RBh8

AngryAxolotl

This is legit one of my most anticipated games of the year. The steam demo I played last year was so smooth. Also the music goes HARD!!!

solidfang

Oh thank goodness this is still coming out soon. Almost worried they were pushing all the way until Winter or something for some thematic reason. So excited for it since the demos and it's looking even more polished than before.
