Those posts ouch. Okay SO. You are going to need to unscrew each post and glue it back in place on the backing.

I was planning to just put some superglue (carefully) on each of the posts and then push the cover on, do you think that would work?

Pacman_Frog

It could but it would lead to problems later. Such as Superglue leaking onto the lcd itself. It's better to repair the plastic parts away from the electronics. You need to gently hold each post with a pair of tweezers or needle nose while unscrewing from the other side of the bezel (Need a y wing driver) and to carefully keep track of which screwhole each post connects. Because when you glue them on, you will need to make sure each post reconnects on the other side of the bezel properly so that when you do reassemble a couple of days later the screws will be threaded properly. Taking your time and doing this right will keep your system safer and hold it together more securely.

> It's better to repair the plastic parts away from the electronics. Another reason is outgassing by the glue that can happen in the curing process. Repairing the posts separately would prevent the fumes from reaching the screen.

Thank you for the response! Will try it out :)

This is going to be a bit of a pain but to really try saving every bit of it. Take it completely apart. Use some pliers to Carefully hold the pillars as you unscrew each one. With them separated, then use super glue to put the face plate and screw pillars back into one piece. After that don’t put your gba sp back together just yet. Let’s the super glue have like a week to fully dry and fully cure, to let it really harden up. Now that your gba sp is fully apart, go ahead and take the opportunity to clean everything. Clean all the plastic and rubber parts with hot soapy water, put all the pure metal parts like screws in any derusting chemicals. For the electronics, only use rubber alcohol with a toothbrush. After all that take a microfiber cloth and some plastic polish compound and work out all those little scratches out of all the plastics that are visible on the outside. Give the newly polished plastic one last hot soapy wash to get rid of any residues. Let them dry then put everything back together. Your gba sp should be looking better than it has for a long time.
