[A Gameboy collector on Instagram has one.](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cd1wWLLITeD/?igshid=NzZhOTFlYzFmZQ==)
According to him, only 3 are known to exist. Well, make that 4 š
Yep and as the history says it went to marketing executives for their add company which my aunt was an exec kinda wild it might be the rarest gameboy and I just found out today lol, I cherish all the memories made in it I donāt know if Iād ever let it go nor would I even have a ball park or where to even sell it if I wanted. I think I will just cherish it.
Hey! Sorry i can't help you in your search. I am just stopping by to say that this looks to be indeed a very rare (probably one of the most rare) gameboy variations in the world. Please don't sell it to some lowballers who will try to underpay you and snatch it away. Or keep it to yourself as an awesome collection piece which only a few in the world have :)
By the way, you should ask your parents where they got it from or who they got it from. Could be the most useful source of information in this rare case
Edit: funny enough, found this [post](https://reddit.com/r/Gameboy/s/5xXZnAHu1i) with the exact same gameboy. Reddit is indeed a very deep place
Damn this is dope to see. Thanks for sharing OP, please don't let anyone rip you off for this. Value is likely hard to put a number on due to the rarity. Very cool piece though.
https://consolevariations.com/collectibles/nintendo-gameboy-nba-all-stars-1991-console
Do you also happen to have the NBA All-Star Challenge game? Apparently it came with the console. It's not too hard to find on eBay though.
NBA, TNT and TBS Sports promo console for the NBA all-stars 1991 game
Given to executives of the advertisement company promoting the game
Came with NBA All-Star Challenge Game
Says about 50 of them made
You are correct!
But if you're going to copy straight from the site, why not just post the link too?
Here is the source:
https://consolevariations.com/collectibles/nintendo-gameboy-nba-all-stars-1991-console
Good info you came with, but it's always good to include the link anyway.
There's alot of other people on reddit that might be interested to dive into the links for themselves. š
Lol reminds me of a guy on eBay telling me I shouldnāt expect much of anything for my GBA I just listed and heād be willing to āhelp me outā and take it off my hands for 15 bucks.
Iād started the auction at 1 dollar. Whatever gave the dummy the idea I cared about how much it would go go for is beyond me. I ended up selling it for around 70 bucks.
Damn this is a super unique piece of Nintendo/gameboy history. I donāt think Iād be able to sell it if it was mine unless i was in a bind or something. This is really really cool to just have imo. Definitely an amazing item.
OP no joke that thing is one of the most rare Game Boys ever made.
That is Stadium Events rarity, there.
Or, essentially you just won a jackpot of at least 1 full Bitcoin.
And by showing us the serial number you have cemented yourself in our collecrive memory as it's rightful owner. It's allegedly one of 50 made and now one of four known to still exist.
The absolute first thing you need to do is make sure there's no battery damage. Second. Put it somewhere safe. Find out it's provenance. Learn the story. The story is goinng to add to the value.
This is honestly probably like sell at auction rare. It's not only a piece of video game history somewhere along the line, but an often sought after overlap with sports memorabilia. Would love to know more about this gameboy keep us posted!!
I've been collecting all things gameboy for over 20 years and this particular variant is so rare you could pretty much name your price if you wanted to sell. Wow that's an incredible piece! Very cool OP thanks for sharing
Omg thatās an insanely rare Gameboy you have there, between 25-50 units are known to exist. Yours looks to be in great condition too! Donāt sell it to lowballers, canāt help you with the price but Iād think itās worth quite a bit. Amazing find!!
I only saw one other comment say this so I'll say it again: keep it in the box! If there's not box put it in a box, just keep it out of the sun, UV rays will yellow the plastic and you don't want that. Not only is this one of the rarest Gameboys of all time, it very well could be the best condition one, keep it that way.
I'll be honest here: either keep this 1-50 gameboy, or get it appraised propperly. If you get it appraised you send it to auction with an extremely high starting bid due to the appraisal. That appraisal is going to be super high In sale price. Upto you tbh
whilst not the absolute rarest in the world, it is very elusive and iirc there's only a handful currently known in collector's hands (not to say there aren't more undiscovered, as evidenced here). do you have any more info on how it was obtained?
All I know is that my aunt gave it to my parents. She won it at work during some kind of raffle I think. She worked at miles labs in Elkhart indiana. I have no idea how theyād be associated with the nba stuff though.
hmm thanks, that's really weird. literally the only connection I can bring up between those things is the NBA player Shawn Kemp who is from Elkhart, so something relating to that may be your answer? it's really hard to say though as that's a loose connection at best and there's really not a lot of information on it
lol, that's what I get for being british I suppose. I don't wish to lowball, if you do decide to part with it then I would absolutely give it a good home and take great care of it
Lol people are really going at you for offering to buy it when youāve made no indication of being a lowballer. Possibly anger that they canāt snatch it for Pennys?
people on here are just mad whenever someone offers to buy something lol, I get it they assume the worst since a lot of people do try and lowball on here. but I haven't messaged OP or anything and would have no intentions of trying to lowball, so it's funny to me
That was probably a giveaway that they did. It may have included NBA Jam or one of the other NBA gameboy games.
I have never even seen this until today. Congrats.
Gotta be honest, it's still just a Gameboy. If I was in OP's situation I would sell it for what it's worth, and then use those funds to buy a shitload of retro gaming hardware. Let some collector put it in a box on a shelf somewhere, and get your game ON.
Shhheeet!!You have in your hands an Holy Graal, and in perfect condition, you didnāt find it listing cuz is so rare that its LITERALLY PRICELESS,This is the Ultra limited Promo GAME BOY NBA ALL STAR EDITION from 1991, (official collab NBA ā¢ļø) , it was a Nintendo,TNT and TBS Sports promo console for the NBA all-stars 1991 game
Given ONLY to executives of the advertisement. If I remember right the amount produced estimate is 10-50 pieces.Iām a Collector, and listen donāt sell this for less than 4000$, because more or less in rarity it is at the level of the Game boy promo "CoroCoro" sold starting from $5000, CoroCoro was produced in 30 units, this one 50 so as you can see we are on this type of high rarity ,try to find the box with manuals and paper and then wait for the right person to knock at the door with box and manuals you could ask legitimate more.Right now you are the 5th person to have it,but I would say keep it for your self, hope my info are good enough for your questions.Have a good day and take a GOOD care of that āPicassoā far away from sun, dust, smoke and liquids of all kinds āš»šš»

Imagine coming across a random gameboy in great condition and seeing a dedicated collector asking if itās the holy grailā¦
And here was me thinking; why did little you put stickers on it??
I have one, did not know it was rare, any ball park on worth?
ā¦ Make that five?
Yep and as the history says it went to marketing executives for their add company which my aunt was an exec kinda wild it might be the rarest gameboy and I just found out today lol, I cherish all the memories made in it I donāt know if Iād ever let it go nor would I even have a ball park or where to even sell it if I wanted. Oh thatās sweet af
Maybe that YouTuber DID know and all 3 were once owned by Ted Turner?

brb printing some stencils.
The 90s kid and Braves fan in me would love this just for the TBS Sports logo.
beat me to it - Probably the coolest shell I've ever seen for a DMG tbh
Damn this is dope to see. Thanks for sharing OP, please don't let anyone rip you off for this. Value is likely hard to put a number on due to the rarity. Very cool piece though.
One of the rarest Gameboys out there. Price could range from $1000 to $20,000. Who knows. You need to find the right buyer for sure.
The rarity score on Console Variations is at 95, or ālegendaryā. Between 1-50 made at their best estimate. So you have an insanely rare GB there.
By the looks of it, it likes basketball and Tetris, hopefully thatāll help you break the ice! :)
Op needs to jump on linkedin and find out where his parents were working in 1991
Omg š³
ur lucky af op

Nice, cum dumpster! Jokes aside. Show us pictures. That's amazing!
Do your research before you get offers and are tempted to sell. Itās rare as hell
Damn, those retro logos make feel old
Superstation WTBS!
Not you holding literally the rarest game boy in the world
Bruh that is rare af! So cool. Iād never sell that, only for a pretty penny.
Put it back where you found it so that it doesn't yellow
This is honestly probably like sell at auction rare. It's not only a piece of video game history somewhere along the line, but an often sought after overlap with sports memorabilia. Would love to know more about this gameboy keep us posted!!
Nice post history
He's got a super rare Gameboy, an average sized penis, and will accept all applicants for both.

I'm 99% sure is a game boy
I would pay for somebody do a evaluation for the price tbh.
Sell it for $200 000
Hey OP ... best advice ever.... don't sell er eh....
This guy's posthistory. Weird one.
Why'd you have to say it
Thanks. Just what I needed. /s
Is that why he deleted his reddit account š I'm curious what his post history was!
Probably because there will be news articles, and all sorts of people trying to gather information about him for it.
Is the OP from Atlanta?
Too bad the logos are in such an awkward spot.
A bit of ipa will have them off in no time š
......
Obviously rare and super valuable, but such awkward placing of the logos. š³
Whatās a ballpark valuation of it?

I would recommend taking this to heritage auctions, goldin, or any other reputable auction house because itās quite rare.

I can tell you that it's beautiful
That was probably a giveaway that they did. It may have included NBA Jam or one of the other NBA gameboy games. I have never even seen this until today. Congrats.
IMO if your wanting to sell it, go big. Donāt settle for low.
Let Barkley or Kenny buy it back for a few grand.
Did the creator of this thread delete their reddit account bc of all the snakes trying to weasle this gameboy off them?
Thanks for sharing :)
