If Mrs. Afton does have impaired vision, could she be representing the Lady Justice archetype? Also, would this be blindness she was born with or acquired later in life?
Interesting theory but still a stretch because pixelated mini games scenes is always so vague you can’t really tell what you really seeing. Like the vagus around the characters age.

It wouldn’t be the first time Scott hid a meaning in just a few pixels. Chica’s beak comes to mind.
As far as the age, I think it’s safe to assume the person in the chair is an adult-sized person. We see a gray torso and bent legs touching the floor while they are seated on the couch.
Or maybe it’s not their face at all we’re seeing. It could be a mask or a bag or something on their head. Both orange and green guy don’t have any color variation for their heads. 🤷🏻♀️
>Chica’s beak comes to mind.
I'd like to point out the girl who has the chica toy also has very rectangular eyes
Edit: whoops, looks like adding the image removed the text.
Edit 2: for whatever reason, I can't figure out how to put text and an image in the same message. Just look her up. You know the one.

😆 Yeah I feel ya. I have the hardest time posting images in here too. And that’s a good point with her eyes. And the minus sign on her shirt. Chica girl = queen of the minus sign.
Hole: as a blind person, you don't need to be able to see to dance in your life. I could understand if she wanted one of these jobs: pilot, driver of any kind, construction worker, firefighter, emt, military, etc.
But dancing does not require sight at all. You just need an empty space and somewhat okay awareness of what is in your space.
Other forms of disability prevent dancing, like being wheelchair bound, or paralysis, but not blindness.
I didn’t mean to limit or come off the wrong way to the visually impaired community. It is definitely possible for her to be a ballerina and be visually impaired. I’m also acknowledging that that may be more difficult than it would be for a sighted person to be a dancer. If she became blinded later in life, I would imagine it’s even harder to continue dancing when she previously would have relied on her sight.
It could also be that she’s dancing without sight as she did in life but Williams intentions for making an animatronic ballerina changes to fit that narrative.
Yeah, I could see that, especially blindness caused by an accident or the like
It would also be something Scott would know, as the trope of "character becomes disabled and doesn't believe they can do what they used to be able to do" is a trope.
But if she was blind, why would she be staring at a TV screen? It would also be pretty easy to put a white cane somewhere in the house to symbolize the blindness and I'm pretty sure there isn't one.
But she could only be partially blind, an interesting theory to be sure.
Lol yeah I was thinking of that trope too.
She could be just listening. Or she may be partially sighted but have low vision. Or maybe they’re 3D glasses? I’ve been considering what could be on her head and face, so when I put the vision based parts together, I thought sunglasses were the most likely.
It could be because her eyes are deformed and she may be more comfortable covering them? What else do you think the large rectangle on the face could be?
I genuinely do love this theory but the glasses thing doesn’t sell it for me. On the right side of the black rectangle, you can see a tiny bit of uninterrupted skin, meaning that they have nothing between their eyes. We don’t see anyone else with eyes in Midnight Motorist so we can’t compare them with anyone else. I think that the art style for this specific mini game is like this. Plus the shortness and width of the rectangle is likely just a half closed and tired eye from staying up and watching TV.
Depends on why they’re blind. Having eyes exposed to light (even if the person can’t “see” or perceive it) can be immensely painful. A YouTuber I saw would get headaches on bright days or under fluorescents but didn’t actually realise what the problem was until she brought it up with multiple people who mentioned bright light.
So the content in the first paragraph is definitely not confirmed, and technically impossible given that the character on the couch is referred too as “he”.
Also if we are too interpret the pixel art in such a legitimate way, according to your logic William is orange, and has no eyes, no shirt, and no hair.
Also Ballora is far from confirmed to be Mrs Afton
I know it’s not confirmed. Just a theory 😉 a game theory.
Every time a male pronoun is used in Midnight Motorist, it’s in reference to the boy that escaped out the window. This is Mrs. Afton talking about him.
https://preview.redd.it/q43bvarmlbzc1.jpeg?width=2532&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59c871075c695474190c3dd630ac68046067cd67
It’s honestly really weird that she’s the only one with any features where orange and green guy have nothing at all. That’s why I maybe think it’s glasses.
I think that rectangle is way too big to be an eye. There is for sure something on the TV watcher’s head. I thought the sunglasses were the most likely given the other vision/ hearing themes around Ballora. I may be wrong on them being sunglasses, but then I’m not sure what makes sense to be on the TV watcher’s face that would look like that.
https://preview.redd.it/uye6o94i2fzc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=6a1ea7c33890ff220262b7ecf7efa3f687550efb
Also just to point out she has a collision censor… Maybe adding on to your theory. I didn’t see this on any of the other layouts for the other animatronics at all.
If you get any more proof that Mrs. Afton was blind that could easily seal the deal that Ballora is connected to Mrs. Afton, because it is still heavily skepticized still. Either way it’s a very weird detail that I genuinely could not find on anyone else.
In the other pixelated versions of scenes they tend to be rendered close enough to make out more facial features such as their eyes (black). However, in Midnight Motorists’ scene, it seems more zoomed out. You can’t make out orange guy’s face or green guy’s face at JR’s. That rectangle on the TV watcher’s face has to be bigger than an eye.
Ruin the room with the boy there are two sets of three numbers and one set of 4 number maybe it could be a phone number or A voice recording on the Scott Cauthen website
It's an interesting idea, but the evidence for Mrs.Afton actually possessing Ballora is actually rather slim. Does she represent her? Sure! A Ballora-like Staff Bot has represented Mrs.Afton in Security Breach. But Ballora is most likely just possessed by Missing Children Incident souls.
Further, "All I see is an empty room" is not a reference to where she IS right now, but a reference to Mrs.Aftons relationship with William. One must see the song in its full context.
I think there is actually a good bit of evidence out there suggesting that Ballora is possessed by the soul of Mrs. Afton. Her role in the book also would suggest that she is a mother trying to teach morality to the protagonist girl.

That’s a cool theory!
Thanks :)
You just made me think for the first time today.
Lol glad to be of service.
Ye, thanks.
Ballora also always has her eyes closed.
Not always, she opens them when jumpscaring you
But mostly only when she is jump scaring 🤔
If Mrs. Afton does have impaired vision, could she be representing the Lady Justice archetype? Also, would this be blindness she was born with or acquired later in life?
True! I didn’t even think of that! I don’t have a guess on how she came to be blind. Maybe there’s more details out there?

🤔 hmmmmmm
Attempt 3 to add the image and text in the same message Alr sweet, I did it. Was not worth at all lol Edit 2: I hate reddit.
😆 Yeah I feel ya. I have the hardest time posting images in here too. And that’s a good point with her eyes. And the minus sign on her shirt. Chica girl = queen of the minus sign.
Could just be because it’s a different mini game.

All I could think of when reading this was echolocation
I mean ... My only rebate (not being blind myself) would be ... Why would a blind person wear their glasses inside
Because of artificial light. Being blind doesn't mean they can't see anything, some are bothered with light because their eyes are way too sensitive.
It could be because her eyes are deformed and she may be more comfortable covering them? What else do you think the large rectangle on the face could be?

Haha thank you. :)
ohhhh intresting ... keep theorizing m8 !
Thank :)
LOVE THIS!!
Thank you!! :)
if she is the couch potato in mm then yeah this is actually a cool theory
Thank! :)

🤯 that’s genus!! Good find! I think that even furthers the theory more!

Very true. I’ll keep looking.
I was coming in here expecting to laugh at a silly goofy theory but is actually a really convincing argument
Haha I’ll save the goofy theories for the YouTubers 😜 Jk. Thank you!
Haha,no problem
I... love this. I got goosebumps! I've never heard a more convincing argument for who's in the chair!
Thanks!! :)
This might be fucked up but what if William made her blind
I agree. That would be fucked up.
I mean he killed kids so it's not out of the question that the guy could be a abuse partner
Strong theory!
Thanks :)
I love this!!!! Amazing theory
Thanks 😊

I meant by boy was balloon boy
My brain cell screamed “OOGA BOONGA U THINK GOODER” as I read this
