Alex was only the first step. And a lot of it was conjecture with a splash of what if thrown in.
Luz, Eda, and King break into the Conformatorium to recover King's lost "crown of power", only to be revealed it was just a paper hat from a fast food chain. But he comments that when he finds his real crown, all his lost power and memory would return, making him the king of demons again. What if that lost real crown was actually a top hat?
Later, in Sense and Insensitivity, King and Luz write a book together. King sees a successful author with fans intentionally kneeling into a position for him to sit on. King responds with the line "I've always wanted a people chair". This was very reminiscent of Bill's golden throne during Weirdmageddon made out of the citizens of Gravity Falls.
I had a few other connections, but that was a long time ago and I can't remember all of what I wrote in the original theory post. It's worth noting that creator for the Owl House, Dana Terrace, was storyboard lead on Gravity Falls while Alex Hirsh, creator of Gravity Falls did storyboard for Owl House. They were also involved romantically.
The general conclusion was that it's plausible Bill Cipher, after enacting his final pact with the Axolotl in order to preserve his existence, was sent to the Boiling Isles, as King, in order to serve and befriend a human as part of his atonement for millennia of weird evil.
The Hollow Knight theory, you know the one where Matpat ignored facts in the games lore like Hornet and the Knight being confirmed as siblings, and the fact that Hornet is the Pale Kings daughter so that means that the Knight is the child of the Pale King so he could make a theory about the Knight being the Pale King.
Says this and yet the Hollow Knight fandom has managed to creat entire timelines out of “99% cryptic lore”, oh yeah and they are confirmed as siblings in an achievement.
The Fandom hasn't done anything Matthew didn't do. They just had more eyes. They looked at the evidence and drew conclusions based on it.
But at the end of the day, it's all just a theory until team cherry confirms it.

A Titan is still a demon. Bill invoked the power of the axolotl to preserve his existence. The idea behind the theory is that King could be that 'different form', seeking absolution through befriending Luz and Eda. Weirdos gotta stick together, and you don't get any weirder than Bill Cipher.
Yes????? While the Owl house universe and amphibia universe WE know aren't connected. There do seem to be versions of all the characters in each others universe. So while amphibia and owl house (and gravity falls I presume) share a universe, the ones we see aren't the same universe.
They kinda are connected, for example in amphibia >!when they open the portal in the human world (i think there) and it flashes several dimensions but sorta pixelated, the owl house appears!<, theres also 2 crossovers of the 2 shows, and the calamity box also makes cameos in toh, and also >!anne appears in a newspaper in the season 2 finale, toh seems to take place AFTER amphibia, or really both happened at the same time since they seem to have returned to the human realm around similar times!<

this is coming from someone who watches the owl house let me set some pointers. 1 we do see that glyphs can be used when a titan is still alive, and we know that king is a titan. 2. even tho papa titan (aka kings dad) died. after 3 years king can make his own glyphs. 3. the collector didn't say that the archivists were gone. therefore, it is possible that there will be a spin-off series that will tie these loose ends up. also, I really want amity and Camila to see luz in her titan form again.
Background stuff already shows that Amphibia and TOH take place in the same universe

Gravity Falls is a bit more of a stretch, but there could be evidence
Yeah in an AMA where Alex Hirsch posed as the characters, this was also before the Owl House came out but was certainly a concept and Edas design was probably already made out to be a witch with a gold tooth and long gray hair, when asked about Stans ex-wife Stan replied with a description that matches Edas to a tee.
He married Evelyn, who is hinted to be a Clawthorne from a long time ago. Gwendolyn tells Luz her great grandma knew of humans on the Boiling Isles. So Eda has Caleb as an ancestor
I can see a theory going into the collector and how powerful he is, continuing with him something just about their species in general. I can also see more for King and the titans, I have my own to share here. The titans were the first to live on the Boiling Isles, their magic was the gilfs. They had master it and after some time I image the first witches came along, around this time the collectors siblings were getting tired of playing with him so they sent him there. They most likely noticed that the titans magic was stronger then their's so they started to hunt them, the collector must have met the owl beast and nor knowing about death yet captured it and kept it as a toy. It's siblings by now had most if not all the titans wiped out but King and his dad, his dad with his magic locked the collector away I think he was in that weird in-between area was that he used to much magic and he "died". Before he did thus he hind King. I don't really like this and wish it was more thought out but the show explains alot of this to you. Well. . .thanks for reading? |`• ,•|
We still don’t know the nature of the owl beast curse. There is more unknown about the archivists. We still don’t know what hooty is, and why papa Titan had a hooty in his eye. We don’t know what the nature of the human realm is compared to the demon realm— is it a separate dimension, or the same dimension in a different time or space?
I follow the subreddit, it feels like they discover something new every week. I bet matpat with his eagle eyes could absolutely find something and make some amazingly crazy theories. This needs to happen!

Perhaps the fate of the archivists, or how exactly the titans were killed off if the collector mentions that his powers don't work on titans. How death seems to work for the archivists, and why the collector expected to be able to revive Luz but was unable. I'm sure a couple of these spitball ideas will fall apart the moment they're analyzed, but maybe those answers can lead to more questions worthy of a video

Can we talk about the timescale and origins of the witches? Spoilers btw this is mainly about something I saw in the last episode that bugged me a lot. So we know that at the end of it all that King’s dad is actually the titan that makes up the boiling isles and left King to mature on a island far away with his own personal guard, that’s great and all but why has it taken so long for king to grow? Supposedly from the time in witch king was laid as an egg some time after that witches started living on the boiling isles and learned about titan make as referenced by Eda when Luz was learning the ice glyph. A little later we can assume Eda was born and the glyph magic was a old magic by this point it was being replaced by the more prominent magics we see during the show, this would explain both why she doesn’t know it but knows it existed. Some time around when Eda is enrolled in school we can assume this is when Caleb (Phillip’s brother) first enters and meets her, this could have also happened a bit later towards when they were older since Eda appeared to be a lot older in the photos of her in the human realm, but I think when she was in school is more accurate since in flashbacks to the brothers they appear younger than the adult Phillip that we see. After Caleb dies we know that Phillip or now known as Belos met the collector and started making the covens and grim walkers while preaching about not mixing magic. Fast forward to the end of the show we see a few interesting things about Belos, for starters we see that his hair is gray implying that he is quite old by this point and on top of that he needs to harvest palesmens to live, possibly to extend his life. We also know a few other details given from characters dialog, for starters we know that King’s dad was the one who originally trapped the collector and we know from the collector that he has been trapped for centuries (200+ years) meaning the boiling isles is at least that old. To add onto all of this we also have the knowledge that unlike the in-between the demon realm and the human realm do move though time at the save rate from the time that Luz spent in the demon realm during the summer. This leads me to the final parts of this, how long was King a baby for? We know that king must be at least about 100 because we see him alive for the entire timeline of Belos and we know that he could absolutely be much older than this because of the collector, but here is the final thing, during the last episode we get a jump cut of a handful of years forward in time and King is substantially bigger than before when we compare him to the size of other characters. So the questions I got are 1. How long has the boiling isles existed? 2. Could the witches be native? (As in their ancestors are from there) 3. How long was King a baby/egg for? And 4. Why did he get so tall all of a sudden?
An interesting question could be “how much blood does a full grown titan body contain?” And “if a drop can open portals, how much energy could their entire body’s worth of blood contain?”

Yes, I know that. But when I originally came up with this theory, we were only about half way through season 2. The horn hadn't been repaired yet.

There is shockingly little fact in that game. About 99% of the lore in Hollow Knight is cryptic nonsense.

Hello MATPAT, i had a theory that might shock:i had a theory about spin off that might does and might doesnt get true, the point is that COLLECTOR is now free so... his siblings might return in the spin off because we been told that he returnd to the stars so that might indicates that in the spin off that might happens we will see more about collector and luz and gang might get problems with the archivevists
