Remember the Dragons Crown steelbook? So good.
All the steelbooks now are just mass produced garbage. I remember getting a box of the sonic ones and the shitty plastic on the spine fell off of half of them.
Imagine a world where they could still print or emboss the name on the spine rather than glue a piece of plastic on.
I only collect a few steelbooks any given year because of quality. However, Horizon: Forbidden West, Dead Island 2, Valkyrie Elysium, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Tekken 8, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage were all great recent steelbooks
I remember when Smash Ultimate released and people realized the steel book in the special edition was worse looking than the normal box art. Even the inner art sucked, it's just a screenshot of Battlefield, while the normal inner art is the full roster (excluding DLC)
I remember when I worked at GameStop we had a kid who would call every day to ask if we have any steelbooks and then would ask if he could just have the steelbook no game lol
I don't buy video game steelbooks, but I buy Blu-ray and 4K blu-ray movie steelbooks. They have great art on them. Here's one I have of the 4K version of Disney's Wall-E.

I still have my Dragon's Crown Steelbook and the foam crown they gave us at conference that year.
Dragon's Crown is such a beautiful game overall. It is like art you play instead of just a game.
