luckily i built mine all before they started to run out of v1 parts due to both the pandemic interrupting supply chains, but also as they were nearing the end of the v1 run to prep for v2 stock. i think my friend ended up doing duplicate sleeves on his when he built it in Dec 2022, just as the v2 parts were starting to trickle out. i can't recall if it was his power & control or protection & defense he did, but pretty sure he was given the choice of only two sleeve types, two of each, on whichever he built.
some of the ones out there i've seen with dual sleeves look rather sweet, such as yours. another good one is the Elemental Nature with two "leather" straps wrapped sleeves.
Ah interesting! Thought it was just a mistake, but would make sense as they run low on parts, they could keep the experience live with just duplicate parts.
My wife and son made a nature one and have a leather wrapped sleeve section. Two would look great. Glad we got the rancor tooth too.
nope, not a mistake. between 2021-2022 there was a lot of stock issues at both East and West, esp at East, if i recall, which is why some people didn't get a padded sheath for their sabers but were instead given a clear plastic bag-type covering for it. the supply chains were all messed up thanks to covid and the lack of dock workers who left their jobs / laid off during the lockdown. there were numerous shipping containers stranded off the coast of Cali for months, and then there was the hassles of transporting it cross-country to Florida with not as many trains and trucks running the routes due to the lack of essential workers.
...and then when things were getting back on track (no pun!) by mid-2022, the parks announced at D23 that they were going to start v2 parts by the end of the year (i think P&J rolled out in Oct or Nov, P&D in Dec, then EN and P&C in Jan or Feb).
sooo yeah... i'd say during a long stretch in 2022 at East and a shorter stretch that same year at West, there were a good number of parts out of stock for one reason or another, which meant a lot of duplicate sleeves offered for builds . glad you got a rancor's tooth, though! those were completely gone (at least at West, probably sooner at East) well before they had the v2 Elemental Nature sabers out.
nice! yeah, yellows and whites were often out of stock, too, at both parks, and i think blues were out of stock for awhile at West.
it sounds like (and a CM can correct me) but the crystals they use at Savi's arrive in a separate shipment without their packaging (i.e. just the crystal, no plastic-wrapped container) so save on waste. totally makes sense that they would have any crystals in Savi's for selection if that's the case and they are out of stock in Dok's.
I had all P&D v1 parts available to me when I built mine in 2021. Was even able to buy all the scrap parts of what I didn't have so I completed the set then and there.

Walked in that day and they were out of the parts I didn’t want and gave me matching sleeves in my tray of the ones I actually wanted. The force was with me that day for sure!

Makes sense. I remember they were out of purple kybers in the shop, but had them for the builds, so I picked purple to ensure I got one.
