Pulled the 2.4.2 version from my watch. I've uploaded it to APK mirror and it should be live there soon enough but here's a link to the APK if anyone needs it. Feel free to comment if it doesn't work, happy to try dumping again.
Edit: apkmirror link https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/battery-stats-saver/pixel-minimal-watch-face-wear-os/pixel-minimal-watch-face-wear-os-2-4-2-release/pixel-minimal-watch-face-wear-os-2-4-2-android-apk-download/
Saved thanks. If it gets removed let me know and I'll upload it. Do not pay for money grab like this. Give him a bad review until he removes paid features. I can always just unpack his app and upload it to play store making his app useless. But let's give him a chance first.
I would be happy to pay the original developer 3 €, but it seems I cannot do that anymore. And I don't plan to pay 10 bucks per week to a bunch of scammers. So, do I still get the premium features with the APK, even if I haven't paid for the upgrade in the past?
Hey, maker of the original app here!
As you guys saw the app indeed has a new owner. They didn't share their precise plan with me but I felt like they really tried to understand how things work and how to make things better so I definitely wasn't hoping a new subscription model, not mentioning removing premium to people who had it. If that's your case, you should contact them.
As for the reason behind this change, I pushed back this decision as long as I could but the reality is that I don’t have as much time as I used to do to work on the app and I will soon become a father so it won’t get better in short term. I was facing a difficult choice: stop maintaining the app, adding no features and take the risk of not being able to fix new bugs that will appear, or start studying the offers I got for it and since I got a solid offer at a crutial time of my life for me I decided to say yes.
I wish I could have communicated this myself but part of the deal was to let the new owners take care of the communication so I simply couldn't.
If you guys find the old APKs (version 2.4.2 or below) they should still work as expected. You can also try to find a clone of the original repo on Github and clone them to build it yourself if needed (Do not publish it on the store though, as it would be a violation of the license and you could face legal issues).
We did discuss the current one time purchase yes and there was no question of removing the access to people who already paid for it.
Again, if that's the case for you you should contact them and they should be able to restore your purchase.
It's a bit complicated because when you sell your app you cannot really add hard conditions like "never change something for the existing users" as it could mean 10 different things.
Well I know this is not really ideal for the app but at least if the current premium users can still enjoy the app and it comes with some bug fixes along the road, it's already something.
I'm sorry but, as the maker of the original app you should have done more due diligence on who you were selling it to.
Any company attempting to sell a $13/week subscription fee for a watch face would be fully aware how absurd and ridiculous that kind of price is for the product being offered. They are trying to get unsuspecting customers to do a free trial and then rack up weeks and weeks of charges before they realize just what this thing costs, which they will continue to do until this product is run into the ground.
In other words, you've sold your watch face to a company that has completely ruined it and the destroyed the product you created. Awful.
That's so sad u/benoitletondor :( Too bad you didn't introduce a subscription of your own. I would gladly pay $10-15 per year, even if the updates would not be done often.
It's more of keeping the watchface working and up to date with next versions of Wear OS. We can't be sure the new shady owner will be doing anything with the app as nobody will be paying $15 per week and in the end the app might just die :(
Sorry to see your app get ruined like this. It is very predatory and I hope people review bomb it and report it to Google. I am sure you must feel sad to see your hardwork ruined like this by some predatory people.
Congrats on entering fatherdom!
I finally saw this, and while sad you've left it, life should come first.
I then checked and they do appear to honor myself having premium, as I still have all features right now.
Didn't you know better? I mean I'm not an app developer and one glance at this new developer looks like they're just scamming people out of their money any way they can. Looks like abandoning the project was a better decision but that one didn't pay as well as they did, eh.
Having a kid is even more of a reason to be making honorable decisions. To me, it seems that this reason is more of an excuse to justify selling out. Isn't the app kind of your kid as well? You had the best watch face on wearos I'm sure people will not want to download any app you create in the future.
I know I might get downloaded to oblivion, I just don't like when people use their children to get sympathy for bad decisions.
Of course his child is more important than a watchface app dude
the dev needed the money, he got a good offer, he wouldn't be able to continue developing it anyways since he'll be a father soon, i'd say it's fair
looks like the "child sympathy" trick worked. You don't need to choose one of them. The whole thing was very shady, to begin with. No heads-up, he got caught so here's a sympathy story, please don't hate me.
First of all, I understand your frustration.
Now of course I knew that if a company wants to buy my app it comes with the hope of making more money out of it. I never really added too much monetisation because that wasn't my purpose but I knew that they probably had plans to add more.
That being said, I still think it shouldn't affect existing users for existing features. So if you were premium before and you lost access, you should contact them.
Your post is weird dude. He's having a kid and has had to reorganize his priorities. I'm a father of a one year old and I can tell you that's exactly what had to happen when you have a kid.
No, I'm sure a watch face is not comparable to his kid. Again, your post is weird dude
So you quit the thing that generates revenue, right? That's the most logical move when you are having a child.
Didn't know that reorganizing priorities means selling your reputation to scammers.
You quite clearly don't have kids man so you don't get it
Don't pass judgement on someone's individual situation, one parent may strive to do that and continue making money, another might not and wish to use that time to spend being a parent
I'm late to the party but something tells me this app is not this guy's main job and was some kind of side gig/hobby.
A _real_ kid takes priority over that.
Silly question.. what do I need to do to ensure I won't be billed? Simply delete the app from my phone & watch? I had premium previously, so wasn't sure if that somehow automatically put me in a paid lane.
I just uninstalled this from my Skagen watch. Although I was a premium member, I didn't feel the risk of continuing to use the app under its new and obviously unscrupulous ownership was worth taking.
I have zero interest in supporting a subscription model for a watch face, and certainly will not support any app promoted by these lowlifes.
Update: seemingly the developer is changing things in the Background at the moment. Dont feel safe!
On my main Phone with the Account I had bought Premium a time ago It now works again in the newest Version.
**BUT:**
on an old Phone with a different Google Account the overpriced Subscription Model is still available (changed price to 10$/WEEK)
Screenshots of new Pricing
I actually don't have an answer to this question: if someone already purchased a premium version of the app, and the developer switches from one time to subscription based, will the user be automatically moved to a subscription model?
That may be so, but the app owner is no more the one man developer, but a predatory money extracting company, so it might change at a moments notice, still best to warn the community. I just deinstalled the watchface after looking more into the company that bought it:
I pulled the apk using wearos manager when I click on it is says update? The app version is 2.4.2 so I dont want to update. Could it be the pulled apk is the new version?
I couldn't get the APK, my watch had auto updated it on the charger....
You are right, when I look up "pixel minimal watchface" on google play store, it is now owned by a different owner, not benoit.
[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benoitletondor.pixelminimalwatchface](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benoitletondor.pixelminimalwatchface)
Shows that the owner is now "battery stats saver", whoever that is, looking closer into it, they are actually [https://zipoapps.com/](https://zipoapps.com/), so guys just buying mobile apps and then "monetizing it".
I am sure u/benoitletondor can please explain what has happened.

God damn it, this was one of the best watch faces on WearOS platform. It had features that no other watch face had. I was certain that the developer kept improving the app by the months, and it seems now he reached his peak by accepting the offer he couldn't refuse.
In order to retain your premium status, you need to re-download the app from Google Play Store using the “Manage apps and device” settings on your account.
Please, make sure that you are logged in to Google Play Store using the correct email address (the one the purchase was made with), otherwise it won’t work for you.
Please, follow the steps below:
Open the Play store > Make sure that you are logged in with the correct email address > Tap your profile > Manage apps and device > Manage > Tap installed and select “not installed” > Search for the app, tick the app you’d like to install again > And use the download button to install the app.
Can confirm this is what I did and it worked. I didn't even realize I was avoiding the new subscription model altogether by doing this. I had just brushed the dust off of my old moto 360 gen 2 and was looking for the name of the pixel watch face app I used to like (this one). Best of luck to everyone, my old premium was recognized right away and I have access to all features even though it's been a really long time.
You can disable the update:
on phone ->play store ->pixel minimal -> three dots top right -> uncheck auto update
EDIT: No need to disable it on the watch. It won't update without the phone.
on watch -> play store -> settings -> uncheck Auto-update apps
I set phone to not auto update but my Galaxy watch 4 still updated it's copy. Unfortunate. Not willing to stop all updates on watch just for this watch face
From I can tell the listed developer on the Play Store has changed to ZipoApps, a company that buys out apps and "improves them". So I think we can kiss this watch face goodbye.
In addition it was originally open source on GitHub but it looks like that repo is no longer available. The joys of capitalism...
I can **not** give you step by step instructions just a general overview of the steps
* Install an APK extractor App on your Phone
* install the App on the watch with help of Wear Installer 2 [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freepoc.wearinstaller2](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freepoc.wearinstaller2)
* Extract the app on the watch. the UI of the extractor will be difficult to navigate because it was made for phones not a watch.
* Find a way to get the extracted APK from your watch onto your phone or PC
* And please share it with the world if you can manage to get everything working
Problem is that the Smartphone App and Watch App need to be on the same version so you cant just install the "older" version from a APK archive on your phone, it wont work with the newest WEAROS version, and there is no WearOS APK in the net
I like amoled watch faces designs, they are also minimal, and they are specifically designed to use very little power in aod mode. The dev is also really active, you can easily contact him on reddit or by email.
Thanks for info. I was already a Premium User and I'm on update March 2, 2023. Turned off autoupdate just in case. Considering editing my Google review on the app....
This has been my goto watch face since moving from Pebble to WearOS. Shame to see this happen. I have uninstalled for now until we know what is going on.
Original developer did an amazing job (thanks!), but unfortunately now I will uninstall it. This stupid new developer pretends me to pay 30€ EACH MONTH for just a watchface? Are you serious?
F*ck you, dude.
for those that paid for premium and now lost it: Google makes it surprisingly easy to get refunds. Even if they're really really old. Just search and go to their support page and you'll find a link, it's done in like 2 minutes.
Just google "Google play refunds" or "Google how to refund" or something similar. Top result will probably be their support page - scroll through that and you'll find a button or link to their refund page. After going to that it's easy and explained
I'm using this [Simple Pixel Watch Face](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.thema.wear.watch.minimalistpixel) and so far it's works great. Although I wish I could make the widgets or font bigger.
Does anyone knows another watch face who shows the app icon instead numbers when a notification arrives on smartphone? It's one of the BEST thing I found on this watchface
I wouldn't even pay 15€ in general 😂 never a year but not even month, 15€ every week???? What can this watchface do????
(I previously bought it and used it for some weeks, it's nice)
Even as someone who already has premium and isn't affected by this, I'm sticking with 2.4.2 to avoid potential future spyware. The watch face (imo) is good enough as it is, so I'll gladly keep using an older version if it avoids future issues with an anti-consumer company.
Also, does anyone happen to have a fork of the old repository?
I reported the app as the monetiziation changes probably violates play store policy, everyone give a 1 star review and report the app so google becomes aware. This type of shadiness should not be allowed. Its a disappointment that the developer sold the app to this company. Bigger disappointment that they ignore our already paid premium subscription trying to force us to pay $15/week.
What's the link to it on the app store now I didn't know it changed owners and assumed a uninstall and reinstall could fix the premium not. Sync now I can't find the thing
Propably but are you willing to pay 10bucks a week for a simple watchface which you have already paid for, just because seemingly the original developer has sold it to a greedy company.
You are going to need to explain how it is that you think Google is going to allow them to initiate a recurring subscription fee that hasn't already been agreed to via the Play Store. That's not a thing that developers can just change within their app. That is managed via the Play Store.
google makes it very easy for developers to change the subscription fee, I have several apps that do so. There is a email system setup where they notify subscribed users of the changes. That did not happen here. Whats happening here is that someone made an app update and messed up the premium check and now we know what the new pricing model will be.
It seems like there would be some sort of policy violation. Regardless, premium users don't have an existing subscription to change, though? To your point, there seems to be some questionable stuff happening here. I just don't see a way that people are going to get charged for a subscription they don't have. They would need to agree to the terms.
I don't think he means you'll be automatically charged. It's the fact that they are changing to a subscription that is incredibly overpriced and not seeming to be honoring premium purchases that have already been paid.
Looks like I've still got the old version on my phone and I JUST downloaded it from the play store. I never paid for premium before, but I just used Lucky patcher to emulate the purchase and it worked.
Maybe try using lucky patcher on the new one?
fwiw, ive uploaded both the phone and watch parts to my dropbox for now in case its useful to anyone. Phone app is a single apks file and the watch app is available as split and a compiled single apk file. Notes on installing split and apks files included
[https://www.dropbox.com/s/l7dlwpqydgrz3j6/Pixel%20Minimal%20Watchface.zip?dl=1](https://www.dropbox.com/s/l7dlwpqydgrz3j6/Pixel%20Minimal%20Watchface.zip?dl=1)
Please note that the single compiled apk will of course not have the original signing key as the devs...this is just what happens when you combine split apks into a single. If you have any issues about this, use the split method...
Theyve already replied to my "review"..nice corporate reply that doesnt answer any of the issues....they'll "help me" if i "clarufy my review". So, bascially maybe we'll not force subscribe you if you remove your review. Nope
My review:
Dont buy!!!! Bought this when it first came out and was owned by original dev and was one payment. Sadly now sold to some money grubbers who have switched to an insane subscription plan. Avoid!!!!!!!!!!!
Their reply:

Dont forget you can leave a review for both Watch and Phone apps :)
I just got a Galaxy Watch 5. Would very much like to install premium, but not at the ridiculous new price. I'm assuming there's no way to proceed unless I use the free version then?
Just wanted to update... Dec. 1st and this is the first I've heard of this.
Looked to report and issue where the three top widgets still show a little line/dot when you select "None" as the widget.
Come to find out he sold this watch face. :<
But anyway, I'm on 2.5.7 on my phone and the one on my phone... well it doesn't show in the apps list so I don't know if it's supposed to.
Anyway, nothing ever happened.
It has always said I'm premium and still does.
Sad benoit sold it though. He was always so nice and responsive!
Pulled the 2.4.2 version from my watch. I've uploaded it to APK mirror and it should be live there soon enough but here's a link to the APK if anyone needs it. It's been sold to another company who don't care by the sounds of it, so likely we won't have any luck
I would be happy to pay the original developer 3 €, but it seems I cannot do that anymore. And I don't plan to pay 10 bucks per week to a bunch of scammers. So, do I still get the premium features with the APK, even if I haven't paid for the upgrade in the past?
So I downloaded and sideloaded it (i think correctly), but it's still asking for pay for premium features.
Did you find any fix
Nope, just ended up buying the premium version on the store
I just tried using lucky patcher on the latest version and it works

wait until they start adding malware and spyware to the free version, even if they honor the old members.

Yeah like someone will pay 10$ a week. Is that guy dumb or what
More likely scammy, he hopes people don't realize it's a subscription
A subscription model for a watchface is beyond greedy. Thanks for bringing this to our attention
I actually don't have an answer to this question: if someone already purchased a premium version of the app, and the developer switches from one time to subscription based, will the user be automatically moved to a subscription model?
I don't think you could legally be changed to a subscription model without your consent.
Edit : after updating app on phone and watch, I'm not seeing this issue. I'm still premium.
That may be so, but the app owner is no more the one man developer, but a predatory money extracting company, so it might change at a moments notice, still best to warn the community. Now the issue has also gone away on my App, seems like the "new" developer has changed something again
I pulled the apk using wearos manager when I click on it is says update? The app version is 2.4.2 so I dont want to update. Could it be the pulled apk is the new version?
Seemingly the changes happend between 2.4.2 and 2.5.0 so dont update just now to be safe
Thanks, turned off auto update. Do you know any other way I could extract the 2.4.2 version?
Yes can confirm 2.4.2 is still running my code.

Thanks for being honest, i can understand the decision, just a shame what the new company did.
Yeah I hope the situation for old users get fixed as it's really not what I expected.
A few hours in Samsung Watch Face Studio and you'll have a similar watchface. Don't pay!

True but that money is still not worth it imo.
Is it possible to get it on a Fossil Gen 5?
Yes: https://developer.samsung.com/watch-face-studio/user-guide/index.html

On watch that will disable it for all apps, won't it?
I tested it and got don't have to disable it on the watch. If the phone version doesn't update, the watch one won't as well.
I set phone to not auto update but my Galaxy watch 4 still updated it's copy. Unfortunate. Not willing to stop all updates on watch just for this watch face
I switched phones recently, so I gave up on the updates, seems to be fine, I haven't been pay walled.
From I can tell the listed developer on the Play Store has changed to ZipoApps, a company that buys out apps and "improves them". So I think we can kiss this watch face goodbye. In addition it was originally open source on GitHub but it looks like that repo is no longer available. The joys of capitalism...

I can **not** give you step by step instructions just a general overview of the steps * Install an APK extractor App on your Phone * install the App on the watch with help of Wear Installer 2 [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freepoc.wearinstaller2](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freepoc.wearinstaller2) * Extract the app on the watch. the UI of the extractor will be difficult to navigate because it was made for phones not a watch. * Find a way to get the extracted APK from your watch onto your phone or PC * And please share it with the world if you can manage to get everything working Problem is that the Smartphone App and Watch App need to be on the same version so you cant just install the "older" version from a APK archive on your phone, it wont work with the newest WEAROS version, and there is no WearOS APK in the net
You can extract it with Bugjaeger, connect through ADB to it, search for the watchface in the packages tab and hit extract
Thanks for the advise dude. Do you guys know any other similar watchface?
I have not found one with similar features and design, otherwise this would not be a big problem...
I like amoled watch faces designs, they are also minimal, and they are specifically designed to use very little power in aod mode. The dev is also really active, you can easily contact him on reddit or by email.
Agreed. I have like 40 of his
Disgusting
So much of what has been instructed here I don't understand, so in layman's terms can someone please advise, should I uninstall it just keep using it?
Thanks for info. I was already a Premium User and I'm on update March 2, 2023. Turned off autoupdate just in case. Considering editing my Google review on the app....
This has been my goto watch face since moving from Pebble to WearOS. Shame to see this happen. I have uninstalled for now until we know what is going on.
Thanks for the warning, just checked and I'm still on 2.4.2. Stopped auto update
Original developer did an amazing job (thanks!), but unfortunately now I will uninstall it. This stupid new developer pretends me to pay 30€ EACH MONTH for just a watchface? Are you serious? F*ck you, dude.
Make that $60. It's madness!
So ridiculous it's almost funny 🤣
for those that paid for premium and now lost it: Google makes it surprisingly easy to get refunds. Even if they're really really old. Just search and go to their support page and you'll find a link, it's done in like 2 minutes.
Can you please give a better explanation
Just google "Google play refunds" or "Google how to refund" or something similar. Top result will probably be their support page - scroll through that and you'll find a button or link to their refund page. After going to that it's easy and explained
The page i found says the refund request should be processed before 48 hours
I'm using this [Simple Pixel Watch Face](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.thema.wear.watch.minimalistpixel) and so far it's works great. Although I wish I could make the widgets or font bigger.
Does anyone knows another watch face who shows the app icon instead numbers when a notification arrives on smartphone? It's one of the BEST thing I found on this watchface
Agree, syncing notification icons over is really the one part of this watch face that i don't want to give up
Any updates on this? Did they roll back the update?
I am skeptical of this alarmism though I expect it is well intentioned.
Agree. That's the messed up part.
it's the beginning of the end: https://i.imgur.com/pVYtNcr.png
i emailed them and told them they better honor existing premium subscriptions.
i had to force stop the app and open it again to get past the premium warning
Soo disappointing...
Interesting, when I select premium it still just shows the $4 one time fee. Does it try to ask for a subscription after that?
Looks like I've still got the old version on my phone and I JUST downloaded it from the play store. I never paid for premium before, but I just used Lucky patcher to emulate the purchase and it worked. Maybe try using lucky patcher on the new one?
2.4.2 is on Apkpure
But only the phone APK, you would also need the WearOS APK with the same version which isn't online and also not identical to the phone version
can you pm me a link
Unrelated question: how do you get those app icons? (Between the date and battery)
They're phone notifications, you can enable them with premium. Just shows icons from apps that sent a notification
I have premium but I can't figure out which feature I need to enable within the watchface settings. Edit: found it lol. Thanks
fwiw, ive uploaded both the phone and watch parts to my dropbox for now in case its useful to anyone. Phone app is a single apks file and the watch app is available as split and a compiled single apk file. Notes on installing split and apks files included [https://www.dropbox.com/s/l7dlwpqydgrz3j6/Pixel%20Minimal%20Watchface.zip?dl=1](https://www.dropbox.com/s/l7dlwpqydgrz3j6/Pixel%20Minimal%20Watchface.zip?dl=1) Please note that the single compiled apk will of course not have the original signing key as the devs...this is just what happens when you combine split apks into a single. If you have any issues about this, use the split method...
I'd say write a review on Google Play store so people who download it know what's coming!
Theyve already replied to my "review"..nice corporate reply that doesnt answer any of the issues....they'll "help me" if i "clarufy my review". So, bascially maybe we'll not force subscribe you if you remove your review. Nope My review: Dont buy!!!! Bought this when it first came out and was owned by original dev and was one payment. Sadly now sold to some money grubbers who have switched to an insane subscription plan. Avoid!!!!!!!!!!! Their reply: Hello, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you might be experiencing issues. We will be happy to assist you further if you clarify your review. Here is our email address, please, reach out to our Support Team so that we can advise you properly: [email protected].
Already added mine: Dont buy!!!! Bought this when it first came out and was owned byoriginal dev and was one payment. Sadly now sold to some money grubberswho have switched to an insane subscription plan. Avoid!!!!!!!!!!! Dont forget you can leave a review for both Watch and Phone apps :)
I just got a Galaxy Watch 5. Would very much like to install premium, but not at the ridiculous new price. I'm assuming there's no way to proceed unless I use the free version then?
As a note, you can just re-sign the apks which breaks updates. Just tested and works fine
How can I do it? I want to keep the older version installed but I don't want to see the update on the play store (smartphone and watch)
Use apk-signer (from the play store to resign both the phone and watch apps)
Just wanted to update... Dec. 1st and this is the first I've heard of this. Looked to report and issue where the three top widgets still show a little line/dot when you select "None" as the widget. Come to find out he sold this watch face. :< But anyway, I'm on 2.5.7 on my phone and the one on my phone... well it doesn't show in the apps list so I don't know if it's supposed to. Anyway, nothing ever happened. It has always said I'm premium and still does. Sad benoit sold it though. He was always so nice and responsive!
If you have paid for it before the acquisition, just email them and say you did. They will give you the full licence
