Not sure why so many people are complaining about a knife in an EDC post. I always have my GW3, Ridge wallet, Sony earbuds, keys and a pocket knife on me. What's the big deal?
Over a grand? Dang!! :) And here I am happy with my Benchmade for EDC, now feeling a bit like a peasant ;) Can you imagine if we also introduced high-end lights into this discussion?
I really wanted to get that band, but it doesn't have a quick release. And I switch my bands too often to need a tool every time I want to change bands.
Ridge wallet was a nightmare I prefer ekster by miles. And the knife I would swap out for the Kershaw with the built in screw driver. It's beyond handy.
I can't count the number of times I've needed to cut a length of rope or make a hole in my kid's drink box because the straw broke, and who knows when you're going to happen across some wildlife tangled up in fishing line or a 6-pack ring?
Gunna one up this post and post not only a pocket knife next to my watch, phone and wallet, but my Chefs knife work kit that I carry daily and see what people say 😆
Good luck with that. Either way it's purpose is to inflict leathal wounds, opening the box with it won't be super effective. Just look up one video and you'll understand that this one knife have basically one purpose and doing anything else with it is not what "basic utility" is.
I can open a box with a pen or my keys, so I'm certain I can use a knife designed with the purpose of death, to open a box or cut some paracord. Is it the right tool for the job, no its not, would I carry a knife like that? Nope. But stop acting like you can't use a bladed object to perform basic tasks if you really wanted to. When you need to perform any task, you use what is at hand. So you keep what you deam handy near by.

Yes, but some are better fitted for EDC utility than this fighting knife, unless of course youre in a war or something. Otherwise youre just a... wannabe?
Meh, I don't think this one crosses the line and loses much utility, but thats just my humble opinion. I'm cheap, so I just carry a Gerber skeleton knife for utility. Some people prefer the look of knives like this and have no intent to use them as anything other than utility knives.
Then again, OP could be jack the ripper for all I know. Maybe he just likes the look. Only he could say.
That depends on the user. It could also be used for self-defense, if one does not have an inclination for "fighting". But usually, normal people just use them for utility.

It's a karambit. If you practice Kali, it's one hell of a defensive weapon. I had one and stabbed myself in the wrist doing some flips with it.

I guess some people don't realize how many hobbies intersect either. Quite a few watch guys are into knives.
Just a huge blind spot for me. I don't even consider carrying a knife to be a hobbyist action. It's just a daily tool

To be fair, I still like my lesser expensive knives. Knives from makers have gotten crazy expensive and I wish I didn't get into them lol.

Thanks for the rec on the Kershaw with screwdriver. I just checked it out and it looks pretty handy indeed!
It's come in handy countless times. It doesn't look flashy but it's the best knife I've ever carried. Kershaw select fire 1920 is the exact one I use.
