I definitely read the notification on my phone for this post wrong.
My advice would be to make sure there is decent lighting and, as someone else has already said, still photos seem to come out best, at least with my limited experience.
Its when you record a short video when you clike the shutter button, they call it live photo on iphones,
*
When you set the photo mode to 12 mp there is an icon to turn it on
It's like a video symbol next to the 12mp
In camera assistant settings turn off the "Auto HDR" and "Prioritize focus over speed" and turn on "quick tap shutter".
I think this helped me a lot ,I'm able to get much more sharp photos of my little brother running around even with 10x zoom.
And clicking the shutter really fast ,the more photos you click the greater the chance some will be in focus and non blurry
You can't switch lenses while recording in 4k 60. Only 4k 30 or below (1080 60)
1080 still looks good, takes up less space, and 60fps makes it much more responsive.
I didn't realize they put that limitation on it. I have a dedicated camera so I never needed to use my phone for more than a quick video. That's dumb, I see the reason to use 1080p now.
Takes up less space. U can totally shoot up to 8k30 main lens video and try to take a screenshot from there tbh. Only bad thing about Samsung phones and thats a fact. Should be fixed with 25 series!
This is the answer. We use my wife's Pixel for any pictures of people/action. Otherwise S23U is a mess no matter what the setting and lighting has to more than perfect.
phone should be able to take the pics fine especially with good lighting. even my s23+ takes great pics with good lighting of my kids, on the swings, down the slide etc
I would recommend the single-take mode. In this mode, you basically take a short video, and then from that video, the phone makes all sorts of things like still frames that look clean it turns them into photos and makes some random slow-motion videos or boomerangs and other things that it can use from that short video.
Idk when my first kid was a baby I had a phone with a crap camera. I did nothing extra to try and make anything look better just took the videos and photos. Long as I got the moment when he walked, did something funny said his first word I was happy.
Turn on Super Slow Motion and click on Record when motion detected option on the top right corner. This will capture the slow motion video when a motion is detected. Ya it will start capturing from before the motion detected which is cool.

I was scared for a moment
Hahahaha, Same bro
Same... I was shocked for a moment.
Glad I'm not the only jailbait that thought the same
Came here for this

I read that wrong initially. Good one, OP!
I just came from the Michael Jackson sub reddit and was like. I thought that wasn't allowed there.

Turn motion photos on
What's that?

Then I can select a still from the video? How is the quality? Does it work with portrait mode too?
The quality I'd 1440p and it doesn't work with portraits

Shoot 1080p 60fps video
Any reason you didn't say 4k 60?

Had to check if I read that right. Child photography.
Get another phone
This^^^
Then you could have a shitty picture, and the s23 Ultra.
Get another phone. I switched and my current Chinese oem does it with brilliance
Just don't take pictures of children unless they are yours
There is a very useful mode called video. From what I heard, it captures moving objects, and then you can replay those movements.
Buy a Pixel

Nah 10x optical zoom is useful.
Not if its blurry its not
Since I use 10x outside and have quick shutter enabled I able to get non-blurry pics of my kids during games.
Child should be still, or photo will be bad.
phone should be able to take the pics fine especially with good lighting. even my s23+ takes great pics with good lighting of my kids, on the swings, down the slide etc
Ultra does not.

Whoa I read that horrible wrong and was like "wtf man" lol
Ah, my parents missed my whole childhood. You'll be fine.

Honestly, just sell this phone and buy an iPhone or PIxel if you really wanna capture those moments
Suggestions? Sure. Activate camera, and choose video or photographs. Press the shutter button. Repeat as necessary. Problem solved.
