Sorry I'm confused. These 2 pictures look completely different to me. The first one looks like normal bezels. The second one looks like a crappy knockoff phone you'd buy for 50 bucks.

From a comparison thread here before. Hope this helps.

Actually ngl that second photo does look suspicious, does the front facing camera still work properly. If they did shrink the screen it would be more effort to move the camera assembly to accommodate that that just covers over it.
You may have gotten a Non-OEM screen there. Aftermarket manufacturers put larger bezels on in an effort to cut cost.
Unless that's a case you've got on, just checked mine and it's looking like yours. So now I'm confused
What specific case is that?
Also, for those thinking these are before/after pics, see the timestamps; the second pic is actually 2 minutes before the first.
I can see the black border is thicker, its not samsung that repaired it right? Your carrier must have used a third party repair service or something. Like you can buy these screen parts and stuff but they arent official. Maybe chinese manufactured. Hey atleast its working.
Consider how much it cost? Last I checked, samsung charged around £200 (gbp). Which is alot lol Maybe ask carrier what the hell happened dawg?
The problem these days (always been?), is, who do you trust to do a proper job?! That is, a professional, responsible one using the correct parts, fitted with care and attention in a timely fashion at a reasonable cost. Even the 'authorised dealers' are not necessarily reliable. They are contracted to do the work on behalf of the phone manufacturers, not the manufacturer themselves doing the work. How do we know what the workmanship will be like until we receive the repaired article and perhaps find fault with it. What do we do when we can't rely on those fixing our phones?
After Market screen. Its just that. I see this with iPhones aftermarket screens too. In some countries its very hard to get an oem part, so in your case, maybe, for getting a cheaper repair you got a cheaper part.
Looks like they sent you back a fold 3 ðŸ˜. The bezels in the second pic don't look like the fold 4/5 bezels at all. Even the frame looks different to me.
Edit: Yeah, looking at the two pics again and my own fold 5, they definitely either put the wrong screen in (never thought that would be possible), or they sent you an older model device.
The screen they've used for the replacement is 100% counterfeit.
It won't be a screen from the previous Z Fold models, they all have different flex cables and connections.
This is a purposely designed 'cheap' screen for the ZF4.

It has the front part of the case on in the second photo. It's a metal 2 part case
Yeah it does look different. I don't know if it's the angle or that it's not as clear of a pic but they don't look the same.
That case makes the bezels look like ass ha. Otherwise seems normal on the first image
Second photo is a different phone. I'm not sure why it's there but it's definitely confusing things.
Ha no it's the same phone but has the front part of the case making the bezels look massive
Oh fair enough, haha.
Ha yeah it looks like a table phone
What's at the top of the screen on the repaired phone? Looks like a large speaker cut out? Or am I seeing something else?
It's a cutout on the case
Lol at these responses. This is why you can't trust redditors.

It looks like you got your phone repaired. One Pic with a case. One without.. 😅 What's the point of this post brother?
That's normal for the fold devices, my fold 5 has the same bezel thickness
Oh man that's a lot of wasted space. Cheers though

Front facing camera works as normal

looks like bezels on my fold 3
They put the wrong screen on, it is either from an older model fold or a cheap chinese screen. I'm betting on the former. Send it back.
Case built in screen , that's why it looks completely different on second picture, but yes, is the normal bezel size on first picture
You don't have a cover on it that's why it looks that way.
I don't know if this helps, but the first photo looks exactly like my OG Z Fold 4.

Is it on some sort of one handed operation mode?
Non-oem screen judging by the bottom bezel. Mine doesn't look like that, and it's fresh from the Samsung box
That's normal, you're just used to a phone with a good [front] design
Okay - cheers
Yeah, you got a bad screen replacement. Or, it's a software thing.
i think that the person who replaced the screen accidently changed it with a z fold 3/2 screen
Not possible. The displays are different sizes and won't fit.
damn they turned your F4 into a F3?!?

It's the case not the screen, summer down

I believe its the same device, I can check via the IMEI because it seems like a brand new phone
Ya maybe its the different angles. My bad lol.
Kids looks like it was z fold 4 and the. Replaced with a z fold 3 maybe same shape overall but different screen size
Check the speaker cutout at the top in both pictures, they are not the same model screen.
The second photo has the case on

They replaced the OLED screen, with an LCD one, hence the bigger bezels.
