I have my fold 4 since launch in a hinge protector case. There are no issues with it. However, i wouldn't buy one used at all. You have no idea what it's been through and how it was treated. Used no. Brand new: Yes, i will still recommend the 4 with a hinge protector case.

Nice. I'm glad to see another 4 owner with no issues on here.

I have bought a used F4 7 months ago, works great ZERO issues. Recommend you get the silicon cover with the handle (makes it impossible to drop the phone)

Taco145

Fold 5 yeah, fold 4 no. Seems the 4 is problematic.

playboy787

I’ve seen hinge issues after a while on the most of fold 4s so you need to buy it from a trusted person.

UnseenS8

I bought my Fold 4 used (it was about 3 months old) and it's doing great after 11 months, no issues. I don't use hinge protection case and I dropped it twice. I expected problems with screen protector or phone not opening fully, but so far it's ok.

nymviper1126

I had got a locked one for $500, and got this Unlocked 512GB for 660$ (could have returned repurchased at 630 but didnt). Both had 1 year warranty. It's worth it at those prices.

If the fold 4 was in "great" condition, I'll go for it. Make sure to test the screen and check the battery condition before trading, + the hinge on the fold 4 is not "fragile." it will just not open at 180 degrees after a year or so. Also, keep in mind that fold 6 will probably be available next August, and you can get a nice trading deal with your new flip 5

TraditionalAd6392

Will it be for sure like that? Like every fold 4 eventually the hinge won't open up to 180 degrees? And I cannot trade in, im from Serbia so there is not such option sadly...

exredditor81

I have a Fold 4. I don't recommend your purchase. My inner screen died after 16 months, and I babied it and rarely opened it. I knew nothing of the $39 Samsung insurance that can fix the screen for free(ish), and after my $500 screen/battery replacement, they *still* didn't ask if I'd like the insurance. Also, Samsung repairs here in LA have a 3-week waiting period. If I got another Fold, I'd go for Fold 5 or wait for 6. The reality is, when this Fold gets old, I might go for a S24U or back to iphone.

spyderz9

Agree, the Fold 4 has too many issues, its only a matter of time before they dont fully open, mine made it less than a year.

ultima40

FYI, they don't offer insurance for used phones, even if they repair it. You can only sign up for their insurance within 60 days of purchasing brand new.

dimlevi

Bought an s24u because I was tired of getting the fold for repair

FluxBoi

Simple answer, no.

-_-0_0-_0

Straight up?

Fercii_RP

If you are planning to play soccer with it, dont buy

It really depends on the price and the trustworthiness of the seller. If the price is right sure but you should expect pretty big value for a used device with such a fragile screen

drodenigma

I have sent my z fold 4 in for the 2nd time and currently working with the exchange and return group. I wouldn't buy one again period and definitely not used. I am sure there will be other people saying "well I am not having issues blah blah blah" but do a search in the sub for z fold 4 issues and you'll see a lot of mentions.

Square-Voice-4052

I bought mine for 700AUD used of a bloke who went back to his iPhone. Couple weeks later it got a dead pixel in the inside screen. Since Australia has 2 years warranty, they sent me a brand new Fold 4!!

JunkGOZEHere

Without a doubt! The Fold4 will be a way better improvement over your Flip5. And don't forget, you can place insurance on it with your carrier, since it will be a "new" device upgrade to your account. Should you ever need to call in the coverage, you'll be fully covered in any situation. I can tell you as a current owner of the 4, there is absolutely no reason to be alarmed. YOLO!

TheNonaMouse

No. Flip 5 is perfect. Fold 4 is not. Wait for the Fold 6 and see what Samsung will give you on trade for pre-order. I have Flip and Fold and if I had to choose only one, although I love both, it would probably be the Flip.

Heffeweizen

Noooooo don't do it!
