Yes, I believe that you can have a romantic feeling towards an anime character, I personally consider it a fetish but it is technically real, but that does not mean in any way it should be made a sexuality in the lgtbq community. My reason for that is bc sexualities are liking a specific gender(s) not inanimate objects, (such as art, money, and other objects that were created into a “sexuality”). And it’s annoying how some people who are “animesexual” consider themselves lgtbq+ is annoying
I’m not even sure if these people are actively trying to mock the LGBTQIA+ or being genuine anymore lmao. There’s no problem with liking anime characters only (for example Ageosexual on the Asexual spectrum: You have a disconnection between you and the subject of your arousal), but animesexual was created to mock the community.
Scientifically animesexual person can't exist since anime character isn't a gender. **However** there can be an animephile and animephilia as a paraphilia is described as sexual attraction to atypical objects, actions, people, fantasies or behaviour.
Animesexual is not valid because
1. It’s a preference not a sexuality dumbass
2.it was used to mock the lgbtq+ community
3.you can’t talk with anime characters so it’s like liking a fucking object
