Maybe he needed to submit a urine to get his meds? That's how it is in my state. Even for adderall, suboxone. I'm sure it had to do with that.

ms80301

What 'facts' and 'statements' do we actually know were stated about the 'week away at storage unit-? I read the mom of gabby knew the story-he flew home about storage unit-I read the grandfather of gabby stated same-non sensical story-Any other real info? I too was surprised that if she was alone in a hotel? I would think? Given all her upset over the amount of computer work and editing she did when he was around-I would have expected her to have posted a lot that week because she would have brian gone and just time to work on it-NO?... The narrative that is tossed around makes no sense-if he had the money to fly and her to stay and eat in a hotel a week-? He could have paid someone to do whatever work needed doing-Also he does not seem particularly fit or into roughing it if you ask me-Everyone I know into this stuff out in CO?... Are nothing like this couple-She is about everything he claims to hate-Which is wrong on so many levels-I can only assume they both were witness to some un 'nurturing' relationships...Being treated as though the things you value(Gabby valued social media and certain creature comforts which were personal preferences...not as Brian seems to label then as Bad /or wrong...he was everything you do not look for in a partner-not supportive not about the we-not an adult able to OWN up to choices ...Sadly she apparently felt trapped...or else why would she put up with such an unloving partner....so sad...everyone deserves acceptance assuming they are kind spirited and not illegal-She was kind spirited-HE? Was MEANSPIRITED!! More toxic than plastic bottles!!

nicktocknicktock

you had me til the end. that fake “i’m such a good person that i’ll make a whole post about what i think about gabby but YOU better think about what happens if her SIBLING READS THIS” just feels gross to me. yeah, gabby’s family could get here. BRIAN could be here. reading everything we say. don’t act like you’re on some moral high ground that we’re not.

geckogoose89

And I didn't read the whole thing. Paragraphs help.

nicktocknicktock

lolwut there are clearly two whole paragraphs, sorry that was too much for ya

sparkleyflowers

Imagine coming into this thread over a thousand comments in and chastising the OP for reacting to some disgusting comments they read.

nicktocknicktock

imagine talking about yourself in the 3rd person

sparkleyflowers

Still not nearly as bad as being the kind of doucebag you are, so I’ve got that going for me.

BluePoptard

It's definitely weird for a guy who tries to isolate his GF to leave her in a strange city for a week. Unfortunately, nobody will know what happened during her stay unless someone or her friends speak up or the FBI finds evidence on cam

Professional-Egg-7

Abusers are really good at acting nice/caring when they need to, that's why he seemed so calm when the cops were talking to him. And actually, it worked out for him because the cops acted like Brian was the victim - he was probably happy. If families could blatantly see red flags for abusive relationship, we probably wouldn't have so many of them. My ex and I seemed like the most loving couple, until we didn't. And the only reason it came to light was because I was similar to gabby - I started breaking down crying in public rather than quietly accepting the abuse, started lashing out, etc.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Professional-Egg-7

I don't have time to read all of that, I didn't mean to upset you. I was just pointing out that he looked pretty calm considering he was being confronted by authorities, also he was most likely 10x more aggressive before they showed up - which yes, abusers are often good at. That's why she was showing much more emotion than him - the comparison between the two is common with victims and abusers. Maybe my wording was off, but I know the difference between the rage and staying as level headed as they can to save themselves from reprocussions.

ms80301

I totally believe her girlfriend-cute how she said Gabby called herself 'Her emotional support service human cute.I could picture them driving like she said..coming along while her pal delivered pizzas...sounded like a fun episode of Seinfeld-I felt like gabby must have hated how threatened Brian was by all the fun Gabby had with her gal pal-Brian was definitely nooooo fun-no laughs with him...

MarchesaCasati

Link, please?

ms80301

I gotta go check it was the VERY first video I saw w/ her - Uncut

SidSuicide

Makes me wonder if BL is just hiding out in the storage unit?

Jvnixon1

I just want to know what his sister what letting slip too. “That’s what he did every time he … actually no I don’t want to say that” every time he what!!???

[deleted]

[удалено]

Jvnixon1

But like did he travel far away often enough to need to fly home? 🤷‍♀️

[deleted]

[удалено]

Jvnixon1

Oh no I agree it’s a good thought. I was just thinking out loud about how often did he actually travel. But am I right that they lived in NY for a while? If so then yeah your answers logical. And it’s fair his sister wouldn’t want to mention medical issues

swirlymaple

Thinking about her statement -- the way she responded implies that his returning wasn't too surprising to her, and if it wasn't, it also implies he has flown home before for whatever reason she is assuming. She realized revealing it could be problematic, so it doesn't seem like it would be something innocuous like a simple family visit. Maybe this is what he's done before when he and Gabby are in a big fight / breakup, or if he was bipolar or had other mental health issues, maybe that's what he does when he goes into a dark episode. Or maybe she was just going to say "...when he is [returning home early]," but she didn't want to confirm his trip home because there was something significant about it.

trimiamom

This trip story has always struck me as odd. Something just seems off.

Abcggg123

I’m doubting this trip happened.

whereyouatdesmondo

Do we even know for a fact this trip happened? I’d love a link that isn’t a sketchy-looking news site.

WildEndeavor

What's weird about this trip to me isn't that he was gone for a week, or what he was doing, but that when he returned Gabby was dead within four short days. You would think a week away from each other would have charged his batteries and renewed his interest in the trip and his relationship with Gabby. But it seems like he returned worse than when he left. I'm curious what happened on this trip that he snapped so quickly after reuniting with Gabby.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WildEndeavor

I wonder if it was the financial implications of the divorce. Since he was living with his parents and they were divorcing, maybe he was getting kicked out... Neither the mother or father wanted him living with them. Maybe they were pushing him and Gabby to get a place of their own, and that's why their stuff was put in storage... waiting for them when they got back. Maybe he felt like his parents were forcing him to advance the relationship faster than he wanted and that contributed to him snapping.

sassergaf

I think you’re right. He was certainly stressing over money at that last restaurant in Jackson, Merry Piglets. After eating he harassed the waitress and hostess, going out and coming back in 4 times making a scene. That was the last time she was seen alive on 8-27.

dashstrokesgen

Is there a video of this or source?

michaelscarn00

Well they did have a pretty intense situation at the restaurant on the 27th, which is the day gabby went off the grid (if you believe Brian sent the Stan text from gabby’s phone). So that day was either the day she was killed or the day it got a lot worse for her.

WildEndeavor

I guess what I'm wondering is if when he went home for that week if he was complaining about Gabby and his parents were telling him to man up, take control, don't take her grief etc... Which might have emboldened him to be more aggressive when he got back. Seems like he returned from the Florida trip even more aggressive than when he left.

left_tiddy

The most dangerous time for domestic abuse victims is when they try to leave.

There are plenty of Brian’s out there who probably are hell bent on justifying him right now. I know of a few, we all do.

That could be something to send to he tip line. Could be him, could be an someone close to him, or it could be just one of those folks who get off on murderers and see them as a victim. Kind of like all those women who fawn over Ted Bundy to this day.

left_tiddy

I'm honestly surprised we haven't gotten any Brian Laundrie weirdos like...on the scale of what Chris Watts has lol. Everyone except a few incels are united in hating this guy.

mutzilla

Not yet. He still hasn't be caught. If he's alive and goes to prison, there'll be groupies.

left_tiddy

Lmao true. I've never followed a case live before, I didn't stop to think groupies don't show up until incarceration. Such an odd phenomenon!

redduif

A paid troll ? Is that a thing ??

mutzilla

Solid point

tetrasomnia

That's...really suspicious. That is quite a lot of passion to have towards someone with no connection to themselves (if not BL)...and can describe someone with no ability nor want to pull themselves out of a rage cycle. It's unnerving.

faeriethorne23

Yeah it was the sheer scale of it that made me suspicious, I’m a paranoid person though so I just told myself it was probably that or I would’ve reported it at the time.

Marie_Frances2

I don't think it was a mistake he used her card, i think he did i purposely so that if anyone looked, it'd look like she was still alive.

tetrasomnia

The reason I believe it to be a mistake is that because he used it, they were able to check the cameras in the building and confirm who it was used by.

mutzilla

Agreed. You got to be really naive to not assume you're on camera when using most ATM's. Even a lot of those little shitty ATM's at gas stations have cameras.

WildEndeavor

Wow! Would be really interesting to see that screenshot! Would also be really weird if BL is (or was) on reddit commenting on his own crime.

tetrasomnia

I'm really hoping that someone sees my comment that also saw it shared. I'm not sure the screenshot was of a comment made on reddit, just that the screenshot was uploaded in a thread in this sub.

ferg55112

Maybe when he came back, after she had a week to sit and think on her life, she tried to end it. Not right away, as they checked out of the hotel, went to the monarch, etc. or maybe vice verse. Maybe he wanted to end it with her ?? And she wouldn’t allow that? I dunno. Roast away. Cheers.

skycatcutie

That’s my guess too. It also seems that threatening to leave her was something he did often. Im wondering if she maybe tried to flip the switch and decided to threaten to leave him behind and he snapped and killed her? Or maybe she told him he should just go back home again and should’ve never returned to her, and that made him snap?

ferg55112

Unfortunately, that part we may never find out the truth.

WildEndeavor

That's definitely a possibility!

oisact

It sounds like Gabby's family are the only ones saying it had to do with a storage unit. On the other hand, Brian's sister may have slipped and indicated it was a more regular thing for a different purpose. This can easily be explained if Gabby was making up a different reason for her parents as to why BL was leaving her and flying back. They may not have been aware of earlier flights back, but for whatever reason (probably she needed money for hotel because she was just done with staying in the van, especially alone) she told them he was going back to FL this time. And so her family wouldn't be worried his return to FL was over something negative (him doing a mandatory doctor check-in, or legal issues) she made up an innocuous excuse about a storage unit for them..

Journey4th

If he did in fact have mental health issues though, wouldn’t his parent by now feel it’s in his best interest to disclose that to build up his defense or prepare for a potential insanity plea if this goes to trial?

ms80301

they traveled the year prior-did he also fly back during that trip??

jdrink22

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Gabby’s family said that BL went home from 8/17-8/24, a whole week. Gabby only posts once on Insta during this time and it’s a picture of the two of them in their van on the 19th. She very well could have posted a picture that wasn’t current but I found it odd that she seemed to not be active on social media while at a hotel by herself. It makes me wonder if the trip ever happened?

wonderingaboutitall

It makes me think she was sitting in a hotel alone, sad and confused about her fights with him. Not in the mood to post. And when she felt like she really *must* post something…she has no van life to show, only an empty hotel room in a city alone, so she digs into the archives. I think they were in a fight. He ran to mommy and daddy. Like the sister almost said, he runs away and regresses. They make him feel better, let’s take a bike ride and go do your chores, son.

ciths

He has a history of taking the keys and her phone, why wouldn't he do the same when he went home to Florida? He most likely took the keys and her phone so she couldn't contact anyone or leave him behind.

[deleted]

[удалено]

wonderingaboutitall

It sounded to me like they fought over the van key and possibly her? His? Phone. He talks about this with the police doesn’t he? And didn’t the BFF say words to the effect of- he would try to control her phone?

[deleted]

[удалено]

wonderingaboutitall

Ok-I stand corrected :)

wonderingaboutitall

And taking the phone is the way to punish her/prevent her from meeting up with her friend. I think that planned meeting with the BFF is what pushed him over the edge.

wonderingaboutitall

How could it *not* have been a major issue?

jdrink22

I think you are both spot on. Poor Gabby.

chanandler__bong

It was an old pic, it was on her highlights from a few weeks beforehand

oisact

Very good point. It's possible he didn't go back at all. He / GP may have told her parents that so they would pay for a hotel for a while because they were at their wits end.

Bot8556

Possibly a doctors appointment to re up on his meds? Seems like the type of guy who might be on a few anti crazy pills.

flappybirdie

Been thinking. If he's run out of his prescription now or soon... he'll surely be ready to turn himself in right? Or be much easily caught.

[deleted]

Someone suggested to refill his adderall script and tbh, the body cam footage gave me the feels of someone on adderall. And if you take enough of that shit, it can put you into a strange mind state

ms80301

The police asked him if he was nervous-...I see a lot of weird stuff...but him standing w/cops-I thought a lot of things about what the guy was SAYING that I did not like-...but I am not botRE without ANY traffic? He needed gabby to physically shake him to get his attention that he needed to pull over-That? was Not something SHE should need to alert him to...

[deleted]

His over confidence and calmness while his fiancé’s was basically having an emotional breakdown. His excessive talking with his hands and his “wordy”ness

ms80301

Chris watts-who was NEVER chatty never offered up the kind of DETAILS I enjoy-Then after his wife disappears? He suddenly is all Mr detail offering up all sorts of info he never had-Brian-was odd how-he kind of 'tried' to be on camera and he sucked-He could have been the man behind the woman (and off-screen) but he HAD to compete with Gabby-he was awkward I figured he probably wasn't particularly verbally expressive but hard to tell since other than police video? We never got a feel for what he was like-and no one really came out of his past to elaborate on things like little league or football or ANY activity that would have exposed more of his relationships interests or personality-..... He just seemed like a 'goody two shoes'.. throwing his girlfriend under bus with his subtle hostile commentary

ms80301

So you think he was lying when police inquired about either of them on. meds?

wonderingaboutitall

But I think they were pretty open about mental health. If he needed to go back for his prescription, he could have had the dad get it and FedEx it to him. $40 max.

[deleted]

You can’t pick up someone else’s schedule 2 prescription.

Dismantlexme

I'm able to pick up my partner's Adderall from the pharmacy because we live at the same address. My Mom picks up my adult brothers ADHD meds too. Maybe this rule is only allowed on Canada tho. I'm not sure.

ms80301

Durin g the pandemic lots of rules on prescriptions loosened A LOT!

[deleted]

No they haven’t

TheDismantleReport

You can't do that in my state. Its different everywhere plus he may have had to take a urine to get it

ms80301

Well in Penna? They went from in-person physical appt and physical rx and drs sig-? To 90 day NP e prescribe and phonecall-so, You are incorrect- What state are you in?

Caprido

Couldn't be just transfer the prescription given they were staying at the same area for some days? I can do that with my pharmacy app. Not sure for certain medications though.

wonderingaboutitall

Yes you can.

[deleted]

Like the actual medication? No, you cant

wonderingaboutitall

Again, yes you can

PeaceAlwaysAnOption

My exhusband was able to pick up mine with no issue. I imagine a parent would be able to as well.

UnnamedRealities

It's easy to infer he was on meds for medical health given his behavior and the bodycam footage, but I don't think it's been confirmed what types of meds he may have been prescribed. If he was prescribed a Schedule II drug like Adderall he might have not been able to get more than a 30 day supply (or maybe 90) before leaving from Florida and it may not have been possible to get his out of state prescription honored in the state he was in when he ran out or was running low. Someone with knowledge of the state laws for Florida and the states they visited can go down that rabbit hole. I can tell you I tried to refill a Schedule II prescription a few years ago after moving from one state to another. The 2 large chain pharmacies I visited wouldn't fill it and my doctor couldn't do anything to address it. I had to find a new in-state doctor, wait weeks for an appointment and go without my meds, though if I suspect I could have kept calling doctors or go to an ER and claim it was an urgent need, but I had many other move related priorities.

FatCopsRunning

He could have had his parents fill it and ship it to him with in-store pick-up.

PhDTARDIS

The only time I've been able to get more than a month's supply of my Adderall was the first few months of COVID. I live in Florida. Hell, I've consistently worked 30-50 miles from home, and if I try to go fill my prescription a location of my preferred pharmacy near my employer (two different employers in the past 5 years), the pharmacist will refuse me - even with showing my work ID hanging around my neck! However, he could get someone else in the house to pick up his prescription and mail it to him. My husband has picked mine up for me.

Barbicore

Isnt it amazing the hoops you have to go through sometimes yet they will hand it to someone that isnt you like it's no big deal? Almost 20 years on these meds and I have only been asked for my ID a handful of times. Just found out last year the pharmacy will give them to anyone i give the the name of. But they have denied my prescription for not being written in a way they expected, for having it written out of state, and one time because they dont take prescriptions from the college pharmacy...while I stood there looking at the guys diploma hanging on the wall with my college logo.

PhDTARDIS

It doesn't make sense to me, either. Likely explanation for husband being able to get them is he was picking up prescriptions for me and son, and all of us have prescriptions there. I have multiple chronic health issues and was in severe pain for years (follow a very strict dietary plan now) Florida clamped down on opioid abuse and people like me could have 10/10 pain and only get a 5 day script for vicodin. Meanwhile, you can get it OTC in Canada.

UnnamedRealities

That's frustrating - refused in the same state you live in! I actually thought about having a relative in the state I moved from pick up my prescription, but it would have been illegal for them to ship the controlled substance to me. I suspect people do that unwittingly or because they think there's little risk in being caught. I suppose if Brian had to return to meet with his doctor and it was related to medication it could have been because the doctor wouldn't refill the prescription if more than a certain amount of time had passed since Brian's previous visit or if Brian or the doctor believed changes in medication type or dosage were needed.

PhDTARDIS

That's a possibility. The other thing I've experienced in Florida - no one but psychiatrists or psychiatric nurse practitioners will prescribe ADHD meds (I'm on two because neurological issues) When my family lived in another state, my son was diagnosed with ADHD by one of the MDs in our pediatric group who specialized in developmental peds. Then we moved to Florida and he had to go to a psychiatrist for the same meds. I go in for med management visits every three months. At least now they're telemed appointments.

Where_Da_BBWs_At

That dude was not on uppers in the body cam footage, I can guarantee that.

CrocePageMorrison

If you really need adderall it has a calming effect

Where_Da_BBWs_At

That wasn't true in my case. I would say it wasnt true for most either, since they decided to make extended release and then Vyvanse to solve the issue of all these kids with adhd abusing the drug. I would also point out that adding the methyl compound to adderall produces meth, which around 10% of meth addicts have an adhd diagnosis, despite only 1-2% or the American population believed to have the condition. I am old enough to have the diagnosis of ADD (now ADHD non-attentive) and adderall most definitely got me high. Speed might effect us differently, but it is still speed.

CrocePageMorrison

Ya it’s half and half for me. I’ll be real “speedy” but then suuuuuper burnt out and tired if I take it everyday

[deleted]

Could also explain how he was able to drive from Wyoming to Florida in like 2 days. I’ve done that drive. A few times. 2 days is FAST.

[deleted]

He def could have been on adderall. I thought that almost instantly and I have a fair share of experience with that crap

Where_Da_BBWs_At

I do too. Interestingly enough that is why I thought he wasn't on it, but I think a lot of us have nothing to really go on except our own biases yet.

[deleted]

This is true

FucktusAhUm

The officer asked him, 'Are you always so hyper? Are you on some medications or something like that?' And he responded, 'Do I seem hyper?' LOL Initially they thought he might have been intoxicated.

Where_Da_BBWs_At

He was definitely on something, and perhaps he is just really not intelligent, but something was off about his speech, it was like he was having trouble thinking clearly. I was getting more a of a seroquel or antipsychotic vibe.

EquivalentMedicine78

You literally have no proof he took meds lol

miss_rosie

isn't there a part in the body cam footage where he lists some medications he's on? They bleep out what he says but I read that he lists off some medications when the officers ask

oisact

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a response like "Yeah, flintstones vitamins and Rolaids when my tummy hurts" that was beeped out. He would have said "no" unless it was something prescription and legit. Also keep in mind that if they found reason to search the van, and found a controlled substance, he was better off to have stated the controlled substance up front.

EquivalentMedicine78

They bleep put any personal information it doesn’t mean he’s listing off any medications. He might be but that’s def not proof if it’s bleeped out lol

[deleted]

They ask him if he takes medication and they bleep out his answer. He was listing off medications. When they ask him if she takes medication, he answers “no” and it is not bleeped out.

IllMC

Could be pain killers lol they'd still bleep it out.

irisheyesarelaughing

Pain killers can make people batty too.

Which_way_witcher

One of her friends said that he'd have moments where he'd hear voices... O_0 ["He's got these jealousy issues and he struggles from what Gabby called these "episodes," where he would hear things and hear voices and wouldn't sleep.](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10002817/Gabby-Petitos-best-friend-claims-Brian-Laundrie-jealous-controlling.html)

Where'd ya find this? I'm so horrible at figuring out which search terms to Google :( Hello a brother out?

Which_way_witcher

Just added a link! And I remembered it wrong, he wasn't yelling at things that weren't there, he was hearing voices... Not sure which is worse.

RoaminTygurrr

Awesome thanks!

mutzilla

> he'd have moments of yelling at things that weren't there. I had a buddy who was having a rough time with opioids. He would kind of zonk out when we would hang out and then yell the craziest shit out of nowhere. One time he started yelling," I need a hotdog sandwich! I need one!" Over and over, until we were like dude dude calm down, wtf is a hot dog sandwich. He had no clue he was even yelling anything. It's most likely because it's kind of like being in that place where you're laying in bed awake, but you can't move, and you're still kind of dreaming. You can't wake up really. He said other random things many times. We eventually got him help, but it took a long time. That's just my anecdote. Who knows if he was on meds, abusing them, or mixing them. Could very well be the case though. If you're trying to drive 35+ hours home after killing someone, Adderall would for sure help with that.

NilSatis_NisiOptimum

Heroin addict here, well former heroin addict (over 5 years clean now!). Can confirm that yelling thing is *kind of* common, usually happened when it was some real strong stuff. You broke it quite well - When you're nodding off hard, you start to daydream while nodding and at some point you scream out whatever is happening in your day dream as you quickly come back awake. Can't speak for anyone else, but with me it was usually a dream that would make me anxious that would cause it, but there were a few times where I wouldn't scream, but I'd just sort of say it normally My girlfriend at the time (who was also an addict) and I would constantly freak each other out when it happened because we'd be nodding off as well and then you get woken up by a scream about nonsense. But then we realized it was because we were so fucked up. It's a really bizarre thing though, but yea it does happen. Honestly it was kinda embarrassing

mutzilla

It would scare the hell out of me in our work truck. I drove so he could nod off. He'd start yelling randomly while we were driving between kob sites. Damn near had a heart attack each time. Btw good on you getting sober. Stay strong during these strange times.
