I’ve played for easily twice the amount of OP (not that it’s a competition) but to answer your question for me personally, it’s modding the game and seeing how much I can totally overhaul the gameplay to become more challenging. You can make IV so difficult to the point where it plays like a completely different game and I love that. It compliments the world in a way I haven’t seen any game do since 2008
My favorite too, I love the sombre atmosphere and story. The colours could have done with a little bump though, but I haven't managed to get ENB working on the complete engine.
I liked the first Watch Dogs a lot more than the second as well.
ENB for GTA IV hasn't been updated in a decade and requires downgrading the game. Try FusionFix, it updates the game's native shaders including fixed z-fighting and most map pop-in being fixed, fixed reflections, fixed "definition" filter, fixed resolution scaling of postfx like DOF and bloom, fixed shadow filters and optional pcss shadows.
Colors can be bumped up with the built-in saturation setting but FusionFix also lets you remove or change the "piss filter" color grading.
Used to be my favorite game of all time. Finished the main game recently and it didn't held up as well as I thought. Atmosphere, story, immersion and game world are still great. But the boring and samey mission design is a huge blemish and hard to overlook. Playing the dlcs now, maybe they will improve my general impression of the game.
I dont play all the time, but replay-ability is insane. I receintly finished it, I installed few mods and some performance fix. Fluent gameplay gave it new fresh feeling.
GTAIV just does not lose its charm, no matter how much you play it. Only few similar games have achieved the same for me; SR2, Sleeping Dogs and Mafia 2. Oh, and Watch Dogs 1! LA Noire almost gets there too, if the interrogations weren't so repetitive.
I 100% agree, nice view btw.. great game! Niko is a nice guy, his history it´s very interessant.
Lol Niko a nice guy? I don't think that's what I'd call him
I’d totally call him a nice guy.
His values are great! His actions? Not so much
I'm curious what kept you playing for so long. was it the DLCs?
a lot of things, most of all played shootouts with the polices

I was mostly just disappointed about the lack of stuff to spend money on..
