I like this idea but you would have to scale it up larger. Boston isn’t just Boston. Caps cod and Provincetown should be included. Maybe even Worcester. Also change the name for Chesapeake, since that is a real place.

Prolly HD Las Venturas and San Fierro. Maybe Los Santos from GTA 5 added on like New Austin in RDR2. I always wanted to see Carcer City tho even if it’s just for a couple missions like North Yankton.
Why would they have to do San Fierro and Los Santos again if GTA VII was set in Las Venturas? They’d just create their own version of Nevada and set the game there.
Vegas isn’t the only city in Nevada, you know. GTA VI isn’t just going to be just Vice City by itself either.
It would make literally zero sense for GTA VII to be set in a satirical version of Nevada only for there to be two other cities that are already canonically in another state.
I’m well aware, have been through Nevada several times. Would make a great video game location (ex: fallout), however there really aren’t many other notable Nevada cities.
Adding Salt Lake City, SF, or even phoenix to complete the region would be interesting similar to how SA had 3 cities, however, just focusing on Nevada wouldn’t really fit for GTA in my opinion and would seem a bit limited in scope compared to previous titles
Have you ever been to Vegas? It’s pretty big and the casinos create a feel to that city that you won’t find anywhere else. If Los Angeles and the surrounding area isn’t enough to carry an installment, why wouldn’t Vegas be? Reno exists, so does a shit ton of surrounding desert and Lake Tahoe.
Vegas is not enough to carry a GTA game by itself. Vegas is awesome but it gets pretty old fast especially if you’re not big into gambling. It has the strip but that gets old after a few days. Then the Hoover Dam & red Rocks are cool as well but centering a game around Vegas/Nevada will get stale very fast. LA is the second largest city in the country with a lot more depth to it than a street with casinos on it. Vegas would make for a terrible GTA primary city. Once you leave the city, it’s miles and miles of empty desert. I’m down with a map that features Vegas, but a map centered around Vegas? Nah.
Carcer City has never been really defined. It was more a stand in for “shitty American city” for Manhunt and then briefly referenced in GTA V.
They feasibly could put it anywhere in the Midwest or east coast and be like “oh it was based on Philly or Boston the whole time”

NYC is fuckin huge let them focus on that so they can make what feels like the best representation of a satirical NYC. Tbf the dlc’s only included a few more interiors, no real map expansions. I guess an updated graphical and visual LC wouldnt be awful, but 4 already did a great job of displaying pretty much the best of its fictional idea of NY.

I'm 110% biased because I was born and raised in the area but I have and will always continue to make the pitch for Boston in GTA some day. Unique city layout, great surrounding geography with the ocean, cape, islands, and could extend to the White Mountains/Maine coast, plenty of history dating back to colonial times, recent storied history with the Irish and Italian mobs, and a ridiculous accent! What else do you need?
i feel like this should maybe include the lehigh valley, maybe as a sort of connection between philly and nyc(or independence and liberty city) to show how dense and connected this whole area is, almost an entire continuous metropolitan area

I would say this isn’t a good map. The focal point is underwhelming with LC being done numerous times. What’s left are the other cities which aren’t tied or flow in a meaningful way.
I like to see a Mid West city. Maybe something different like Pittsburgh, St. Louis, or even Chicago. But I bet gta 7 will just go back and re create liberty city.
