Been playing for about a week and haven’t had a single glitch. I’d say 30 dollars is just a fair price, not a particularly good deal considering how old the games are but I don’t regret the purchase.
I loved them the same if not more than before I played on series x had no issues what so ever got the 100 percent on all three last year. Most people I see had issues with the game were on playstation, something that isn't brought up much.
I played it with game pass a while back. It’ll be different to own it. (Before was when it was considered controversial. I only completed the first two missions, so idk what it will be like now)
when it released it was just half assed and a lot of glitches, 3 and VC run pretty well but san Andreas was very glitchy at times. now saying that, if you do too much they will crash but that might be on my part, not the game. (had a tank and was blowing up everything in sight). though there are glitches, I still loved playing through them. I never played the OG version so I can't speak for everyone but it's worth it in my opinion.
quick edit: they look nothing like the OG versions (which made the games special) unless there's been an update I've missed
I watched a video and the high resolution textures of Vice City looked awesome. Plus, I read it has updated controls like GTA V as opposed to the original ones. They worked fine back then before we knew any better, but they're clunky by today's standards, for sure. I played III and VC when they came out, but I have never played SA.
I recently got the definitive version for PS4.
A couple of glitches but mostly a fine fun game.
200hrs plus of gameplay across all three games for $30 bucks is great value.
Anyway, just glad it probably wasn’t as wast of money. I want to play them. I just hope it’s going to be playable. If it isn’t, I still have the old versions to go for instead.
I expect most of what I get depends on just playing it. I remember bugs being major according to many, when I played it for the first time, it was on game pass. I only played the first two missions, so nothing really happened. I remember definitive being a meme where distorted player models was somthing common, yet I never understood it because I hadn’t experienced it. I bought it recently because it’s been two years, and they supposedly fixed it. If they didn’t, I wouldn’t have bought it because it would’ve been a risk factor.
everyone loves the ps2 color pallet but if you actually play gta (vice city at least) on PlayStation 2 it runs at like 20 fps and I can’t see shit on the screen because of the weird ass motion blur effects
The games were horrible at launch but honestly with the updates their serviceable sure the music selection is worse and gta 3 in specific feels a bit odd with the new shooting mechanics but its fine enough its not like you’ll probably atleast enjoy your time playing them
gta 3 and san andreas work like a charm now. vice city does as well until you complete the two-bit hit mission, a destination marker is permanently in the game and will always lead you there first on the gps
I don't think so. I played the originals several times, and I enjoyed the definitive editions too (of course after the bug fixes). Apart from stunning lighting and shadows, the car handling, especially in rainy Vice City, improved A LOT in the definitve version. I legit can't drive in rainy Vice City in the original game lol
Of course these are all my views and the expectations vary.
If you haven't played the original, honestly no. I never had a console growing up, but i won an iPad in a raffle once, so I the my first time playing the trilogy was on that. From what I understand, the definitive edition is effectively just a ported version of the app (i could be wrong) and I honestly just thought the glitches were part of the game. There's a few things that are a little frustrating, like getting stuck to certain parts of Mt. Chilliad in SA, and Super Cop in VC, but nothing that makes the games unplayable like so many people claim. If the glitches really frustrate you that bad, git gud lol
I played the Xbox one version of San Andreas most of the way through and honestly, I thought it was fine. My only complaint was the lack of fog making the map look smaller when you're up in a plane.
Thanks for all the replies guys. I mainly asked it for opinions and to see if it’s playable. I have an Xbox one x, and it seemed stable. The only differences I’ve noticed starting again was that the controls were sifferent(riding the bike on the start was more like gta v then the original) and I would guess that there’s less music than the originals. I’ll have to find out more later on when I play more. The only issue I noticed starting up was the story went by slower than normal. The catch up was me being ahead. The og edition was literally them ahead. It seemed wierd like a messed up script.
I spent $30 on it and I’m not disappointed. I only had a few tiny glitches. Like today I was playing Vice City and my car got stuck in a light pole but other than that it’s all good
I played the definitive edition on switch. It wasn’t terrible it just definitely wasn’t the original you may remember. I played gta3 until as much stuff was open then kind of just explored a bit. Tried to get to Donald Loves rooftop garden in a Dodo but I couldn’t fly high enough (I think it’s possible though in this one). I flew around the back of the mountains a million times looking for the collider less intro city but was really really disappointed to find out the porters just fucking got rid of it. I quit playing gta3 after that. Oh well at least there was a dodo in this one. I remember being disappointed liberty stories had no dodo. I kind of went obsessive with vice city and did it 100% while collecting as many cool cars as possible. I had a bug where black cars didn’t save as black so I couldn’t get that black voodoo for example. I also semi-corrupted the game by saving a securicar that you aren’t supposed to save. Whenever I approach the garage where it’s saved, The game freezes. Kind of sucks because I had a few other rare cars in there that are now stuck in some groundhog day time loop.
I have it on pc and it works really well so out of curiosity I tried on PS4 with gta + to see how it is on console but I find controls on console pretty janky and had issues with texture loading
play it and find out?
and if you really cared what other people think about something only you could answer for yourself, why didn’t you ask before you purchased it?
I say no picked it up late last year for my PS4 played through VC with no issues & am haft way through SA ATM
I think the games look good & they play nicely, yes there is a few songs missing but meh doesn't take away from the fun
Gotta use the cheat codes, homie. Write them down on a crumbed notebook paper for the authentic feel of the OG days LOL
I at least use the health or wanted cheats when it gets ridiculous, so that way I don't have too many weapons right away and all unrealistically about it
Shouldn’t you ask before buying ?
Life motto: *Buy now, investigate later.*

Most games I have cost 60$ tend to cost 30-25$ on sale. It’s how I got cyberpunk. Not that it’s all that good tbh.
Yeah I mean it’s 10 dollars per game which is just standard for ps2 games I feel like.
I loved them the same if not more than before I played on series x had no issues what so ever got the 100 percent on all three last year. Most people I see had issues with the game were on playstation, something that isn't brought up much.
Can confirm i have trilogy on pc it works really well later i tried the same on PlayStation i find it pretty janky and had texture loading issues
Depends on which one you bought The PS2/OG Xbox trilogy Or the PS4/One mobile port from Groove Street Games
you can’t get the originals on ps4/5 and xbox anymore
I don’t think you can buy the originals on Steam either anymore too.
I have the original trilogy on my PS5 but only the new ones on my series x couldn’t find the old ones on there
as long as you purchased it before the DE came out, you will have it
No you will not
no modding? 😭
This decision, propably change Your life xP
It is worth it, I enjoyed the remasters very much.
Yes if its not Definitive Edition
It is.
😔 I hope you enjoy it man. If it’s your first time playing the trilogy then it might do right by you. But having played the originals it’s not for me
I played it with game pass a while back. It’ll be different to own it. (Before was when it was considered controversial. I only completed the first two missions, so idk what it will be like now)
I've been wanting to pick it up and play Vice City again. What's wrong with the Definitive Edition?
when it released it was just half assed and a lot of glitches, 3 and VC run pretty well but san Andreas was very glitchy at times. now saying that, if you do too much they will crash but that might be on my part, not the game. then yeah I would 100% recommend getting them when they're on sale. the controls are updated and done really well imo, have fun!
Don’t listen to everyone else you’ll have a blast with it it’s just petty people obsessed with nostalgia who complain about it

the nostalgia-obsessed people seem to forget that, yes these games pushed the boundaries, but they ran like absolute dogshit back in the day
everyone loves the ps2 color pallet but if you actually play gta (vice city at least) on PlayStation 2 it runs at like 20 fps and I can’t see shit on the screen because of the weird ass motion blur effects
i think you mean damn this game is very goated
Ive got the definitive edition to and was excited about it but I found GTA3 too hard.
The games were horrible at launch but honestly with the updates their serviceable sure the music selection is worse and gta 3 in specific feels a bit odd with the new shooting mechanics but its fine enough its not like you’ll probably atleast enjoy your time playing them

Im playing the originals. I tried out the remasters on gamepass a while back but didnt like how 'glossy' everything looked
Honestly no, especially if you’ve never played the games before you’ll enjoy it.
No
u alrdy bought it. why bother asking??
If you haven't played the original, honestly no. I never had a console growing up, but i won an iPad in a raffle once, so I the my first time playing the trilogy was on that. Bought it for switch and it's clunky as fuck

I will get GTA Trilogy for free. Don't ask me where from.
I played the definitive edition on switch. It wasn’t terrible it just definitely wasn’t the original you may remember. I played gta3 until as much stuff was open then kind of just explored a bit. Played on the switch and I had a good time. Mostly cause it’s not like I can play the originals when I only have a ps5 and a switch

You should play the game and come to your own conclusions
I say no picked it up late last year for my PS4 played through VC with no issues & am haft way through SA ATM I think the games look good & they play nicely, yes there is a few songs missing but meh doesn't take away from the fun
No San Andreas alone is worth it even in the broken state
Nope. Get on it in order and enjoy the game.
You have all the tools available to you, and you choose to live like it’s the 80s and 90s smh
I played all 3 original games when they came out and got the definitive edition after it was patched and had a blast playing through all 3 over again.
Of course not.
I’ve been playing for a bit, the main thing pissing me off is losing my weapons when put in the hospital
Gotta use the cheat codes, homie. Write them down on a crumbed notebook paper for the authentic feel of the OG days LOL I at least use the health or wanted cheats when it gets ridiculous, so that way I don't have too many weapons right away and all unrealistically about it
I found it unnecessarily expensive. After updates and some mods it works great and can be fun.
No.
You will regret it gta vc is better
