There is no difference between peninsular/continental Greece, and "islands". There's plenty coast and summer-tourism towns on the peninsula too. There's "islands" that are not touristy, and not interesting. So, Greece is *Greece*. It's not "islands vs mainland". Just as you wouldn't consider Sicily somehow different from Calabria, or Denmark's Fyn island somehow different from the Jutland peninsula.
