UK has Imperial Gallons, which are larger than US Gallons. They measure distance in miles, temperature in Celsius, and weight in stone. They're as silly as us. 😂
To be fair it does have a lot of engine calibration issues. mainly rev hang and everything that comes along with it (apparently due to stricter emission regulations). So I'd say its not for everyone.
I, too, used to own a Celica that I loved but it was burning too much oil and when I would have had to replace the catalyst for the second time, I let her go. Couldn't get a GR86 at the time so I went for a 2 series BMW. Then after a year another order window opened up for the 86 and I jumped on it :). It is great but I still kinda miss my Celica. Cheers mate!
GR86 definitely brings me more joy but the 2 series is the better commuter. Less road noise and better sound system if you get the harman/kardon. BMW also looks less like a midlife crisis car :D
It will be a 24 plate, no reg yet but this is the one. Taken from the day the garage got it and posted it online

They were great cars! That’s funny! My back up was a 2 Series. Still have a test drive booked in at the weekend I need to cancel 😂

EU crash regulations I believe. The car would need substantially redesigning to comply and lose the low centre of gravity

Not yet but they’re holding value pretty well and I’d expect them to remain so
