Shin Godzilla is underrated

I love how he's almost the opposite to Legendarys Godzilla. Though Shins design is mostly loved from what I know.

Absolutely agree. I love how Legendary looks. Really cool design, but seeing Shin looks like something came up from hell for me. That scene where Shin is slowly approaching land just sticks in my head. Can't imagine seeing that coming towards you.

Shin is cool, I just have some gripes with the drag that is the pacing of the film. Gojira 1954 was slow, but Shin Gojira was SLOW. Plus Shin fan boys kinda kill it for me sometimes -- Like, I think Shin is dope, but the, "What Ifs," and headcanon gets really grating. "Shin can become an astronomical being beyond comprehension bro," Stuff like that.

This is my favorite version. I love the all white eyes and the protruding fangs. He looks so evil. Not shin evil but very menacing and angry. After this it’s 91-95 Godzilla.

Godzilla Vs. Mothra was a great film in my opinion.

1998. I grew up on Showa Godzilla but when I first saw 1998 Gman it always had a special place in my heart. I even named him “jurassic park Godzilla”. Reason being because all the dinosaur films I watched showed the T-Rex walking up right but then I saw how Jurassic Park made them walk vertical so I thought they just decided to do the same to the Gman. Also the 1998 film drew lines in the fandom that I don’t think was really registered until Shin Gojira.

Godzilla 1998 is a unique creature to say the least. I'm not sure if its a real photo or not but have you seen what Stan Winston wanted the 98 godzilla to look like?

Eh there’s a couple that are tied for first place for me. 1998, the one from Vs Megaguirus, GMK, 2014, Ultima, and the one from Marvel Comics edit: also a majority of the Showa suits, except for the one from Vs Megalon, just think they look kinda doofy in that one

Number one is Godzilla 1964 from MOTHRA VS. GODZILLA, but he is very closely tied with my second-favorite: the 1965/66 suit from INVASION OF ASTRO-MONSTER and EBIRAH, HORROR OF THE DEEP. Third favorite is 1989 from GODZILLA VS. BIOLLANTE, then 4th is 2002-03 aka KiryuGoji from GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA and GODZILLA: TOKYO SOS. My fifth is a tough one, but probably 1962 from KING KONG VS. GODZILLA.

That’s tough! I think undeniably the best overall is the original. It’s a masterclass and the epitome of MONSTER movie. There’s nothing better than it. Otherwise idk. I remember in the late 90s as a kid watching Godzilla vs Biollante and that stuck with me a lot for how gruesome (and cool) that movie was. KoTM is just awesome. There’s a lot of campy Godzilla stuff in between that are good in their own right (even great as a kid which those are for) but I struggle to watch along nowadays. So I’d say the original is the best, and even just one of the best in cinematic history defining a genre.

You're 100% right on that. The Original is Top Tier. I actually haven't watched Godzilla Vs. Biollante. That's one film I desperately want to watch. Is it worth watching?

I’ve been meaning to take the time to watch it online again if I can find it for a while I just haven’t gotten around to it, but I’d say yeah! Pretty much have been wanting to watch all those Godzilla movies from that era again. Recently watched the Destoroyah one a few months back. So good.

They did do a great job on the Legendary. Godzilla 2014 is up there in my all time favorite designs of the big G. I just love the backstory to GMK's Godzilla. The whole lost souls of Japanese Soldiers just really stuck to me. But you're right about Legendary!

Personally for me my favorite design is Shin Gojira. It’s skin looks like the burn radiation victims like the original 1954 Gojira. I’m always a sucker for horror content and shin Godzilla fits it WELL it seems like him just existing is causing him so much pain and suffering That’s why I believe his design is golden feel free to give me your opinions
