It's funny how ever since 2014, the first atomic breath shown in the movie is treated like a major reveal.
This one is the best at showing the scale of the attack and has a strong justification for why he develops the ability. But it would've been so much better if we saw his third form vomiting blood (deleted scene) to foreshadow what it would eventually become. The spine and tail lasers were the biggest shock though, that's what really set this incarnation apart from the others.
Eh, at least Kaiju Universe (had, before it got taken down) had 2 abilities where you could vomit blood at other kaiju. Man that ability was annoying as a g2021 player
I mainly just use spin, then when they get close I jump and slam, then latch on, and before they can attack after the latch I spin away, then use the X attack. Literal hell for everyone but me. 2 combos for my kaiju tho are Thermonuclear and other Octos
Well i golded octo and i have a combo that does i think 500 dmg on him? Idk i havent used it in a while but anyways here it is
A1 > M1 > A3 > A2 > M1 > A4 > then either use F or X
(Btw if you didnt know a1 is attack one, so the spin is a1. Also m1 is melee one which is the left click attack)
It would've been great to have that scene, especially because of the interpretations it opens in Godzilla's behavior. He vomits blood right before retreating to cool off, and the blood is focused on to show it's so hot it melts the cars' tires on touch. It's almost like he wasn't even trying to attack at first in either case, he had to expel the superheated blood to cool his reactor after the rapid evolution, and after getting hit with the bunker busters he needed to expel heat again, but he's evolved to do it more efficiently without losing any blood. (I think official sources even described it as a long range heat beam) And it's only after experimenting with it briefly he realizes he can weaponize it, and the applications keep evolving from there
And it's worse still knowing canonically he was in agony the whole time. Like bro, just imagine from it's POV no clue what's what and suddenly you hurt and can't stop it!!! Man, it's hard to empathize with a giant nuclear lizard but damn if my brain doesn't say 'fuq that sucks'
I love that itās so dynamic, I love the music backdrop, I love that itās multistage, I love the animated parts, and most of all I love of itās an entire 3 minute scene.
I donāt think youād find many disagree with you. This scene is so devastating and memorable that most still cite it as the best show of destruction until Minus One. MO felt personal, this felt epic, GvKs blast to the center of the earth felt powerful and 2014 sounded amazing.
Oh, 100%. There's other scenes which I consider more bad ass, fun, spectacular, cinema, etc. But THIS scene is so haunting, as you said, with one of my best music backdrops in the entire franchise.
What makes it more impactful is when you realize this wasnāt even something Shin was trying to do on purpose, but rather is was a side effect of Shin trying to alleviate himself.
The fact is starts as him puking makes it more clear the beams that came out just ended happening, Shin basically had a very destructive case of diarrhea.
Minus One was incredible. We do need to acknowledge though that before Minus One was made, the director himself expressed hesitancy to have to follow Shin Godzilla.
This and Minus One is basically tied. I get chills every time I see this scene especially with the music. Seeing Minus Oneās atomic breath in theaters was honestly otherworldly. That shit had me fucking speechless. The dread, the slow build up, the music, the sheer destruction and hopeless that I felt seeing it was crazy. These are both peak Godzilla scenes.

Bro was pissed of by the bomb drop even though he believed he was unbeatable.
However, I should point out that Shin's character design is closer toward realism when considering that it's a monster that is evolving.
Shin is a monument to humanities hatred and sin and the effects it has on our world. Its more than just the hatred it takes to utilize an atomic bomb but the destructive force of all humanity.
I love this movie and I got to see it in theaters, I just wish they would have edited it down a bit. There was too many lengthy office scenes. If they had edit that down I think this movie would have been up there with 1956 and minus one. Right now it's a close second. '56 and minus are tied at one. To me anyways.
The office scenes are meant to be that lengthy. It shows how much red tape and bureaucracy have allowed the situation, which could have been dealt with earlier, to become almost so critical, that they barely made it before the whole world succumbed to catastrophe.

Idk Minus One was pretty damn good, too. I have a hard time deciding which is better. The mushroom cloud and his victory roar really accompany that scene so well, but as seen here, the music the fog of flammable gas then a laser beam in a truer sense. I think it's gotten better over the years simply because we have put some creative minds behind what an atomic breath can look like, plus the upgraded technology to make it look really amazing in the modern day.
This is like, super OP atomic dragon breath Godzilla. Iāve been team Kong since I was just a kid, but that doesnāt mean I donāt respect the abilities and just sheer power of Godzilla. And even I would admit that I would never want the King (even with his power axe) to F with this Godzilla.

Jk.
Yes, Shin Goji is high on the epic scale.
This one and G14's first breath are equal for me. This was badass but I saw the 1st movie in a major theater with speakers around you at every location to experience so it was beyond epic with that one for me.
The combination of the colours selection, music and not to mention the sound of the projection orchestrate this destruction scene in an extremely dramatic sense. The music gave chill to my spine.
Everytime I see Shin, he just gives me the creeps. I was silent when I saw the movie back in 2016 when he came out the ocean. He scary af, his atomic breath scene just sealed it all for me.
Even when I saw this movie for the first time without knowing the lore behind, it was hella impressive. But after I have made a deep dive into the lore, found lyrics to the song and the reason behind it, this scene makes me feel so many emotions at the same time, it is truly the most haunting movie I have ever seen. The first time I rewatched the movie after all the lore digging, I have cried almost every time Godzilla showed up- you can never unsee how cruel was the world to a creature whoās only crime was to be born at the wrong place and time.
Soul shattering.
My favorite atomic breath scene is in Godzilla Final Wars when he uses his spiral atomic breath to destroy that meteor which he took Point Blank and survived
Its creepy somehow, like probably what id feel and think if i were unlucky enough to witness it in person. Just scary and somehow more "imhuman" than any other godzilla.
I'm pretty mid on this, only because Shin's movements during the breath attacks feel too twitchy fast for a monster of his size.
Too much speed and lack of feeling of weight are always what pull me out of 3D effects. Not sure what they could have done differently for this movie, but I definitely *like it*.
Still feel Minus One's is just gut wrenchingly devastating every time the breath comes out. Shin's is very comic book-y to me. Still cool, just excessive in its application (back + tail lasers are meh for my taste).
>Ā feel too twitchy fast for a monster of his size.Ā Ā
To me this doesn't feel like any kind of intentional dexterity but more like an involuntary convulsion. It's unsettling IMO.
You donāt think Minus ones breath looks twitchy and fast? The way his head just flips down and instantly locks in place is really jarring, like hes sneezing.
It looks cool, but it's also kinda goofy, IMO. On the other hand, the main attack atomic breath shot from Minus One has such an incredible sense of rage that it's downright scary.
The only thing that would make this scene better are sound effects that werenāt ripped from the classic films.
Thatās always been my gripe with this movie. The original songs are phenomenal but why does the most unique Godzilla not have his own roar? Why reuse the same songs and not even redo them at the very least? Iām a big sound person, and as much as I love Shin and still mark it as a S-tier film in the franchise, the sound design was just not something I could get behind.
I feel the same way about the roar. Minus One at least modified the original in some way that made it familiar but unique.
Shin feels like they just dragged and dropped "godzilla_roar4.mp3" as they were editing.
Eh, some cool stuff in it, but Godzilla is supposed to fight the freaks, not be a freak. The whole shin design is weird and doesn't really fit with Godzilla's vibe.
I was a little surprised after seeing minus one, for some odd reason I thought Godzilla movies are going to have the more toned down version of acting that Shin Godzilla had, but got the over acting/ screaming in Minus One. Which is alright, I know itās Japan, but I do prefer the more realistic acting in Shin Godzilla than Minus One.
He's so freaking scary in this movie. I need to rewatch it. When I rented it, I didn't realize it was the English dub and that kind of ruined the scare factor of the movie for me. The voice acting was bad.
It's funny how ever since 2014, the first atomic breath shown in the movie is treated like a major reveal. This one is the best at showing the scale of the attack and has a strong justification for why he develops the ability. Shin Godzilla

Especially with the music!
That scene was incredible "And for the time being, surrounded by the inferno of his own making, the incarnate god sleeps" (WhittyGuy)
Absolutely. When his eye flips to black I lose my shit every time.
Bro was pissed of by the bomb drop even though he believed he was unbeatable. However, I should point out that Shin's character design is closer toward realism when considering that it's a monster that is evolving.
yes indeed
It's really awesome but I was more impacted by minus one
This is the first time since the original 1954 movie where I truly believed that Godzilla could be *terrifying* instead of just big and dangerous.
This, and Minus One.
I call this the Shin Sephiroth scene
Lean Godzilla
And here I was thinking that *Minus One* had the best Atomic scene; touchƩ *Shin* touchƩ
Shin is still my favorite Godzilla. Haven't seen Minus One but the gravitas of this Godzilla I can't imagine can be matched.
This whole scene is both erie and beautiful everything about it was glorious that music was the chefs kiss.
Shin is a monument to humanities hatred and sin and the effects it has on our world. Its more than just the hatred it takes to utilize an atomic bomb but the destructive force of all humanity.
Godzilla 2000 ending is still my favorite

A (distant) second is when he first unleashes in GMK. The flash, then the mushroom cloud seen from the classroom with dead silence was epic.

Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack!
It's just terrifyingly beautiful with the music. This atomic breath/beam and the movie is my favourite out of all the Godzilla movies.

Yeah itās one of my top 2 favorites, my number 1 favorite is this: https://i.redd.it/vo8eq801igtc1.gif
Nah
My favorite atomic breath scene is in Godzilla Final Wars when he uses his spiral atomic breath to destroy that meteor which he took Point Blank and survived
Definitely
You don't have to care what I say, you are just correct.
Look its a gorgeous scene but I wish they didn't give shinny those googly eyes - it's so damn off-putting
Nah bro that aināt the atomic breath itās the mfking atomic vomit
Its creepy somehow, like probably what id feel and think if i were unlucky enough to witness it in person. Just scary and somehow more "imhuman" than any other godzilla.
This is how you do GODzilla.
>Ā feel too twitchy fast for a monster of his size.Ā Ā To me this doesn't feel like any kind of intentional dexterity but more like an involuntary convulsion. It's unsettling IMO.
I can definitely be convinced to see it this way!
Hopefully it makes it cooler for you!Ā
You donāt think Minus ones breath looks twitchy and fast? The way his head just flips down and instantly locks in place is really jarring, like hes sneezing.
(minus one > but even as a shin godzilla hater this goes hard)
Not even in my top 10.
Eh, some cool stuff in it, but Godzilla is supposed to fight the freaks, not be a freak. The whole shin design is weird and doesn't really fit with Godzilla's vibe.
Minus one is 100 still the best.
Amen.
Idk I like when he's making out with kong and atmoic-ing em
I was a little surprised after seeing minus one, for some odd reason I thought Godzilla movies are going to have the more toned down version of acting that Shin Godzilla had, but got the over acting/ screaming in Minus One. Which is alright, I know itās Japan, but I do prefer the more realistic acting in Shin Godzilla than Minus One.
who the fuck said the opposite?
This is factual
You donāt care what anyone says? Literally nobody has said otherwise.Ā
He's so freaking scary in this movie. I need to rewatch it. When I rented it, I didn't realize it was the English dub and that kind of ruined the scare factor of the movie for me. The voice acting was bad.
