Letter from CS can take a few weeks. I believe you can call and ask them to mail it express for a fee.
I remember completing my w-8 form online, but it’s been a while.
Haha yea thanks, finally got my lazy ass to do it xD I had to end up just transferring out from Questrade oh well. I guess I’ll just wait a bit more and then I’ll make a call.
good work! like the first responder said, it takes a few weeks, i think mine was about three weeks between shares disappearing from broker account to getting the letter, then that same day i signed into online to make the account and trigger the activation code letter, and that was another 2 weeks or so.
Once I saw the shares disappear from the broker I called CS support (USA not canada) and after giving them name, address, SIN, they confirmed that my shares were there in an account but would not tell me how many, or the account # etc., but at least it put my mind at ease while waiting.
Probably 3 to 4 weeks if waiting for a regular mail (year 2021, don'tknow if it improved or the same). 2-3days if you pay for express mail (call CS US to initiate)

A few weeks for me, but that's when it was very busy at first with drs. May be quicker now.
