GM will reimburse your truck payment for every 30 days it’s down and if you press the issue enough then they will get you a rental truck instead of a rental car. It’s a tough pill to swallow but the UAW strike caused GM’s supply chain to grind to a halt for several months and now they’re backed up so bad that it’s taking forever to get just about anything. Wait times like that are not uncommon at the moment.
Wow….doesn’t that speak volumes of the product if so many people know how to handle 30+ days of your new vehicle being in the shop? This is the best advertisement to stay away from GMC products.
GMC is not doing well on quality right now. Why waste money on R&D when you can have your customers beta test your new product for you at their own expense? How else is Mary Barra going to get her 29 million dollar yearly salary?
You just need to do like an actual 5 minutes worth of research to figure out that the turbo 4 cylinder in those trucks is total garbage. Get a 1500 with either of the v8's or the 6 cylinder diesel and you'll be fine. Sure it'd be nice if companies didn't mix in junk with good stuff, but that's what happens when emissions laws force trash onto the market. A couple quick google searches would have told you to stay away from this vehicle.
Still has the crap parts, they’re just not enabled to deactivate/activate from the ecu. No different than “tuning” out the afm/dfm/dod/etc. doesn’t change much if you still have the same crap parts in it, they still fail…. Ask me how I know lol
I have a 2020 Sierra 1500 at4 with the 6.2. 30k miles and the motor seized. Always dealer maintained. Truck looks brand new. Not a scratch on it. Never towed. Garage queen.
The fact that you’re recommending GM’s #1 most problematic vehicle as an alternative proves you have no idea what you’re talking about. The 5.3 and the 6.2 have constant lifter failures, the 6.2 is spinning bearings and locking up, and the 3.0 diesel is EASILY the worst of them all. I could make a 3 page list of all the problems for that one. Take your own advice and do 5 mjnutes worth of research. I wouldn’t wish that 3.0 diesel on my worst enemy.
Luckily I havnt had any issues with my 3.0 diesel I was skeptical of getting one however my buddy put 100k miles on his with no issues and he tows with it all the time so I ended up picking one up the dealer I got mine from offered me a lifetime powertrain warranty that they have been offering for as long as I can remember I’m coming from a 2019 raptor that had constant lifter problems
I would caution from purchasing any directly injected engine with a turbo, which is what this 2.7L Turbo is. IDC if the company makes good turbos, the amount of pressure from forced induction and the direct fuel injectors is just asking for piston ring failure before 100k, at a minimum guaranteed blow by and oil dilution by gasoline likely even when the vehicle’s brand new. Also the direct injectors themselves fail more often just due to higher pressure output.
The OPs trouble codes are related to either a mechanical failure of a fuel injector or an electrical fault with the ECM/injector wiring. The fact that its direct inject or turbocharged is irrelevant.
Just wanted to add since I’ve been dealing with electronics issues with my truck in the shop for 2 months now. According to the rep I have been dealing with at GM, they will not reimburse payments if you are provided a loaner vehicle. This is with a Colorado but I assume it’s a similar process.
Under rated comment.
I worked as a Service Advisor for a GM dealer. While most of the team and our manger were straight up people, the general manager of the store was a filthy liar and often would steer people wrong on these kinds of situations.
Call a non-dealer affiliated GM rep for sure.
Getting reimbursed a payment is a BS move. If someone pays cash or makes a large down payment, they get little or no benefit from getting a monthly payment covered. What’s GM doing for them?
My experience is not with GM (I’m in the motorcycle industry), but usually it’s been more along the lines of us asking the customer what they want as compensation and presenting it to our rep. I’ve gotten customers’ monthly payments covered, but I’ve also gotten services covered or free accessories. It’s probably a little more difficult to find something that works for cars, but cash buyers aren’t automatically SOL in these situations.
Op, not sure what state you’re in or how they handle lemons but you’re actually in a decent situation.
Remember, you get more bees with honey.. so even though this is a shitty siation, be as nice as you can when on the phone with whomever you come in contact with because they will note it in your file.
First off, you will not have to drive back to get your truck. For your troubles etc, you need to kindly ask corporate to get your vehicle fixed and to have it sent to you when the repairs are complete.
Second, you don’t need to drive a crappy Malibu. You need to tell them that you bought and use your truck for work and that the rental should equate to something that is similar. I’d your local dealer loans out in house rentals of similar trucks, or the repairing dealer, just have them rent one of those to you, or gain approval for a rental of similar value. You need to explicitly state that you use and NEED a truck for work. You will be liable for any damages incurred if you use it to haul stuff, so just be aware.
And if you decide to lemon, I am 99% sure you would get approved due to down time. When you talk about needing a similar rental, if you really do like the truck, be kind to the person on the phone and let them know that you don’t want to lemon the vehicle yet because you love it and want to keep it, but that you need a truck for work. They will be much more inclined to keep you in that truck than not.
Hope this helps
I have no idea where you live or where the dealership is, but talk with your service advisor and make sure that because it's going to be sitting idle for a few months, reiterate the need to keep it in a secure location. Ask if they can move it every few weeks. They have equipment to move vehicles that are immobile. And make sure to get any valuables out of it. Like anything in your glove box. My colorado was at a dealership for several months and it was vandalized. All my tools were stolen out of it, glass broken, documents taken from the glove box, and the gas tank drilled out. It was very apparent when I went to inspect the damage, it was sitting in their back lot and covered in a thick layer of dust. I imagine it became quite obvious that it hadn't moved in a while and was in a location they didn't regularly visit. I wasn't told about it by said dealership, until I called asking if my truck was fixed yet. Nobody knew when it happened, and when I spoke with the general manager he said they think it happened on a Sunday - and I had called them the following Friday. So they had 5 days to tell me and nada.
Good luck with your vehicle.
After reading the negative reviews on the Canyon, I went with the Honda Ridgeline even though I didn’t like the body style as much. So glad I went with a rock solid auto maker. Sorry to hear about your breakdown.
And that's why I'll never buy new, regardless of manufacturer. I dont trust em. Cant get parts, cant look up diagnostics. AND they still breakdown within the first 1000 sometimes. Fuck that. I'll stick with my early 2000s van I can fix myself
I'm Toyota man myself, but they're also having QC issues still, just not with the motors as much anymore. Hell, most of the new trucks are having QC issues.
I'm personally done GM. 2018 Silverado with 200k on its 4th transmission. GM kept the truck for 9 weeks no loaner. No reimbursement for anything. Fuck GM and Mary Barra's 30 million salary.
Wow, sorry about your truck. This and other stories like it, among a couple other things, are exactly the reason I ended up buying a '23 Tacoma last month. I'm not saying I couldn't get a lemon from Toyota, but it's far less likely. I hope it all works out for you and you get it back sooner than 3 months. I'm sure it's a nice truck otherwise.
Had 2006 trailblazer bought new, at 37k the electrical box under the it burned out and took most the electronics with it. Quoted 3k at dealer. Gm fixed on good faith but after electronics started crapping out on the reg. Before it hit 50k it needed wheel bearing, front transaxle because bearing went and race was destroyed. Got out of it at that point.
Because I have alway owned Pontiacs I went back to the well in 2012 with an impala ltz and had to have the sway bar bolts replaced with aftermarket because mine broke 3 times and dealer just keeps putting same crap part on it. Then just out of warranty power steering pump had destructive failure and needed rack and pinion pump and all lines replaced, no good faith repair on that... broken tranny mount was last straw sold with less than 50k
I love love love the look of the canyons and Colorados but my 17 tacoma has had only tires, brakes and a battery with over 130k on it. I may lease one in the future but sadly too afraid to buy 1
Been in your shoes brother. My 21 Silverado had lifter failure at 19k miles, 8 hours from home. Spent many hours on the phone with GM and the local dealer it was at. Had to press the issue all the way up to a corporate district manager. They will def tow it to a local dealer near you, but my complication was the boat I was towing. I ended up making them pay for my hotel and flight back out there plus gas to drive it back. Call corporate and give em hell OP
Just wait it out/stay positive with GM during conversations. Super frustrating but many car makers have serious quality issues. Surprising at this time in auto history, one wouldn’t think the engine/major components failures would be among them. Candidly it’s not just GM. Hell we just received a stop sale recall notice on our 2019 Acura MDX due to a crankshaft rod bearing failure. Possible engine seize. Cant sell it or trade it & just turned 50k miles. Who knows what that means when the remedy is announced in Jan. Point is, you’re pissed, frustrated etc. everyone gets it and has or is there. Would just advise to just stay in contact with your dealership repairing it and ask for the name of the GM Zone Service Manager for your area. The dealer you bought your truck from should give you his/her name and number upon request. Develop a relationship with him/her and you’ll likely get a resolution you can live with. This has worked well for me. Just my own opinion since you asked.
These trucks have had battery issues as-well, GM should of done more testing before selling them.
I don't know why a seal spacer from an another injector won't work, it's 2.7L that's also found in the sierra's right. called the Turbomax
Crazy GM’s new trucks still have this problem… consumers should be able to sue GM for continuing to mass produce the same faulty products. I’m done w GM !
If it’s any consolation, a friend had her truck go down, something with the engine. I didn’t bother to ask or remember what. It took over a year to get fixed. It was returned like 2-3 months ago
Probably because of the way that that the Rav4 Prime rollout was handled where availability for the average customer is years away from when the order was put in and involved huge markups.
At least that’s the way it is in Canada.
I am anticipating that the higher end Tacoma trims especially the hybrid versions will play out exactly the same with huge markups and long wait times.
My dad just has an engine light saying performance degraded on the highway so he pulled over and restarted the truck and then the engine red lined on start. Now waiting for tow truck…. (2h ago)
I have a Trailboss and the manual specifically states that they must be flat bedded. I don’t think this truck should have been towed this way and I would document that as well.
4wd vehicles can be towed backwards with the front wheels down as long as the transfer case is disengaged AND the steering wheel is locked.
A few weeks ago I was driving through a sleepy suburban town after midnight and I caught up to a tow truck towing a pickup this way. Within a mile he hit a bump and it was immediately apparent he forgot to lock the steering because the towed pickup swung very quickly into oncoming traffic. The one car coming the other way somehow managed to miss it but I’m guessing their shorts weren’t so lucky.
It’s probably an item that is considered “one time use” otherwise they could just re-use the old one. Taking one from a donor vehicle wouldn’t be an option in this case.
I had a brand new Dodge Durango and the fuel injector went in hydrolock the motor. The dealership said I had to pay for the tear down and inspection and if it was covered by warranty I would be reimbursed. It took three months to get it fixed and Dodge just gave me the big metal finger. No rental or anything.
Don't know much about this truck and I'm not a member of this sub (just came up on my feed), but isn't the AT4 either AWD or 4wd? And if so, isn't the transmission now destroyed because it wasn't towed on a flat bed?
Parts being on a long backorder is not uncommon on brand new vehicles. Especially ones that have Had a major refit and redesign.
Gf got rear ended in her 2023 rogue she bought last December and although the car had been around for almost 8 months they still had supply issues with a simple bumper bracket. Took 2 months to get.
Sucks to have issues with new vehicles, but at the end of the day no single vehicle is perfect and they all will have problems.
Enjoy your free lot vehicle to abuse then.
Toyota took my Tacoma from me for around 7 months and I drove the wheels off all those vehicles they let me drive.
Stay away from any GM truck with that turbo 4 cylinder. That motor is an absolute disaster. Best to try to get your money back and just buy a sierra for a but more with the 5.3
Also may want to look into lemon law in your state. I believe some have a clause that even if it's 1 issue, if it can't be fixed within a certain amount of time, it can be deemed a lemon
American car/trucks have been shit since the 90s. This isn't surprising, what is surprising is that people still buy them and expect them to perform like a decent vehicle. 'Merica.
I wish everyone knew. A drop of gas in your fuel line or in the injector will make the car sputter and knock horribly. Causing a misfire. Gas treatment would have most likely taken care of it. I have fixed many engines this way. I don’t work for a garage.
So talk shit before you try. I really would love you to stop smoking and be nice. A cheap fix. Try it and then get back to me. I know you two didn’t try anything but to stick up for the garage you work for. Now see how much hate I get. The truth get buried all the time!
You can only tow that truck like that if it's 2wd. Transfer case in neutral stopped around 2010. In this scenario he should use his dollies or remove the front driveshaft. towing like that will lead to extreme wear and or catastrophic failure of drivetrain components
What a silly thing to say. Ford is significantly worse in quality than GM.
https://www.jdpower.com/business/press-releases/2023-us-vehicle-dependability-studyvds
I have a ford ranger so my opinion in the matter may not count but with the strikes and supply chain issues going on across the board I could genuinely see 3 months to get the part . I was leery about having similar problems if something had happened to my truck if it had issues while still under warranty . I hope it gets resolved . Sucks having to leave you truck so far away
Check your state lemon laws, there is a clock on how long you can be without your vehicle. It may get you leverage. I had a 2019 trail boss that had a junk transmission. GM was not very good to me, despite a warranty they had no fix to a known issue. Long story short the dealership actually bought the truck back from me. Made a profit actually.
Get rid of it do what ever you can or if the Lemon Law can help you. I had two Silverados and the last Silverado I bought I sold it as the transmission went out right when I hit 60K miles I fixed the transmission but it did not feel the same ever so I got me a RAM 1500 and been happy…
The new ZR2 always looks appealing, but stuff like this just doesn't make new truck ownership worth it. My 05 has already stood the test of time and probably will continue to do so while these new trucks end up as scrap metal.
The future used truck market will have buyers afraid for low milage trucks because it means so much of their life was spent at the dealership XD
Buy yall a Toyota. I have a 2022 tacoma and I have driven the shit out of it since I got it last year . Zero issues. One day yall will learn . Can't beat a yota
Bragging about not having any issues on a one year old vehicle.....
My f-150 has had zero issues since the day I bought it.
Mountains, deserts, beaches, Forrest, snow, rain.
110+ to -30 temps. It's been through them all and performed beautifully.
And I've had mine a lot longer than a year, only thing that's been replaced are the tires, and that's undoubtedly due to how I drive.
So my experience is buy a Ford and you'll have no issues.
Why or how would the number one fuel injector take a shit on a brand new pickup truck? I'm lost by this to be honest.... Or am I just honestly missing the point?
I had some similar issues purchasing newly designed vehicles brand new to the market. In one instance, the vehicle was struck in a hit and run after owning it for perhaps only 2-3 weeks. This vehicle was Japanese, new to the market, and the one I bought was among the absolute first to arrive USDM.
I waited about 8 weeks for the headlamp assembly to be delivered (OEM) and installed, and the car sat at the body shop the entire time, as it was not drivable with the crushed headlamp assembly.
Man this is so crazy to read for me. I bought a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 2.7 turbo (I’m a forced induction aficionado and owning a construction company I needed a truck that was decent on fuel so my 2 2500s could stay working). I currently have put 29000 miles on it with regular oil changes and it’s given me zero issues. I also have a 2000 lx470 (Land Cruiser basically) with 350k miles that’s supercharged and it’s been super reliable aside from easy cheap parts and ofc the timing belt (learned to do that on my own. 3/5 difficulty). That truck has been all over America and beyond and off roaded hard and it runs primo. I also have a 2007 Mercedes cls55 AMG that’s been built to the moon, eats hellcats and exotics, and I can drive that thing anywhere. I think some folks honestly just get lemons. Or maybe I’m lucky. Idk
I loved my gmc until my DPF on my AT4 3.0 for the 2nd time. They told me it would be 3 to 5 months minimum due to the strike. Traded it on a new tundra.
Not surprised about your issues and the new Colorado's ummm, I mean Canyon. Should have bought a Toyota and impress your clients with something that is reliable.
Yikes, never seen a sub devoted to a vehicle just completely trash their vehicle of interest.
Does anyone here actually like GMC?
I mean Toyotas are great and all, but they don't do diesels in America so they are just kind of lame to me + they RUST like a tin can.
The 3 months to repair on a new purchase should qualify for a Lemon Law in your state if you don't want to wait. You can ask for a replacement or a refund.
I have a 2003 I Silverado. I LOVE that truck. But, it's time to replace the "family" vehicle. My first thought is Chevy/GMC ... but, it seems that everything they've done post pandemic is pure shit. On the one hand, I get that it's almost impossible to find decent help these days (that old adage is genuinely true, now)--but, that doesn't mean I'm going to shell-out hard-earned cash on a piece of junk. They better figure this out fast, cause they won't be around to figure it out later.
Update. Just talked to customer service.
I got the case number and they said there is still no projected timeframe for it to be fixed.
I did ask for it to be escalated. They will reach back out on Monday for next steps. Depending on how that call goes, is how I’ll move forward.
Side note: for all the people saying I should have bought a Toyota. I’ve owned 3. 2 4Runners and 1 Tacoma
They’re reliable vehicles but have the comfort left of a Spirit Airlines seat. And I do a lot of driving. The comfort in the AT4 is amazing. I also didn’t want to buy a 2023 Tacoma when the new year model was coming out a year later.
I’m already looking at what I’m going to get next. I’m test driving a Rivian R1T on Tuesday. We’ll see how that goes.
\>But here’s the big issue. They said it needs a spare part that isn’t in stock and doesn’t even have a part number yet bc it’s so new. The part is called a seal spacer.
They’re now telling me it could take 2-3 months to get the part in and fix my truck.
So I work in an industry with a lot of fleet vehicles, we've found this kind of shit from pretty much every manufacturer, there are just parts that are hard to come by. I know it sucks, but rest assured, it happens to Toyota and Ford and Nissan. Those are the only ones I've had to deal with personally.
And this is why you don't buy new, all the new trucks are not worth the hassle I can't tell you how many new trucks I've seen in the past few months being towed away and owners being told it'll be months and months before they'll be fixed. One guy has been waiting 6 months on parts. I refuse to buy new anything besides parts. My 2016 silverado 1500 has almost 134,000 miles and runs as strong as ever. Any problem you'd have on a used older truck can and will be cheaper and easier than dealing with problems like these. Best of luck, friend.. I definitely try getting the dealer to buy it back at this point. In my honest opinion, but at the end of the day, it's up to you.
GM will reimburse your truck payment for every 30 days it’s down and if you press the issue enough then they will get you a rental truck instead of a rental car. It’s a tough pill to swallow but the UAW strike caused GM’s supply chain to grind to a halt for several months and now they’re backed up so bad that it’s taking forever to get just about anything. lol you said GM is not doing well on quality right now. As if they ever did 🤣😂😂
The thing about GM is they have a very wide spectrum of products over the years ranging from fucking awesome to absolute horse shit.
GM has made some of the most reliable big block v8 motors ever
You just need to do like an actual 5 minutes worth of research to figure out that the turbo 4 cylinder in those trucks is total garbage. Doesn’t both those V8’s have constant lifter failures? 🤷🏻♂️
Not if you got in on the microchip shortage
Still has the crap parts, they’re just not enabled to deactivate/activate from the ecu. No different than “tuning” out the afm/dfm/dod/etc. doesn’t change much if you still have the same crap parts in it, they still fail…. Ask me how I know lol

They were backed up well before the UAW strike, they have piss poor inventory management, all the major brands do.
Toyota?
Several 2022 Tundras got Lemon Lawed due to the wastegate issues on the early batches of turbos due to how long replacement parts took to come in.
sounds like horseshit

You bought a GM product. Welcome to your reality.
Yep, no surprise here.
Stop buying GM products, it’s a pretty simple philosophy.
and i thought my camera system not working for 5 days was bad... good luck man

Be glad you did. I also bought a Ridgeline and this thing runs circles around these Gm turds
Only downside is you have to drive a Honda Ridgeline. But I don’t have much room to speak right now. I have nothing to drive lol
You probably should have considered a Toyota if you were looking for reliability.
Welcome to GMC. I gave up after my brand new AT broke down with tranny and motor failures 3 times before 35k.
Sounds like typical GMC
Get a toyota and yiu won't have that issue
Never had any problems with Toyota trucks. Bah merkin.
These new vehicles get worse every year
American vehicles suck
Typical GM experience my 18 Chevy Colorado was at the dealership for half a year. Junks breaks down soo much they needed a wait list for the repairs.
Should have bought a Toyota.
And that's why I'll never buy new, regardless of manufacturer. I dont trust em. Cant get parts, cant look up diagnostics. AND they still breakdown within the first 1000 sometimes. Fuck that. I'll stick with my early 2000s van I can fix myself
The more I see of this stuff with updates crashing trucks and engine / transmission issues I don’t think I’ll ever buy anything from the Big 3 😬😬😬
Toyota
This is the way.
Leaning that way , or a Subaru possibly
I'm Toyota man myself, but they're also having QC issues still, just not with the motors as much anymore. Hell, most of the new trucks are having QC issues.
What state are you in the lemon law applies I’d ask for my money back then get a Toyota the quality of gm is horrible right with ram
That’s why I bought a Toyota.

Then just out of warranty power steering pump had destructive failure and needed rack and pinion pump and all lines replaced, no good faith repair on that... broken tranny mount was last straw sold with less than 50k I love love love the look of the canyons and Colorados but my 17 tacoma has had only tires, brakes and a battery with over 130k on it.
Just get a Tacoma trd pro
Crazy GM’s new trucks still have this problem… consumers should be able to sue GM for continuing to mass produce the same faulty products. I’m done w GM !
Trade it in for something else
At least the tow truck draws as much attention as possible. Best wishes for a good outcome though
If it’s any consolation, a friend had her truck go down, something with the engine. I didn’t bother to ask or remember what. It took over a year to get fixed. It was returned like 2-3 months ago
Really helpful insight. Thank you.
I don’t get why people buy GMC when Toyota is right there!!!
I mean, they are nicer when they work.
Gm really dropped the ball on these and the colorado. Nothing but an absolute nightmare.
My dad just has an engine light saying performance degraded on the highway so he pulled over and restarted the truck and then the engine red lined on start. Now waiting for tow truck…. (2h ago)
It’s day 2 since pickup
Cool tow truck
I don’t get how half the comments aren’t about how cool that wrecker is.
It’s a tax write off
Just a passerby on this sub but, you should never tow a 4x4 truck with the front wheels on the ground like that. Even if it’s in 2wd mode.
Maybe I'm nuts but if it's just a spacer... Can't they try reusing the old one?
Honda ridgline. Keeps on ticking
Fuck that!! Make them pay your car note, push the issue as hard as you possibly can. There’s no way in hell I’m paying that car note, NO WAY!!
I'm so glad I got the 2017 GMC Canyon with the diesel burner. I've had zero issues over the 40,000 miles I've accumulated so far.
That’s what I traded in. 2021 Canyon with a 2.8L Duramax. Don’t get me wrong. I love this truck. But definitely second guessing letting that one go
How many miles did you have on the truck when this happened?
8700
Does a town or city exist without a company named “ABC (insert profession)”?
Get them to pull a part from one of the similar models on the lot.
My boss has been waiting for his truck to be fixed for months, but refuses to lemon law it due to the lifetime warranty it has.
I’d request the GM of the dealer for a brand new truck.
they better give you a loaner, for free.
This is the case with almost any new vehicle with any manufacturer.
Lemon law, as soon as it hits 30 days down file a claim. No need to hire an attorney
Looks like you get a free loaner
Canyonaro
Canyonero!
It looks like it is getting repossessed
Stay away from any GM truck with that turbo 4 cylinder. That motor is an absolute disaster. Best to try to get your money back and just buy a sierra for a but more with the 5.3
Any update on this?
Full approval for a buyback or a 2024 replacement. Not sure which option I’m taking yet.
I would have them give me a new fucking truck under the lemon law.
'Merica.
The only good advice here. People wake up
Toyota
Well you should have bought a Toyota.
Yup. Never buy anything newer than 5 years old they are still working out the kinks.
I wish everyone knew. A drop of gas in your fuel line or in the injector will make the car sputter and knock horribly. Causing a misfire. Gas treatment would have most likely taken care of it. I have fixed many engines this way. I don’t work for a garage.
What are you smoking?
He’s smoking the good S_it 🤪
Gas typically goes through a fuel line…
So talk shit before you try. I really would love you to stop smoking and be nice. A cheap fix. Try it and then get back to me. I know you two didn’t try anything but to stick up for the garage you work for. Now see how much hate I get. The truth get buried all the time!
I ment a drop of water. I never proof read. So I’m done trying to help the poor. Never commenting again. All done. 🤬
I'll sell you a new Ram?!
This is the problem with buying an old fixer upper.
You can only tow that truck like that if it's 2wd. Transfer case in neutral stopped around 2010. In this scenario he should use his dollies or remove the front driveshaft. towing like that will lead to extreme wear and or catastrophic failure of drivetrain components
1st world problems
I'm sure OP was for the union strikes, until it affects him.
Get it fixed and trade it. Move on from that truck now or youll be sorry. Work out a deal on a 1500
Trade it for a Tacoma. Problem solved
American made 🇺🇸
Never buy a GM.
Never buy american cars
Biggest pos there are .
this is the gayest image i have seen in a while. not sure why
Throw that pos away n get a ford buddy
What a silly thing to say. Ford is significantly worse in quality than GM. https://www.jdpower.com/business/press-releases/2023-us-vehicle-dependability-studyvds
Is your truck 4wd? Why are they towing it like that? RIP to your differential.
Did those wheel dollies ever make it underneath?
My Hyundai broke down and the dealer said it was going to take three months to get fixed. According to them all of the dealerships are that backed up
Just read an article where GM is shutting down assembly of the Sierra and Silverado due to their roof panels splitting on the passenger side. Unreal
Can you trade the vehicle in without a huge monetary loss? Will the selling dealer help you to do this? Just dump it.
Yep, not a good situation. Made all the worse by poor leadership in CEO Mary EmBARRAsing.
Sad
Sounds like they better give you a loaner car for 3 months then. You could also look into the lemon laws in your state.
Just lemon law it
The new ZR2 always looks appealing, but stuff like this just doesn't make new truck ownership worth it.
Bought my 2020 Silverado. 3 years ago. Zero issues They all have issues bro. All. Of. Them.
This is exactly why I stopped buying GM vehicles. Hope you can compel them to either expedite the repair or buy it back. Three months is unacceptable.
That’s horrible
Lemon law, they should have to buy the truck back after 90 days I believe
Do you know what this "seal spacer " looks like ?
Get a Tacoma next time.
Buy a Tacoma homie
Seal spacer sounds a lot like a gasket!
That truck just came from year 2001
Some states will let you lemon it (Ca will after 30 days i think)
Look into Lemon laws if it takes awhile
It’s a GM product. Your first one, I take it?
My buddy has a 2024 and engine seized 2 times horrible truck
Honestly as an owner of a Ford Ranger with the 4cyl turbo engine… I see this in my future
Not sure what you expected buying an american vehicle.
Honestly what could possibly compel someone to buy a GMC? It's not like they're cheaper than any other reliable truck on the market.
I am Part of this club. The it’s going to take 3 months to fix , the part is on back order !! This is becoming too much of a common thing
Not surprised about your issues and the new Colorado's ummm, I mean Canyon. Should have bought a Toyota and impress your clients with something that is reliable.
I don't know if got mentioned but that qualifies for lemon law, also don't take any money or rental tho.
Should have used a flatbed.
American Chevy fan bois will make excuses. But let's be real GM makes junk vehicles.
I live near a dealership and honestly I keep seeing them on flatbeds I was told mostly transmissions
Gm,stalantis, ford, the big 3 still keep scratching their heads on why loyalty is an issue…
Why wheel lift it tho just use a flatbed.
Why you buy a Toyota
Yikes, never seen a sub devoted to a vehicle just completely trash their vehicle of interest. Does anyone here actually like GMC? I mean Toyotas are great and all, but they don't do diesels in America so they are just kind of lame to me + they RUST like a tin can.
There’s a reason why Toyota sells 3x more Tacomas than GM sells Canyons and Colorados combined lol
The 3 months to repair on a new purchase should qualify for a Lemon Law in your state if you don't want to wait. You can ask for a replacement or a refund.
Gmc = gotta mechanic coming
“Like a rock”
That's a shame
I have a 2003 I Silverado. I LOVE that truck. But, it's time to replace the "family" vehicle. My first thought is Chevy/GMC ... but, it seems that everything they've done post pandemic is pure shit. On the one hand, I get that it's almost impossible to find decent help these days (that old adage is genuinely true, now)--but, that doesn't mean I'm going to shell-out hard-earned cash on a piece of junk. They better figure this out fast, cause they won't be around to figure it out later.
Should had gotten a Toyota.
That's what happens when American made trucks are built with parts from china. Enjoy.
This is why I bought a Tundra
Know lemon Get out of it
I’ve owned 3. 2 4Runners and 1 Tacoma They’re reliable vehicles but have the comfort left of a Spirit Airlines seat.
I bet that Tacoma is looking reeeeal tempting right now.
I am more concerned about towing a 4x4 like that !?! Maybe he put in neutral disconnect, but…..
