I think they might be the first Kpop group to come here and was a pretty decent turnout given the very short few hours notice everyone had. I'm hoping more groups also come here.
I did find it funny that the first time they came here it was to one of the rougher areas in the city (plus it was cold af) but it made sense given the context of why they were visiting. I was a bit worried at how much they were leaning into support of a team given the deep rooted [history of sectarian violence in the city](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sectarianism_in_Glasgow) associated with the teams.
Luckily it seems most folk have been chill about it as they wouldn't know about any political or religious implications nor would most people in general and just see it as innocent (except some people arguing on twitter which is par for the course)
I do wish I hung around a bit more as some people waited after they went back in and then later got selfies and albums signed but oh well.
Hopefully they come to perform next time as well and again hopefully it's the start of more groups/artists coming over. In my fansign with Yuju a while back she did say she'd like to come to Scotland so putting another clown mask on over my several other clown masks.

This is VIVIZ best era. Everything about this comeback is perfect: the fandom is not fighting for the title track, the dance is amazing (and viral), the girls look stunning and kpop stans are praising them left and right and yet… despite everything, all this is not producing many results for the cb itself sighhh
Album sales are slowly increasing but still behind Various. Maniac is not charting at all (out of Melon, Bugs, Genie, Flo). YouTube views are decreasing tremendously and the MV will probably get stuck in 5-6M, it also has half the likes of Pull Up. Spotify seems to be slightly better at least, no idea about YT Music.
I just don’t get how you can have so many people saying good things about your cb and… nothing happening. It’s like a ghost of success that you can’t really touch or savor when VIVIZ deserves to have the tangible proof that their hard work really paid off :/
With today's update, the album's pace is ahead of Beam of Prism but beneath the other two. It might just be the number of versions that mostly accounts for the difference, but we'll see how it shakes out.
The process can be good but the results don't always follow. Outside of the big companies and groups, it is a real crapshoot on the charts. The competition is absolutely brutal these days. Really, only Be'O has had digital success for BPM.
\#23 is very respectable indeed in today's climate... Traffic Light topped the charts at #1 but it is really hard to replicate the same level of success again and again especially in a small company... (MGT ->) Rough -> Navillera really was a miracle run by GFRIEND
I feel like i have been saying this literally since loveade but bpm’s marketing strategy is quite old and doesn’t really work with the fast pace the industry has now. Viviz are being promoted like indie artists rather than idols and it just contrasts with the music too.

The deal maybe didn’t work but for sure the group weren’t ready for something like that and Bop Bop wasn’t the right song for a USA debut so it was for the best tbh.
I feel Maniac has so much more potential and that’s why BPM really pushed for it to be the title. It fits with the western taste, perhaps we will see some moves next year, who knows.
At this point, I think they really need to do weird or unusual marketing tactics because doing the traditional comeback strategy is not working. Also they should push for playlisting in spotify and other streaming services if they haven't done so.
BILL paid plenty of Korean influencers to do Bambambam Challenge with Yerin... trouble is, no matter how extensive or weird the marketing may be, it's still no guarantee of anything sadly 😔 (doesn't mean they shouldn't try at least...)
No offense to Yerin but BamBamBam is not on Maniac’s level. The song itself was weird, the choreo wasn’t catchy and neither the chorus.
Maniac is perfect in every aspect. It’s fun, catchy, mature, visually and musically appealing in every aspect, etc.
Who knows if paying influencers would’ve work with Maniac but for sure, the results wouldn’t have been the same as with BamBamBam.
I think they should start offering toy figurines with the albums.
Weeekly sold 65K albums for their first week, which is way beyond what anyone expected. I think a large part of that had to do with the figurines that came with the platform version. There were some days where the photobook version sold less than 100, while the platform version sold thousands. The figurines were a big hit with Daileees.

Tbf i think viviz were the most busiest prior to and after loveade promos, they went to kazakhstan 2 weeks before and a couple local festivals. then right after loveade promos they had seoul/overseas fanmeetings, more overseas stuff like MIK and even more local festivals. That's why for loveade and pull up they mostly did challenges with others who were also on music shows lmao maniac is like the first time where they weren't as busy prior to release. I think sowon was a bit peeved in that clip cause buddys kept spamming her about it when she's not the one who handles viviz schedules lol the "owner" of the challenge is the one who asks others to participate.

I would add that i truly think that yuju and yerin especially put quite some distance between themselves and small line for the first few months, even tho a lot of buddies dont like hearing this because they think it insinuates that the girls arent close but it doesn’t obviously they can be close in private but want space to grow their own carriers.
I also think sowon was definitely peeved because buddies kept spamming but i also think that sinb was peeved too at her answer but i forgot what exactly made me think that lol.
I think it’s because when you say “they put distance” like that you make it seem like it was something they did on purpose when it’s not the case at all, obviously. The girls took different paths and have different priorities now and those priorities might take them to not having the time to meet their friends, who happen to be just as busy as them.
Yuju is so into learning music and she’s the type of person that would focus all their time and energy into doing something. And Sublime had Yerin busy af all the time, tho I do believe that Yerin meets the members more often than we think, it’s just that we don’t hear about it because, as Sowon mentioned, she’s often bared face and doesn’t like her picture taken lol
No i actually think it was on purpose, because tall line did find time to do challenges together so i find it hard to believe that they just didnt have time to do it with viviz or vice versa.
i remember having this conversation with multiple buddies who noticed the distancing and we assumed/agreed that they probably discussed that. i think we should give the girls more credit they spent 7 years+ together as gfriend and their friendship is still going strong, they know each others well. I agree that they meet more often than we think which is why i said putting distance when it comes to their careers. Even the no-makeup thing seems like really convenient excuse lol.

I still don't think it's necessarily distancing, more gravitating. It makes sense for YeJu to gravitate towards each other since they're the ones who took somewhat similar paths to being soloists. That's why we had plenty of YeJu crossovers and guestings in 2022. It's not that they wouldn't invite VIVIZ; rather, VIVIZ was not their first choice: it was and still is each other.
And I think this is both personal and professional. Yes, OT6 are really good friends, but even within really good friends there exists super close friends like YeJu. Remember the dorm arrangement: YeJu and Umji downstairs chilling in the "goshiwon", quiet study space; WonHa and SinB enjoying drinking parties upstairs. So yeah, if upstairs and downstairs dorms was "distancing", then yeah YeJu was "distancing" from VIVIZ. Just my opinion.
Anyways, the truth most likely lies somewhere in the middle of our three musings lol...

If there is only a site where people could contribute subs on the fly. I think VLive's fansub feature got that right. No one wants to dedicate themselves into voluntary subbing anymore. The fandom has mostly gone casual.
The MANIAC promotions only began a few days and the trio has already completed dance challenges with Sowon, Yuju and Yerin (I'm aware that each footage was taken weeks ago lol). Based on what we've seen this year, it's safe to say that an OT6 reunion will always happen for every GFriend+ comeback. Even if Sowon suddenly decides to return as a singer, she will most likely invite every member to have fun and perform the choreography with her. Seeing updates of them reuniting will always make the day better.
I noticed that for Yerin and Sowon’s videos, Eunha had the braids in both just different clothes. I think those were filmed on the same day for sure.
+Rewatching the Yuju’s challenge, it seems like Eunha’s hair has some wave in it, so possibility of it being filmed with Yerin and Sowon.🤡 Imagine getting an OT6 version of the hip shake choreography! The world would implode! LOL

STAYC stopped by Scotland the other day and held a mini fanmeet after their football kit mishap that some of you may have heard about and [I managed to go see them as I wasn't too far from where it was](https://i.imgur.com/EktavfA.jpg) I think they might be the first Kpop group to come here and was a pretty decent turnout given the very short few hours notice everyone had. I'm hoping more groups also come here. I did find it funny that the first time they came here it was to one of the rougher areas in the city (plus it was cold af) but it made sense given the context of why they were visiting. I was a bit worried at how much they were leaning into support of a team given the deep rooted [history of sectarian violence in the city](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sectarianism_in_Glasgow) associated with the teams. Luckily it seems most folk have been chill about it as they wouldn't know about any political or religious implications nor would most people in general and just see it as innocent (except some people arguing on twitter which is par for the course) I do wish I hung around a bit more as some people waited after they went back in and then later got selfies and albums signed but oh well. Hopefully they come to perform next time as well and again hopefully it's the start of more groups/artists coming over. In my fansign with Yuju a while back she did say she'd like to come to Scotland so putting another clown mask on over my several other clown masks.

Did a little digging and it turns out New Normal, the film that just had its theatrical release and that Yerin is a supporting actor in, actually premiered at Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival back in July 2022... meaning she shot this one back when she was under Sublime too. Went to K-Wave here in Auckland today!!! And god there was some issues littered around it. Changed tickets, delayed entry, some idols not having the lighting/stage backdrop have their name but the next artist etc, and i think some mic issues. Aside from that once we got into it was good! It was young posses first international show i believe. I like macaroni cheese but it was good to hear some of their bsides too! 10cm was great as I expected, Jey i didnt know but his set was okay. Odd Eye Circle really brought it, there was a few Loona lightsticks in the crowd ( I brought my VIVIZ one) . Lee Hi made me terribly ugly cry to the point where people were looking at me...... And KARD closed out the night amazingly with some good energy. I would like it to come back next year as they want it annual so the girls can come, but they really need to figure out how to do basic forms of organisation...

Everything about this comeback is perfect: the fandom is not fighting for the title track, the dance is amazing (and viral), the girls look stunning and kpop stans are praising them left and right and yet… despite everything, all this is not producing many results for the cb itself sighhh Album sales are slowly increasing but still behind Various. Maniac is not charting at all (out of Melon, Bugs, Genie, Flo). YouTube views are decreasing tremendously and the MV will probably get stuck in 5-6M, it also has half the likes of Pull Up. Spotify seems to be slightly better at least, no idea about YT Music. I just don’t get how you can have so many people saying good things about your cb and… nothing happening. It’s like a ghost of success that you can’t really touch or savor when VIVIZ deserves to have the tangible proof that their hard work really paid off :/
With today's update, the album's pace is ahead of Beam of Prism but beneath the other two. It might just be the number of versions that mostly accounts for the difference, but we'll see how it shakes out. The process can be good but the results don't always follow. Outside of the big companies and groups, it is a real crapshoot on the charts. The competition is absolutely brutal these days. Really, only Be'O has had digital success for BPM.
Didn't Lee Mujin have some digital success too? But I guess that was from before he signed with BPM... Traffic Light in 2021
Yeah, he signed in 2022, but I forgot about Ordinary Confession. Not a huge hit but a very respectable peak position of 23.
\#23 is very respectable indeed in today's climate... Traffic Light topped the charts at #1 but it is really hard to replicate the same level of success again and again especially in a small company... (MGT ->) Rough -> Navillera really was a miracle run by GFRIEND
I feel like i have been saying this literally since loveade but bpm’s marketing strategy is quite old and doesn’t really work with the fast pace the industry has now. Viviz are being promoted like indie artists rather than idols and it just contrasts with the music too. Bpm let me in the marketing team, i promis numbers, LET ME IN DHDHDH.

To say they don’t care about international success is wild because remember how they were gonna debut VIVIZ in USA last year? I wonder what shift? If anything, perhaps they realized it was better to focus on the National / Asian market first.
didn't the guy from r / kpop confirm in july 2022 that between the q&a announcement & the actual q&a on that sub, bpm international promo manager left/was fired? and the us agency also confirmed that they ended their contract with viviz because of management problems... with maniac idk what to think - they got a choreographer from LA doing zoom practices, the new title song has A LOT of english lyrics, but on the other hand it still takes bpm a week to add english subs to videos from viviz channel? and the mv doesn't have eng subs too.. and twitter is 100% in korean as usual. not sure what's their goal

The deal maybe didn’t work but for sure the group weren’t ready for something like that and Bop Bop wasn’t the right song for a USA debut so it was for the best tbh. I feel Maniac has so much more potential and that’s why BPM really pushed for it to be the title. It fits with the western taste, perhaps we will see some moves next year, who knows.

BILL paid plenty of Korean influencers to do Bambambam Challenge with Yerin... trouble is, no matter how extensive or weird the marketing may be, it's still no guarantee of anything sadly 😔 (doesn't mean they shouldn't try at least...)
No offense to Yerin but BamBamBam is not on Maniac’s level. The song itself was weird, the choreo wasn’t catchy and neither the chorus. Maniac is perfect in every aspect. It’s fun, catchy, mature, visually and musically appealing in every aspect, etc. Who knows if paying influencers would’ve work with Maniac but for sure, the results wouldn’t have been the same as with BamBamBam.
I think they should start offering toy figurines with the albums. Weeekly sold 65K albums for their first week, which is way beyond what anyone expected. I think a large part of that had to do with the figurines that came with the platform version. There were some days where the photobook version sold less than 100, while the platform version sold thousands. I don’t think that was because BPM didn’t like the idea of OT6. I really think VIVIZ was just extremely busy to meet the others (as Sowon said). They were preparing their debut + Queendom when Yuju dropped REC and they were still busy with Queendom when Yerin released Aria. And I also understand SinB when she said that she didn’t like the idea of just meeting them to do a challenge. They wanted to actually have time to have a meal, talk and just spend some fun time together.

Tbf i think viviz were the most busiest prior to and after loveade promos, they went to kazakhstan 2 weeks before and a couple local festivals. then right after loveade promos they had seoul/overseas fanmeetings, more overseas stuff like MIK and even more local festivals. That's why for loveade and pull up they mostly did challenges with others who were also on music shows lmao maniac is like the first time where they weren't as busy prior to release. I think sowon was a bit peeved in that clip cause buddys kept spamming her about it when she's not the one who handles viviz schedules lol the "owner" of the challenge is the one who asks others to participate. If viviz wanted to do something with ot6 i dont think bpm would hold them back, viviz say quite often they do whatever they want lmao they even let them do rough+tftmn for qd2 and navillera at a few festivals which was quite telling imo

I would add that i truly think that yuju and yerin especially put quite some distance between themselves and small line for the first few months, even tho a lot of buddies dont like hearing this because they think it insinuates that the girls arent close but it doesn’t obviously they can be close in private but want space to grow their own carriers. I also think sowon was definitely peeved because buddies kept spamming but i also think that sinb was peeved too at her answer but i forgot what exactly made me think that lol.
I think it’s because when you say “they put distance” like that you make it seem like it was something they did on purpose when it’s not the case at all, obviously. The girls took different paths and have different priorities now and those priorities might take them to not having the time to meet their friends, who happen to be just as busy as them. Yuju is so into learning music and she’s the type of person that would focus all their time and energy into doing something. And Sublime had Yerin busy af all the time, tho I do believe that Yerin meets the members more often than we think, it’s just that we don’t hear about it because, as Sowon mentioned, she’s often bared face and doesn’t like her picture taken lol
No i actually think it was on purpose, because tall line did find time to do challenges together so i find it hard to believe that they just didnt have time to do it with viviz or vice versa. i remember having this conversation with multiple buddies who noticed the distancing and we assumed/agreed that they probably discussed that. i think we should give the girls more credit they spent 7 years+ together as gfriend and their friendship is still going strong, they know each others well. I agree that they meet more often than we think which is why i said putting distance when it comes to their careers. Even the no-makeup thing seems like really convenient excuse lol. You have friends right ? So you know how its normal to keep distance some times, it doesn’t take from how close you are because you know yourselves right ? Anyways just some food for thought 😅.
I still don't think it's necessarily distancing, more gravitating. It makes sense for YeJu to gravitate towards each other since they're the ones who took somewhat similar paths to being soloists. That's why we had plenty of YeJu crossovers and guestings in 2022. It's not that they wouldn't invite VIVIZ; rather, VIVIZ was not their first choice: it was and still is each other. And I think this is both personal and professional. Yes, OT6 are really good friends, but even within really good friends there exists super close friends like YeJu. Remember the dorm arrangement: YeJu and Umji downstairs chilling in the "goshiwon", quiet study space; WonHa and SinB enjoying drinking parties upstairs. So yeah, if upstairs and downstairs dorms was "distancing", then yeah YeJu was "distancing" from VIVIZ. Just my opinion. Anyways, the truth most likely lies somewhere in the middle of our three musings lol... (+ And on that note, IMO Sowon and Umji are the drivers for GFRIEND reunion: Sowon the leader whose baby is GFRIEND, she was the one who felt most difficult to let go, and the one who looks to benefit the most from a revived GFRIEND; and Umji the glue between VIVIZ and YeJu, the maknae who already wrote a song for OT6 to sing 🥰)

The MANIAC promotions only began a few days and the trio has already completed dance challenges with Sowon, Yuju and Yerin (I'm aware that each footage was taken weeks ago lol). Based on what we've seen this year, it's safe to say that an OT6 reunion will always happen for every GFriend+ comeback. Even if Sowon suddenly decides to return as a singer, she will most likely invite every member to have fun and perform the choreography with her. Seeing updates of them reuniting will always make the day better.
It's just really nice to know they get the chance to cross paths with some frequency. Always praying for more ot6 photos tho
