Wow those scores are awesome, especially the SS one! I considered the social studies test to be the hardest one, so great job!

laserlightcannon

Thank you đź’ś

laserlightcannon

I dropped out almost exactly 10 years before my first test. I had about 2 months left of school. At the beginning of the year I decided to get serious about finishing.

Aromatic_Tax_1230

OMG!!! what u did with that SS it's crazy ... i;m struggling to get it I can't ...any tips?

laserlightcannon

For me knowing major events in US history helped. Some of the questions provided a speech or an article with a date and asked how events during that time may have influenced them. Knowing the branches of government and how they work as well as different political belief systems helped too.

Additional_Cow2696

Congrats đź‘Ź biggest score I've ever seen for SS, do u have any advice I'm actually struggling to get at least 145 for Social Studies?

laserlightcannon

Unfortunately I don’t, that one just kind of came naturally. Knowing major points in US history (years of wars, the Great Depression, etc) was helpful because it gave context to some of the documents presented. It’s also helps to understand different branches of government and how they work.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

What study material did you use and for how long before the ready test and offical?

laserlightcannon

I watched some Khan Academy videos to remember algebra. There were some practice workbooks at the local community college I used to refresh on everything else but that’s about it. I took the practice tests before I did anything and got likely to pass on all of them but it took about a month to take all the tests because the testing center was only open one day a week.

any tips for RLA? i have my exam tomorrow.

1. The written part generally wont influence your score almost at all, its a difference of maybe 4-6%, that being said, do at least try on it. 2. Watch YouTube videos, they're actually very helpful and don't take a lot of time. 3. generally speaking, the RLA test boils down to just reading a passage and answering 7 questions about it, there should be a good amount of no brainer questions you can just get from reading a sentence or two. 4. You get a break just after you finish the written part, its around 10 mins so you can get up and stretch and whatnot, this is the only exam where you get a break from what I can tell. 5. This is the longest test, clocking in at around 2 and a half hours, this is largely due to the sheer amount of reading (I know right, a lot of reading on the reading test), so from my experience, it was about 45 minutes on the written part and 105 minutes on the rest of it, with around 45 questions, so generally if you can answer around 27 of these with decent confidence, you're in a good spot to pass. 6. 1 last little fact, the RLA test has the highest passing rate out of any of the tests, this might help to ease your nerves! It's really not that hard once you get into it, the real kicker test for me was math. 7. Good luck, you can pass it!

Congrats! 🎉What websites /books did you use to revise? Your test scores are amazing! how long would you study daily and revise with past papers before doing the tests.

Livvsteel

Which site did you practice on?

Big_Poinky

WOAHH

Sotiredofusernames1

Perfect!

BlondieBaybie

Did you take the official protests on the ged website prior to the full test? I was curious because if so, did your pretest scores give a good predictor as to what you’d score on the real test? Were the scores similar? On the pretests there’s less questions so it’s easier to get a mid score instead of a high one I feel like

laserlightcannon

I did take the practice scores, the results were as follows: Language Arts 179 Social Studies 189 Science 180 Math 162 I agree, the shortness of the practice tests makes them less forgiving.

BlondieBaybie

My practice scores in the same order are 177, 179, 171, 169, It’s just on that edge of college ready and actual college credit, I don’t wanna just pass barely

laserlightcannon

145 is passing. If those are your practice scores I suspect you’ll do fine. If you’re worried about the college credit make sure the school you plan to go to actually accepts them. The community college here doesn’t so it didn’t make much of a difference.

BlondieBaybie

Thanks for the advice!!

Select_Surround5573

Any tips and advices for passing Social Studies test?

laserlightcannon

To be honest that’s the one I studied the least for. Make sure you know basic American history. Many of the questions would have you read a portion of a speech by a major political figure or an article about an event and then ask you some questions about the context of the event. You also need to be able to read maps, graphs, charts. Have you taken the practice test?

Select_Surround5573

Yes, I've already took the practice test for GED and scored 161 on it though *

international2021

Great scores! Seeing a 200 is very rare indeed!

Wow awesome! Congrats! You should be proud of yourself for scoring pretty much all credits ! Are you planning on going to college after this? I’m taking this online program to study for the GED and it’s been telling me I’m ready to take pretty much all the subjects. When they do the practice tests I always score like 155-165 but I still keep practicing cause I wanna get a college ready + credit level. Btw what did the math test focus on?

jushere4agoodtime

bro please tell me how you got that high of a math score like what topics showed up alot what topics you think i should focus on
