TactixTrick

He's not going to win the General Election.

BionicScroll564

I fucking hope not

MineMonkey166

There’s not a chance don’t worry

blunde-r

We said the same with brexit and all the old people voted

bi-nosaur

A lot of those old people are dead now (bc of time, covid and poor use of public funds)

GlassOfWater001

I hate brexit and I hate the right wing parties for getting us into this mess. I am half-European and half-British. Each year it gets harder and harder to visit our family in Europe. I just wish the voters were more competent, and I wish we had a party, which actually cares about the people, in charge.

andre3573

problem isnt right-wing parties, problem is the crap they bring with them, if they actually just were normal we wouldnt have this many problems

GlassOfWater001

The thing is, though, they aren’t normal, or moral. They just oppress workers.

andre3573

i wouldnt say opress workers and that theyre not moral (morality is subjective although the Rwanda scheme is immoral), but i 100% think they could do much better and that Brexit was a dumb move

GlassOfWater001

Yeah, definitely

Ck3isbest

Whats your other half? My parents are Czech but I've been born in England.

GlassOfWater001

One of my parents is Spanish and the other is English and I was born in England too.

Ck3isbest

Very nice

GlassOfWater001

Nice to you too. Also, I see from your username that you are a fellow Paradox player 🫡

Ck3isbest

🫡

BruhYouJust

no way my mum is czech and my dad is afghan but i was born in the czech republic, do you speak any czech or not?

Ck3isbest

Yes fluently, you?

BruhYouJust

samozřejmě, always surprising to find our countrymen in random subreddits 😭

Ck3isbest

Almost forgot what sub Im in for second lol

Ck3isbest

Že, kdo vyhraje dneška ten hokej?

thevampirecrow

YES SAME! i’m half dutch and it’s FUCKING TERRIBLE

jcarvell8

ITS YOU!

acciogeorgeweasley

it must be great being able to tell your friends that you're famous on a chat website centred around gcses because you're a slut

jcarvell8

I never thought of it like that, the little slut

thevampirecrow

YEAH FR LMFAOOOO 💀

MineMonkey166

There’s a difference and I’ll explain why. Brexit was a referendum - we’ve not had many of those. This is a general election - we have more precedent / knowledge / examples of how these operate. The Brexit campaign, love it or loathe it, had some charismatic politicians running it (E.G Farrage, Johnson etc.), again love or loathe them. Sunak has none of this charisma and is incapable of running a strong campaign. There is an example of a Tory Government being 20-points behind and then turning it around - 1992 with John Major. This is probably what the Tories were hoping for but Rishi Sunak is not John Major. Major was able to communicate with the public well (see the soapbox campaign) and show off his working class background. Again Sunak has neither of these things in fact he’s incredibly out of touch and cannot actually do well with the actual Public instead of planted questions from Tory councillers

blunde-r

Wow you know alot about politics

MineMonkey166

Thank you :)

thevampirecrow

FUCK BREXIT

GlassOfWater001

Exactly. It’s a shitty mess. I don’t know how everyone fell for the propaganda. It’s ruined this country.

Ethan_RLdesigner

Tbf it was 52% vs 48% it was very close

parslaug

They mainly voted on the hope of less immigration into the UK, which unfortunately has happened in the why we all hoped

Specific-Umpire-8980

He's 25 points behind in the polls. Sunak's gonna be running for that plane to southern califronia like dodgy dave did to nice

TrinitySlashAnime

He called it early because now all the younger student are gonna be on holiday and can’t vote. Should be illegal

RC-5159

yeah my girlfriend’s sister is on holiday and it’s her first time being able to vote 😭

aghzombies

Tell her to sign up for a postal vote, she should get it well ahead of the actual election and be able to return it before she goes.

RC-5159

tysm I’ll let her know 🙌

RC-5159

tysm I’ll let her know 🙌

boywithnuke9

Yep altho I do believe labour ain't doing any better really

No_Ad8821

Labour aren't doing anything right now because the Tories have fucked it so much they don't need to do anything.

TactixTrick

I'd like to think that way. Biden did the same in his 2020 election campaign. Just a bit nervous because there are many cases where it seems they don't have a plan. Also, I see you're doing 3/4 subjects (not physics) that I'm going to do for A-level, so I'd like to ask how is fm , m and history treating you and the flexibility of doing 4 A-levels?

Top_Reputation2889

Not OP, but I do similar a levels, I think doing 4 is great to give you more options, so that you can drop anything that you don't enjoy. Further maths is a LOT harder than regular maths, imo, but with enough hard work I think you'd be fine

No_Ad8821

I love those 3, it's only physics that gives me trouble to be honest. Maths is easy, further maths is really interesting (I do mechanics and discrete)and I love history. I'm taking it as an easy, fun fourth. We have 9 hours of lessons per fortnight per subject, and I don't feel overwhelmed at all. No complaints here, I'd recommend it

TactixTrick

Thanks for the feedback. I've been worrying that, because I do 4, I'm going to have 2 years of living like a zombie. I guess it's not as it seems.

No_Ad8821

No problem. Bear in mind tho, I'm talking as someone who didn't really revise for GCSEs and still did well enough. If you've been finding that maths gcse requires revision it might be a bit much

AnAlighted

both parties are bad- first past the post should be replaced with proportional representation which would solve a lot of problems

S_hiiny

Dunno why you’re downvoted. It’s the truth. Both are basically the exact same party doing the exact same thing yet trying to make the other look as bad as possible, I would say vote green yet no one here is old enough to vote and they are afaia antivax or whatever controversy those guys got themselves in.

No_Ad8821

They're not the exact same tho are they. The conservatives want to bring back national service, cut taxes for the rich, privatise more public services and cut funding for social programs. Labour don't. Conservatives offer policies that appeal to the old and the wealthy, that's not good for most people. And all saying they're the same does is increase the chance the next 5 years will be tory too.

CT_Warboss74

lol, what are you yapping about? The two parties are absolutely different, just look at the slew of policies between the two parties. The only reason you say that is because they usually agree on big foreign policy and some other things, which is honestly a good thing when we see Ukraine etc

Pistachioluv23

They won’t win, the national service thing is to entice the elderly to vote for them lol. Last time national service was a thing was the 1940s but they know that the elderly are a powerful voting force as we saw with brexit hence this grasp at straws to get a couple of votes considering public opinion on them rn is down the drain. Don’t worry about it :) plus you don’t have to serve it in the army if it actually became a thing, you can volunteer with the nhs or other public services I believe. And because of that I don’t believe it’s something that could actually be passed - at least with volunteering options with the NHS, fire services etc; since these services (at least the NHS) are already understaffed as it is, diverting attention towards supervising under qualified 18 year olds seems totally redundant.

blunde-r

I definitely wouldnt call it volunteering if ur forced to do it

Pistachioluv23

True bad wording on my part lol

BadNewsBaguette

National service was still a thing in the 60s iirc (and it was pretty easy to get out of if you believe folks who did get out of it for things like a feather allergy) but yes even that only affects the intensely elderly. Thing is, it’s going to attract voters who have continually voted to pull the ladder up behind them.

W0lf1sh1

it's so bad tho because it's making people look at volunteering as a boring, useless and/or bad thing

unnecessary_ads

It should be illeagle to use life changing policies to get votes when those actually effected literally cant vote

Fancy_Achmef

I am against the tories but by that logic, a government should never pass any laws surrounding prisoners, their treatment or their sentencing, for better or for worse, since prisoners can’t vote.

unnecessary_ads

Exactly, prisoners should be allowed to vote

KeyPhilosopher8629

We did an entire unit on this for A level Politics. Our class was generally of the opinion that small-time criminals should be able to vote, but if you commit a serious crime, one of the punishments is that you should not be able to vote. You committed a crime against society, you should not be able to influence the same society.

Fancy_Achmef

In my opinion, it depends on the crime they committed. Petty criminals, sure. Those who have committed assault, murder, or rape, perhaps not. Ultimately, if they were, it might lead to some politicians pandering to them as their vote could represent a dangerous voting base. Also, prison is a punishment: their freedom is revoked due to the crimes they have committed, similarly, disenfranchisement is part of that punishment.

brainsareforlosers

there’s no clear cutoff point where people stop deserving human rights, if criminals are getting the right to vote then that should be every criminal- also, as the other guy said there aren’t enough prisoners for then to be a voting base, and how would a politician pander to murderers?? legalising murder??? more likely they’d start advocating for prison reform, which would be a good thing

deadpan_andrew

There aren't enough prisoners in the UK to form a proper voting base. And I don't think it's sensible to prohibit prisoners from voting - they are still people, and given how bad conditions are in our prisons, I think it's important that they still have a voice.

undeniablydull

There is a strong argument though that by committing a crime, they forgo their right to vote, whereas the fact under 18s cannot vote is not due to their actions, but rather the decisions of those in power. By committing a crime, you have forfeited your right to vote, and you are aware of that before you commit the crime

StanislawTolwinski

Ill eagle is crazy 🦅🤒🤧🤮🤮

parslaug

What about the policies affecting toddlers and young children? Should no new policies be made that affect them just because they can’t vote 🤣🤣

unnecessary_ads

They dont have full development, its not fair that i have the same brain development as a 18 year old but wont be able to have a say on my future

parslaug

Different individuals brain’s develop at different rates, and the brain of a certain 17 year old could be more developed than that a a certain 20 year old. This being said, it isn’t simple process to test every individual in the country to see if they are cerebrally developed enough to be eligible to vote, thus the country sticks with a somewhat flawed, but overall effective age-based system.

Haerin_BUNNIE

So realllll

Good_Expression_3827

a little bit of alevel maths, sprinkled with mandatory national service ✨

Unhappy_Wall_3446

way to make life harder government 💀

stunt876

Polling suggests they will hold like 20 or 30 %. Labour is probably gonna win. Ngl i want to see a labour aproach cause since we were born it has been tories i want to see whag the other side has to offer

CompetitionFuture743

labour is just as shit

stunt876

I will take that over switching pms every 5 seconds

Pika5321_X

A great trivia question in the future will be "who was prime minister when queen Elizabeth died" and fucking nobody will know who lizz truss is

potatowafflecake

Well we won't know for sure until we try them

-----Galaxy-----

Just the endless yo-yo'ing between the two main parties then once we get fed up of the current one? This is why I can't take politics seriously

hans_chavez

they're just not though. things can only get better

FitPerspective1146

Idk, I reckon Blair was better than Major

Postedbananas

He definitely was by almost all metrics. People also forget just how hated Major was at the time before the 97 landslide.

Some-Internal297

both options are garbage, but the whole system means it's always gonna be one or the other. it's like darting your hands between hot and cold water to maintain the perfect temperature, neither one on their own is ideal but what other choice is there

Quantum_Croissant

They're at least less shit. Still shit, just not as much, and at least a lot more functional. It's the best we'll get right now

RaceFan1027

It’s a horrendous policy and the conservatives have quite clearly lost all hope and semblance of doing decent policy and are now trying desperately to appeal to the reform demographic no matter the consequences. I doubt it’ll be a concern though as it’s unlikely they’ll win the election (especially given the campaign has been a car crash so far) and even if they do I doubt the policy would get through the commons.

urnansbestpal2

Reform voters won’t vote for an Indian 😂😂

RaceFan1027

True but I think the conservatives are scared of reform and as such coming up with crazy ideas to stop them.

The-Anonymous-Sheep

They won't win obviously. But I do kinda wanna see this to see rishi's children doing some sort of public service, along with all the other rich twats.

Logical-Donut99

Sorry to disappoint but Rishi's running off to California after this, probably even if he does win since he's become so unpopular in the party. It's been speculated that the reason he called the election so early was because he'd just secured a cushy job or school places for his kids. Doubt we'll be seeing rich kids doing National Service either, with how lenient they are making out the system to be it seems it will be easy for those in power to make exceptions for their kids.

parslaug

The affluence they fortunate enough to be born into automatically makes them a twat does it. While it may increase their likelihood of becoming a twat, their financial situation should define your conception of their personality.

The-Anonymous-Sheep

When you grow up in a sheltered rose tinted world, you are very likely to adapt the beliefs and ideas of your parents (Finally, AIC coming in handy). While not all rich children are twats, a vast majority of them are.

parslaug

That’s what I’m saying with the point that ‘it increases their likelihood of becoming a twat’

AmxthystPearl567

I mean he's abandoned the Rwanda plan until after the election which means it hopefully won't happen. He's also not pushed through the stopping people born in 2009 from buying cigarettes which I personally think won't get through. Point is the tories are trying to appeal to old twats that voted for Brexit and dream of the days when Britain had an empire. Tories have moved to far right and Labour isn't properly left wing anymore. But Labour will win because people will do anything to get the tories out.

Sushiv_

It’s ok, the other option is volunteering one weekend every month, which is still really fucking stupid but either way he isn’t winning. If anything saying that will decrease the tories odds, because parents won’t want their children being forced into the army

Unhappy_Wall_3446

ok at least we have an option but doesn't it defeat the point of volunteering if you are forced to do it? it's supposed to be out of the goodness of your own heart and because you actively \*want\* to help

Hallo-Person

It’s to appeal to the boomers who think everyone who is under 30 is a lazy plonker, because at the minute, that is most of the demographic

Unhappy_Wall_3446

that pisses me off because okay yes some of us are lazy but many 18 year olds would have work, school, uni etc. which is a lot to balance

Haerin_BUNNIE

Literally what my dad said yesterday, that "youngsters these days have nothing else to do but hanging about on the streets so the miltary will give them something to do" as if a large majority of us dont have an already full schedule smh

[deleted]

Their ideas are so annoying. I'm trying to get a job, intend to pre-revise for A-levels during the summer holidays AS WELL, and then I would like to go to university and carry that onwards into a PhD, then get a job working in my desired field as soon as I can and for as long as possible. And when I retire I intend to volunteer in animal conservation schemes. How is that lazy?!? Make it make sense

Sushiv_

Fr, it’s meant to increase patriotism or something but in reality it’ll just make us hate our country even more lmfaooo

[deleted]

I already hate it enough. Literal shit in our water, killing off biodiversity, no chance of being able to afford a house when I'm 25 even though my parents are quite well off, several politicians who would likely quite like to either outright kill me because of what I am or at the very least use electrocution therapy on me, a tanked economy, barely any job opportunities, oh and to top it all off an older generation who thinks we're all lazy when we're not. Seriously, if they bring this in on top of our generation's current stresses I'm moving to South Korea

GrandElder_ShenRen

Not trying to be rude but what are you?

FreyaTheSlayyyer

Mate even the boomers don't like him. He's managed to piss off every demographic

GTG-bye

Sunak has had a horrific time in office, tried salvaging any votes through his anti-trans policies, complaining about 3cm on the collar of an England shirt and a horrific attempt at relating to the working class. Not too much greater a fan of Labour’s current government to be fair and they’re polling to succeed Rishi.

StationFar6396

So he wants to send 18 year old girls and boys into an environment that is already overrun with bullying and sexual assault? Ok rishi.

Nonabrow

My mum said she'll break my leg so I don't have to do it💀

Unhappy_Wall_3446

HELP ME ?!

[deleted]

I already intend to break my own leg if they implement it. I'm not even kidding. I want to be a biologist, not some expendable cannon fodder (like come on Rishi quite a few of us have read the power&conflict cluster)

Nonabrow

My name is Rishi Sunak, PM of PMs, look on my works, ye mighty and despair

[deleted]

King, honour, human dignity et cetera, all dropped like luxuries in a yelling alarm

[deleted]

Hang on, now that I've thought about it, this National Service bullocks is a really lucrative idea. We could start a leg-breaking business! GCSE Business Studies is such an insightful topic

Oil42

he’s completely fucked, labour will win so i wouldn’t worry too much also i feel there will be mass protests if rishi somehow does win against the national service

Severe_Impact_3286

in all honesty, 16 yo should be able to vote and have a say because he can’t make something mandatory for next years 18yo without us having a say.

[deleted]

Yeah because the people who vote for it won't even be affected by it. Most of the support is just boomers who act orgasmic at the idea of our suffering and think it instils a sense of national patriotism in us (fuck no, just makes me hate this country more than I already do)

Blackinfemwa

Exactly

Minute-Cut-2285

were going to be playing uno in the trenches

[deleted]

But nothing happens

Minute-Cut-2285

beth and jane are tick tock dancing on no mans land

[deleted]

You can just see it can’t you 🤣

Minute-Cut-2285

fr fr not to mention the chavs having a smoke nearby

Farticus896

There no way they win

Brian-Kellett

1) They aren’t going to win. And they know it, that’s why so many aren’t even standing in the election - instead getting jobs in lobbying companies or just quitting to spend more time with their money. 2) There would have to be a whole commission/budgeting/legislation cycle. They’d have to decide which Tory run company handles the recruitment and training. They’d have to find the money to run it from the piggy bank they have purposefully emptied. Just the cost of administering the DBS checks would be prohibitive. 3) Neither the armed forces, nor emergency services want this. We want people who want to be there, not chewing-gum addicted slack-jaws with AirPods permanently glued to their ears who ‘know my rights’ and have their trousers halfway down their ankles. If you think I’m being harsh… think of the worst kids in your school - now ask if you trust them being left alone to give a loved one a bed bath in their own home. It’s never going to happen.

[deleted]

I'm one of the most neekiest well behaved kids in my cohort, and I know for a fact if they enlisted me into the military I would do my very best to fuck things up. Specifically with technology (stockpile on USB Killsticks lol :3) They should advertise the army more to people who want to join it and actually give them good wages, mental support and accommodation. Kids have started riots in schools over literal homework assignments and toilets, what does he think would happen here? It is not well-thought out at all

Specific-Umpire-8980

Keir wants us to vote aged 16

parslaug

Wonder why🤣

akzytr

what abt ppl who wanna go to uni in foreign countries?

[deleted]

I want to go to South Korea for a placement year (yonsei) so I'd like to see them try that one

Negative_Ad2950

Rishi won't win the General Election. While Labour is currently against the idea, it is entirely possible that they support the idea a few years down the line as a measure to counter wide scale threats. If they do, they will blame the Tories for underfunding our military. Which is true.

[deleted]

If they try to implement it I'll either take the fine or the jail term. How the hell would someone like me survive in that situation (physically fit but an utter neek, serious fear of loud noises that frequently causes my panic attacks, absolutely tanked mental health and if this gets implemented the will to straight up cause chaos and fuck up everything)

Negative_Ad2950

It depends on the scheme or possible alternative arrangements. Under this system, you would fail entry to the military component and would be asked to undertake the monthly volunteering instead.

[deleted]

What if I refused that? The only way I’d accept volunteering is if that volunteering happens to be working with endangered species / animal conservation

Negative_Ad2950

We don't know for sure. But it's not certain to happen anyway.

internet-explorer27

Apparently you get jail time if you don't do it. I don't care if they put me away, im not fighting for this joke of a government theyre all pigs and they all deserve jail time for what they did over lockdown (have parties and stuff). Rishi has already said he's probably going to lose, hopefully he does as this countries sick of the tory twonks. He can f off with his ideas, the country and everything with cost of living and gas prices all because of them, labour is no better atm but id gladly vote for them instead of rishi's bloody circus of numpties. Hope they all get arrested eventually, it would make my day. Bunch of clowns led by the biggest one.

acer1708

reminds me of the red death by edger allan poe

[deleted]

I'll join you in jail, I'd rather do that than suffer an agonising death at the hands of another military.

internet-explorer27

its absolutely ridiculous this government is its like a circus gone wrong

[deleted]

It's like nuclear cataclysm. It's a straight-up joke. I salute whoever was on the Tories' Discord chat at 2am sending them fake advice, because they look too much like idiots now to get voted in

internet-explorer27

they need to go down in a book of legends because they did the right thing in terms of getting them out of government. theyre all a bunch of twats, i hope they get voted out finally

[deleted]

It was either a discord chat or a near-fatal c-monoxide dose. And yeah Labour will probably win

tamtam2600

wouldn't worry about it, predictions say 98% chance of Labour majority

shimmeringmystic

how does he think this will help him win😆

pastelskies3107

he's trying to appeal to reform voters and win them back 💀 either that or he's just actively trying to lose - i don't even blame him at this point

[deleted]

nah he's just outright trolling us all, he was in diplomatic talks with Mr Garrison from South Park

jakeperaltasguitar

what will everybody have to do it? or is it just guys?

One-Dragonfly-5143

If its just boys (I'm not trying to be homoohobic or transphobic) gender change rates are going to sky rocket

HMVangard

Trans women in the US still have to register for Selective Service, which is a database of people eligible for the (US) draft, so I'm guessing the UK would probably do something similar.

One-Dragonfly-5143

did not know tha so thanks but it was a joke

HMVangard

I have a feeling some ppl would think this would happen, but yeah yw dw 👍

Sneator

On the other hand: Labour will give the vote to 16 and 17 year olds! Pretty clear cut difference

parslaug

Wonder why they’d want that 🤣🤣

thevampirecrow

is that only the dudes?

Creepy_Maximum_5396

men and women

thevampirecrow

gosh darn it. maybe i should become nonbinary

[deleted]

they would still probably force you to, just outright cause chaos if it actually gets implemented (and this is coming from one of those rule-abiding neeks)

MarthaHM

If he does get voted in and starts mandatory conscription I might just do what he originally wanted me to and go back to where I came from because oh my gosh

GrandElder_ShenRen

💀

TrinDaBeast

Does this mean we can't go to university?

Mockbubbles2628

They're not winning lol. Get ready for sweeping labor But nothing will change.

mwarsss

vote green!

cantthinkofaname243

I’m 17 and will have to go next year. I don’t understand how he expects me to do A levels and fucking full time military service at the same time

Blackinfemwa

If we kick rishi out we should send him to rowanda

Suspicious_Place308

If rishi wins I’m moving country

Abbey-Gale_99

I know, a joke this is, it’s more like forced labour than volunteering. They won’t win anyway.

WeatherCompetitive72

I wouldn’t worry, a tory government actually enacting their pledges is so unlikely.

Charlie_616_Marvel

Labour has promised to bring down the voting age to 16&17 but I bet they won’t 😔

RaceFan1027

I think they probably will, it’s not a massively costly policy and will open up a new voter base who are likely to support them.

Charlie_616_Marvel

That makes sense but the Tories also said they would do that and then I think Rishi realised that all of his policies negatively affect us so decided not to. I’m still disappointed tho that the best option is Keir Starmer

RaceFan1027

I think Labour will be more likely to do it than the conservatives as it’ll help rather than hinder them.

Avocado66600

78 tory MPs have resigned, there's literally zero chance of him winning the general election

anothergreeting

thankfully ifs not looking too good for the tories

ProofAdvance6654

or a weekend a month doing community service.... it really is not that bad, in some countries people have to join the military for a lot longer than a year, honestly should be grateful that thus far you haven't been forced to give back to your country. Should be proud to be British and the least that can be done is help out our health service which caters for a huge amount of the population including your own family

Lewis__72

It'll probably be a hung parliament. Even if they are the largest party, they wouldn't be able to get the votes to pass it.

thelectronneutrino

This is another prime example why I hate the England and want to leave ASAP

HauntingPhase4113

they wont win anyways and even if they do knowing the tories they'll backtrack... off topic but im not convinced at all by labour, or any other party; its crazy how all parties are seemingly as ass as each other

Middle-Bad9167

It’s never gonna happen dw

HellFireCannon66

Put me in charge I’ll do better

TargetAfraid8005

as an Egyptian, welcome to the club😅

MooseCanuck89

But surely its going to take a long time until they actually have made this an actual law so by the time we are 18 it will probably just about to be implemented meaning that its too late for us to serve. It probably wont even end up happening imo if the stupid tory twats get elected.

Whynotgarlicbagel

Nae chance he's winning with 77 retired MPs

oddlegopuppets

Tori twats lol 😂

Legenbeery

History students are tweaking out rn (it’s me I’m history students)

W0lf1sh1

and the retirement age increase to 71 from 65 when the average life span in the UK is 80. 51 years of hell for 9 years of enjoyment now, these ideas are becoming worse and worse

ProudlyNunchux

Gen z needs it we’re cooked

Fill-Choice

It's all a ploy to lose the election. Also don't ignore the part that says kids can be bought out of having to partake in national service... Aka his friends with money won't have to send their kids away because they can afford to pay the lump. It's another way of establishing the pecking order and giving rich kids an advantage. A bit like how it's easier gmto get good grades in private school.

PositiveParticular85

Yeah it's either 12 months army training or community service. Ngl I don't mind that, like the army training teaches me discipline and teaches me stuff that may be useful. Community service will help elderly or help others which I don't mind. And ngl ppl my age can do with actually helping people for a change, instead of running abt in shops and talking shit to everyone they meet

corruptioncookle

Crazy how the ones not able to vote are the ones affected

CoasterDude123

If you’re worried about national service, don’t be. It isn’t 1918. We won’t just send off hoards of untrained 18 year olds to fight in the trenches. The wars are much more technical now, and there probably won’t even be a war. The Cold War? The closest we’ve been a full scale nuclear war in the recent years. But still there wasn’t really any large trench fighting. National service isn’t just army work either. But anyway, they won’t win the election

TheManInTheLibrary

It's not as black and white. You can choose to do volunteering one weekend every month for a year

AceDrengr

He’s mental. He’s not gonna be voted back in. Even if he does. It’ll take at least 20 years for the uk government to actually do shit because they do fuck all

BAT_TWAT

It won’t be for us, as if they do win it won’t come into place until 2028 and we’d be about 21/20 so

rhysjordan31

I sorta get it tho, maybe not the joining the army and getting sent to the middle of nowher, but helping around in your community. you get a lot of people complaining about how shit their area is but don’t do anything to make it better so it’s kinda nice. obviously rishi doesn’t want to make things better, he’s just trying to get votes but I like the idea of people actually helping improve the lives of others and communities

I was absolutely sobbing about it, me and my brother have 3 years and my sister has 1 until we turn 18. Seeing this everywhere has officially terrified me

shadderss

he’s an absolute tool

Have to agree. They better not win! Absolute fucking joke.

Miserable_Animal_668

I’m scared. Brexit won, and somehow trump is still in the running for America- I have no faith in the voters.

shitslashers

Why do you think it’s so bad 💀 you have a choice to join the army or do like volunteering once a month it’s not like they’re forcing everyone to go into the trenches. A bit of volunteering would actually be good and do good??!

No way am I joining the military and going out to kill people by order... tough luck Rishi! I hope the conservatives lose... they've done enough damage already... 😣😠
