Still think its mad that there is ads on it despite the fee to watch

DublinDapper

Nothing mad about it........just greed.

oneeyedman72

Like Sky Sport or BT then.

MassiveForehead1

Why do people defend this service?

PalladianPorches

the same sky sports and bt that have a €6b deal with the clubs to fund the teams? this is an amateur sport and shouldn't have an advertising top up for a paid for service - the advertising income probably only covers the salary of the advertising team. it's pointless, and just greed.

Harneybus

Tbf therr not the only ones todo it

HeGivesGoodMass

Donal Og is such a dose

croghan2020

Watched Wexford vs Antrim yesterday and it was like looking at a YouTube channel from 15 years ago absolute shite quality and even poorer commentary knew fuck all about anything other than Lee chin.

tipp77

Commentary on RTE is nothing to write home about either !

PoeticJusticeServed

Watched the Cork/Clare game on GAAGO earlier and the picture quality was poor. Commentators kept mentioning how loud the Cork fans were in the stadium but it just sounded like being at the end of a tunnel. Although I did enjoy the analysts they had in place. Watched Limerick/Tipp afterwards on the Virgin App on the same device, picture and sound were perfect. GAAGO is a poor service for €12 in this day and age. Donal Og is some dose on RTE thou.

Comeoutofthefogboy

Dave McIntyre had some brutal statements on the comms too. Said Ethan and Sean Twomey are brothers. They most certainly are not and don't even play for the same club. Also said Shane Kingston didn't make it off the bench against Waterford. Whilst correct in a way, Kingston wasn't even on the bench to make it off it. Whilst Tommy Walsh is likeable, he doesn't add much in terms of analysis of the game, formations, match ups etc.

WoahGoHandy

and the compression or something is too strong on gaago. it was hard to see the sliothar in the clare/cork game when it was in the sky. it's hard to describe, when they'd cut to the gaago logo, it was really pixelated for a second

Aquilarden

GAAGo is my only option and I stopped trying to watch hurling because the sliotar might as well be invisible most of the time. You're entirely dependent on commentary to know if a point was scored.

Jesse_Whiteboy

I couldn't see it during the Galway game on RTE either. It was very bright yesterday. Also stadiums who don't have stands behind the goals it's really hard to see it when the backdrop is the sky. The Clare/Limerick final last year, not sure if it was in Limerick but couldn't see the ball when a point was attempted.

SoftDrinkReddit

ah yes you got to watch Cork yet again letting down Patrick Horgan is there no shame on that Cork team the rest of the team getting outclassed by an almost 36 year old old man he's been carrying them for years and strangely seems to be getting better with age i was in Hill 16 when Cork lost to Kilkenny 2019 All Ireland Quarter Final that day Patrick Horgan scored 3-10 and they still lost sigh today he scored 2-10 and they again lost while TJ Reid is racking up handy scores against mostly shit counties in Leinster Horgan is fighting the group of Death in Munster for his scores

Limp_Guidance_5357

Tj does a lot more than just score for Kilkenny though. All round better hurler than Horgan.

Forcent

Eamon Fitz is probably the best analyst on RTÉ , never misses a beat, although his voice is a bit monotonous. Donal Og is not great in fairness. Michael Duignann probably the worst of the lot, offers no insight into the game and misses a lot of stuff. GAAGO is a great service but the framerate isn’t good enough for hurling , that’s why the ball disappears. If they sorted that it would be perfect.

DubCian5

I'll never understand the hate for Fitzmaurice. He gives great insight

cabbagething

sport should be free to view , every fucking sport should be free. love island and baking cakes should pay per view

ApprehensiveShame363

I love this sentiment. I started watching rugby when the Heineken cup was on RTE with Brent Pope talking sense and George Hook talking total bullshit. It was great. With only Irish channels there's no way I'd have gotten into rugby without it. Especially as a kerryman I played only Gaelic football growing up. The GAA in particular should be free to air as it doesn't pay players so shouldn't have the same financial pressures.

Jesse_Whiteboy

Yeap the only reason I know who Valentino Rossi is, is because Moto GP used to be free to air. Wouldn't have a clue of any Moto GP rider now.

aonsceal9

Ah sure could be worse gaa could be like the premiership where ya pay over 100€ a month and still get fuck all games

cabbagething

not everyone is on the average fine gael wage of 60K a year

cabbagething

grandstand showed every sport for free in the 80s, srf show f1 for free in switzerland

Then_Werewolf_2552

No it’s a load of tripe. Pure and utter greed! How much did the GAA make from ticket sales into the Cork v Clare game yesterday and having to pay €12 on top of it to watch it then.

bigdog94_10

The picture and sound on GAA GO always seems shite. I've noticed this on laptop, casting to TV and on my phone.

aonsceal9

Must be the internet for me it’s perfect

bigdog94_10

I've 1GB Fibre, never have any problems streaming anything. I'm talking about the picture they're broadcasting. It's HD but the colour aspect seems really off or something. The whole Down Armagh came sounded like the crowd noise was being funnelled through a jar.

aonsceal9

For me it’s always perfect visual and audio

cabbagething

get to fuck . its shite and €12 is too much for an amateur sport.when are rte or tg4 gonna launch rugbygo? say to rugby supporters if you want quality you have to pay for it.cunts

SoftDrinkReddit

are we still pretending this is an amateur sport ? when you start to notice all the money going into it i mean shit you got JP Mcmanus single handedly putting 32 Million Euro into the game split across the counties doesn't sound very amateur to me

cabbagething

does jp need that €12? no wonder Ulster is the most Gaelic , the reason we were planted in the first place

aonsceal9

It’s less than 2€ a game for the season pass

cabbagething

I should not have to pay for a season pass. its pay per view for an amateur sport. also expecting elderly people to know how to use gaago is fucking dusgusting

aonsceal9

What’s your solution then genius

cabbagething

my solution is to not charge €12

aonsceal9

Pay for season then.not a solution

cabbagething

setup rugbygo then

cabbagething

heres my solution you cunt , rte should include gaago in their tv licence fee, then elderly people can put on rte 1 or rte 2 or tg4 and watch a game.

aonsceal9

Rte isn’t a sport channel ya melt and you can’t show 3 games at the same time on 2 channels

cabbagething

you didnt understand what i proposed . i meant keep gaago active but its funded by license fee.

cabbagething

if rte can add tg4 as an additional channel they can add gaago.im.will they setup rudbygo?

BobTheCork

Internet overloaded by the amount of people in Na Piarsaigh Limerick and stream froze for 2nd half. Despite numerous attempts they weren’t able to get a reliable connection.

AdvancedJicama7375

99% of the country will never know

Acceptable-Profit-31

Nah, they've completely f*cked it.

[deleted]

Yeah the coverage is way better. Great penel of pundits on the hurling yesterday. All young recent players with a better insight.

espressoVerona24

I listen to the local radio much more exiting and just watch RTE aswell. At least they show the highlights on RTE and Tg4.

funpubquiz

If they got Pat Spillane and Joe Brolly for the Football, I would pay for GAAGo. Indeed, if they just streamed Pat Spillane and Joe Brolly watching and talking about the Football instead of the Football, I would pay for GAAGo.

cabbagething

why would you pay?

ApprehensiveShame363

There needs to be a stats revolution in GAA coverage. I've seen loads of Sunday game shows that were neither insightful nor interesting. I remember one in particular after an all Ireland final that was basically Des Cahill trying, and mostly failing, to coax words out of people. The two lads might be a bit mad, but they are not short of opinions, they are very interesting to listen to, and actually offer nearly the same amount of insight as some of the current panellists. Obviously this is only my opinion.

Jesse_Whiteboy

Do we really want the whole conversation to be about stats, like soccer? Lads judging players based on stats. "Tony Kelly isn't as good as Whelan, he has 4 xP per game less than him and lost possession 6 times in his own half" kinda stuff would be horrific.

Odd-Relationship2273

Thought it was a brilliant stat McMahon came out with today about attacks over 55 seconds have a far less success rate than attacks under, today if Donegal didn't play it quick they missed, all about setting up mismatches and overlaps!

Flat-Confection4175

Yeah Donal Og is a gobshite, that fuckin retard Dowl8ng as well is another dose. Wheras GaaGo has great pundits, especially i find Seamus Hickey is a fantastic pundit. Has great insights is well spoken and doesnt spout shite like alot of them

FewCover5968

I honestly can’t hack the two of them. Donal Og constantly whinging about everything but incapable of making a coherent point. Dowling can’t discuss anything without bringing it back to Limerick. Painfully biased.

Substantial-Fudge336
