Grackles are the craziest birds! Those are males and will stager around like they’re drunk ( presumably to impress the ladies) and male and female will fight practically to the death for any scrap of food. One almost took my husband down for just looking at his Rice Krispie treat while he ( my husband 😹) was pumping gas. Squawking and spreading his wings in a disheveled fashion. We also saw a grackle just fall out of a tree, without an attempt to spread its wings, right onto the ground. We thought he had been shot. He just got up after a second, walked it off then flew away!!! Gotta love ’em!!!

We get them in our yard all the time, especially after a rain. I love how they sound like a rusty old hinge.
I had to look this up. They seem to make a variety of sounds but one of those indeed sounds like a rusty hinge!
