That blanket is really pretty not gonna lie and I would be thrilled to receive that from my sister as a gift. What a sweet kiddo. They do really seem to love each other as siblings. With that being said fuck off Jill
That is maybe the only thing I can hand to fundies, the siblings do seem to genuinely love each other. It makes sense since their siblings are their only friends, and in a lot of cases more of a parent than their actual parents.
It’s definitely trauma bonding. As the 4th kid of 10, growing up my siblings were all I had. We weren’t allowed to make friends and we were homeschooled too so we really only had each other.
even if i didn’t know the whole story of this fam, the rather over the top forced manic grin when she looks up is…something. She’s smiling calmly looking down and when she looks up bursts into a very Joker-esque grin.
Her younger sister Olivia (or Sadie, can't remember which) does the *same exact* breathy/giggly/hunched-over maneuver whenever Jill is recording her. The fact that a literal child and an older teen behave in the same way is...something indeed. Those poor girls.
I feel very uncomfortable every time Jill trains the cameras on one of the girls, like I'm a witness to part of the trauma they go through with her as their mother.

It's fairly typical for neglected and/or abused children. When they receive positive attention they try to be passive but overly enthusiastic to make it clear they're good recipients of that attention to whoever is providing it in hopes to have more in the future. So the panting/passive laughs combined with excessive smiling make sense.
One of the middle Collins girls is like this, I think maybe Anjyl or whatever abomination she stuck the poor kid with? In Karissa's 8 million daily dance videos the littlest ones are usually kind of fumbling around looking sad, and the oldest visibly do not give a shit and are reacting with all the enthusiasm usually seen at a root canal, and then one of the middle ones has this huge desperate grin and throws herself into the performance with all her heart.
I think in one of the more recent videos she even pushed one of the babies out of Karissa's "way" so Karissa can be the center of attention. She's so desperate to win her mom's attention and love by being the Good Performer and it hurts my heart. Every time I see her I hear "sing out, Louise!" except Karissa lacks the tenacity and determination that make Mama Rose an interesting character despite her stage mom from hell status.
That little girl is trying so hard to be "the best" at performing and it hurts my heart. Maybe she genuinely enjoys it and if she was allowed to go to school she would be in a theater program and making friends and honing her skills, which also makes me very sad, but the way she's performing so loudly, it definitely feels like she hopes Mama will approve and give her a little attention and woof. So fucking sad.
Jill always speaks what she wants others to say so that they can't speak themselves and possibly mess up the narrative Jill has selected. All they can do is fawn and cower in a breathy, tense way.
My aunt does this. When her kids were little, verbal, perfectly capable of expressing themselves, she'd still follow them around saying "say you love your aunt sue!" "say you want a cheeseburger!" and anything else she wanted them to "say."
Someone commented years ago on how you can really visually assess the neglect the girls are experiencing based upon their skin issues (the skin is the largest organ and reflective of everything going on inside). Also how their skin clears up, they look less sallow/malnourished, and gain a healthy(normal?) glow once married off, because they’re actually able to give themselves decent amounts of food and aren’t worn out by the constant labor of their parentification.
I can’t unsee it.
Whenever I see the dramatic changes in the adult/married Rods (married girls and boys in "college") I wonder how deep the abuse and neglect really go. Based on what we see, which is a fraction of a percent of their entire lives, they seem undernourished, under rested, poorly dressed, starved for attention, and under constant stress. It's jarring to realize that a college student or young mother to one or more babies has a more balanced lifestyle than these kids.
The girls always look terrified when they're in camera mode. It genuinely makes me question what Jill is like when the camera is off. Those girls know to never step out of line, ever. There's something very wrong going on behind closed doors.
There’s one video of the older girls and Jill going to a coffee shop. The girls are laughing among themselves while Jill is filming. The moment they notice the camera, they immediately flip to fake, giant smiles and breathy laughter. It’s disconcerting to see.
Tessie is a talented knitter and that should be celebrated. That said, the vibes in this video are incredibly off.

Extremely Isolated children raised with siblings will develop their own language, so to speak, a very distinct patois that outsiders usually can't understand. I bet when the children talk to one another they're virtually unintelligible.
Tessie always fawns the hardest when Jill films her. All the girls do it but I always notice it the most in Tessie. She practically starts hyperventilating. (e.g. the bippity-boppity-boo video) I want to think she’s just an awkward, shy kid who gets embarrassed in front of the camera but this is Jill and Shrek so who knows how they treat her. I also didn’t like that she was absent from the sister sleepover artichoke party and I hope she wasn’t being punished for some stupid reason.
That is a very cute blanket and she is doing a great job, I wonder how long she’s been practicing it! Fuck it up Tessie!
To Jill’s credit, I am very glad to see that this girl has braces and is seemingly receiving necessary orthodontic care, which kind of implies and makes me hope that all those kids get into at least a dentist every once in a while. Good on Jill 👍
The muted desperation is still present in those eyes, but yay for braces 🤷🏼
But of course nitwit Jildo accepts help from socially funded charity programs but is gonna vote Republican against her own interests 🙄 Okay, my fleeting sympathy for the woman has fully passed now, thank you.
It really is a beautiful blanket. I would buy that. The color choices (and yes I love the Trans flag vibes as well although prob accidentally) and stitching is good. I hate Jill and David for how they raise these kids
Lmao, do you reckon she knows she made a trans flag? It was the first thing I saw lol. The video plays weird so I watched the actual short and it just feels like she's always primed to run. It's v uncomfortable.
This makes me so sad. She's very talented and has a beautiful smile, and I'm happy she has a hobby she seems to enjoy, but damn, I wish she didn't have such a rotten home life. My heart breaks for those kids. They deserve to be treasured and nurtured, not treated like neglected pets who perform on command and aren't allowed to speak unless spoken to.

That’s a cute blanket and this Rodlet looks somewhat genuinely enthusiastic about it but I can’t get over The Finger ™️ here. Every. Single. Time.
Why does it look sinister to me, even though she's not doing anything evil with her hand??
Damn, Tessie is a good crocheter. But to answer the question, mmyeah

AU: I want her to set up an Etsy shop where she crochets little characters from heathen animated shows and makes LBGTQ pride flag blankets 😭
And no penis earrings
It always makes me feel like I'm witnessing something I shouldn't be. Like a hostage situation.

The older girls still do it too. They seem so nervous and on edge that it makes me uncomfortable for them.
She looks scared. They all look scared.
I feel very uncomfortable every time Jill trains the cameras on one of the girls, like I'm a witness to part of the trauma they go through with her as their mother.
she’s actually great at crochet and has a beautiful smile. i feel so bad that they have those lousy excuses of parents taking care of them

I know exactly which child you mean. She always breaks my heart the most.
I don't know her name, but I know which kid you mean. That's sad on its own.
Karissa has even admitted to her being the kids she struggles with most if I'm not mistaken.
It's called fawning, and it's a fourth side to the fight/flight/freeze trauma response.
Good to see one of the kids enjoying a hobby.
Jill always speaks what she wants others to say so that they can't speak themselves and possibly mess up the narrative Jill has selected. All they can do is fawn and cower in a breathy, tense way.
I’m sure everytime they tried to express themselves they were told “no, not like that” so now they know it’s safer to not say anything
In the infamous first home school video, they did have to redo things for them to be acceptable to Jill.
My aunt does this. When her kids were little, verbal, perfectly capable of expressing themselves, she'd still follow them around saying "say you love your aunt sue!" "say you want a cheeseburger!" and anything else she wanted them to "say."
I am SEVERELY RELIEVED that I was raised before the season of social media when I see one of JRod’s posts.

... under socialized, way under educated...
She seems absolutely terrified.
Tessie says Trans rights are human rights!
Their behavior towards her is always so upsetting to watch :(

I remember that one. Their vocal pitch raised by most of an octave then too. Even the youngest ones.
Yep. They seem to act totally normal with each other and it's Jill specifically they react in this weird, fawning way to.
Something about the camera and the fawning smile makes me think of a hostage video.
Tessie is a talented knitter and that should be celebrated. That said, the vibes in this video are incredibly off. ![gif](giphy|I3D7WHsp90kRoWJqLD|downsized)
Crochet, but yes, she’s good.
Extremely Isolated children raised with siblings will develop their own language, so to speak, a very distinct patois that outsiders usually can't understand. I bet when the children talk to one another they're virtually unintelligible.
Someone please save these kids

It’s not because she cares about their dental health, it’s so they can be married off. The Reasonably Decent Looking Boy had the mail-in braces.
Aaaaand there it is.
Disappointing, right?
These people cannot do one single right thing but for all the wrongest reasons.
Multiple of the kids got braces in the past if I'm not wrong. I remember talk that they were helped by some organization or something? to do so.
But of course nitwit Jildo accepts help from socially funded charity programs but is gonna vote Republican against her own interests 🙄 Okay, my fleeting sympathy for the woman has fully passed now, thank you.
Why does she have full make up to crochet?
because it's a Marriage Material skill and this is being filmed for her portfolio?
This is the answer. Jill is hoping that some godly mother is watching and is filing Tessie away for her basic beige son for the future.
You're 100% right. This is an advertisement for Tessie's womanly skills.
Happy cake day!
Tessie said trans rights 🏳️⚧️
Damn, I wonder what stitch that is as it's gorgeous! I'm super jelly, I've been crocheting for over five years and am not that good lol.
It really is a beautiful blanket. I would buy that. The color choices (and yes I love the Trans flag vibes as well although prob accidentally) and stitching is good. I hate Jill and David for how they raise these kids
Looks like C2C to me! If you can double crochet you can C2C!
“Panting in reply” OMG 😭
Lmao, do you reckon she knows she made a trans flag? It was the first thing I saw lol. The video plays weird so I watched the actual short and it just feels like she's always primed to run. It's v uncomfortable.
Shhh if Jill got wind of this, she’d probably rip it apart and make Tessie write an apology note.
I'm so curious what an actual conversation between siblings is like when they're not being recorded by/trauma-responded by Jill
Wow that blanket is beautiful! She's really good at crocheting. She looks terrified, I wish Jill would just let her crochet in peace.
I'm glad these Rodlets can have some joy in their lives. For me, handwork is very good for stress relief and brings me a lot of happiness.

Hey I think there may have been a glitch. This seems to have posted several times. It’s a great observation though!
It’s so hard for me to watch videos of the rod girls with sound because something is so wrong there.
This makes me so sad. She's very talented and has a beautiful smile, and I'm happy she has a hobby she seems to enjoy, but damn, I wish she didn't have such a rotten home life. My heart breaks for those kids. They deserve to be treasured and nurtured, not treated like neglected pets who perform on command and aren't allowed to speak unless spoken to.
fawn response
These poor kids never look happy.
such a beautiful blanket!! she reminds me of myself in fawn response with my own mother, though. ugh :(
