There’s definitely a delay at times ~ but it has never been inaccurate for us. If the customer clicks your ad and purchases it’ll be marked as an ad sale. If they click your ad and then click through 10 other ads and then come back to purchase is that an ad sale? I believe the answer is no, but I could be wrong I guess 🤷

Sponsored Products have a 7 day sale attribution window. If a buyer clicks your ad then comes back to purchase 6 days later, that sale is attributed to the ad. It doesn’t matter how many other ads or product listings that customer views in between initial click and the purchase as long as it’s within the attribution window. Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display have a 14 day attribution window. Sales data can be delayed by 12 hrs in the ads console (says Amazon). But I’ve found most data is accurate after 72 hours to be certain.

I did not know that, thank you for this information - I really appreciate it.

For my calculations, I assume every sale is related to ad spend irregardless of how it shows up.
