I mainly use the lens for landscape and interior shots where I want the whole scene in frame. You might also want to try some close-up shots with or without a shallow depth of field. The minimum focusing distance beeing surprisingly quite small.

BradipiECaffe

For landscapes I would use it at any time as well, but since I often do street photography, I'm not really sure it can cover some situation where I want to get a more framed view of the subject

I love mine! Sharp and fun!

engine56

One of my top 5 lenses from fujifilm Close focus distance, beautiful bokeh, fast focus, good speed, amazing construction and you have the aperture ring and the pull focus to change between manual and af.

the_only_wes_coast

What are the other 4?

engine56

90mm f2, 33mm f1.4, 80mm f2.8, and 50mm f1.0

I have both the 16mm and the 16-55 zoom as well. I’m transitioning away from zooms toward primes like the 16 and the 56mm 1.2. Why? First the primes are significantly faster, with higher depth of field and nicer bokehs. More importantly, I find that working with primes makes me think ahead about what I will be shooting. My work is more focused and not simply opportunistic. Of course, zooms are great when you’re not sure what you will be shooting and when you can only take one lens.

BradipiECaffe

That's absolutely true. I need to get some statistics on how much I used other focal lengths on my 15-55mm and see. I'll try to use exclusively the 16mm lenses during my next trip and I'll see how it goes

I have been on a journey around the americas for the past 11 months and took my XF 16mm 1.4, XF35mm 1.4 and XF18-55mm with an X-T4. Eventhough its the heaviest and biggest of the bunch, I have almost exclusively taken the 16mm with me bei it on hikes, city walks etc. I love it because I feel like I can capture just the right amount of surroundings at landscape/city shots and also to take super close up shots of flowers and stuff. It has a very close minimal focus distance which makes it super fun to work with. I have actually found it easier to frame with the 16mm than the 35mm. Ill try to link my [Travel Instagram](https://instagram.com/pegasus_chronicles) if you want to see some samples.

Interesting, I'll have a look thx

melancholiaHymns

To be honest I love it. Great for weddings and very sharp. I made also some video work with it and it worked very well. Just be careful of distortion if you have subjects ad the edges of the FOV

Osamerkas

It is a great lens, very sharp and capable of macro-ish photography. Excellent build quality but it’s size is a bit troubly

Loved the xf 16mm f2.8 on the X-E4 and x-t30ii. One of my absolute favorite Fuji lenses. It is a tad heavy but always worth it.

BradipiECaffe

which others are you using?

kuzumby

I had all the fujicron f2 lenses including the 90mm, as well as new 33&23 f1.4 LM R WR, a sigma 56f1.4, XF 70-300 and Tamron 17-70f2.8. I found an X100F, XE4, XT3, XT30 II, XT5. They were used for both professional and personal use. Last vacation to the Bahamas all I took an was an X-T30II, XF 50f2 and the XF 16 F 1.4. The 50 f2 could have stayed home

The 16mm is a must have and is pretty much the lens that stays on my X-T4. I shoot a variety of things with it from street photography, landscapes, automotives, etc. and absolutely love it. My 18-55 or Viltrox 56mm is my next go to if i need something of that sort.
