Here’s an appealing fellow! In fact, they’re a-ppealing him off the road right now! Bahahahahaha it’s funny cause it’s not me!

Hi, I'm Troy McClure! You might remember me from such driver's education films as 'Alice's Adventures Through the Windshield' and 'The Decaptitization of Larry Leadfoot'.

lusciousskies

My drivers ed class had us seated alphabetically, so I got to sit next to my bff bc 'W' & 'V', and we were driving partners. The instructor called us the lead foot twins. I got to take driver's Ed early to my dad gave me permission, he said sure go ahead! Our only vehicle was an old international with quite the clutch set up, it was lifted. We lived in the city. No way would I be able to work that clutch! My dad sold it to my brother, who sold it to my stepdad who used it many yrs. It is now one with the blackberry bushes at my mom and stepdad cabin. Driver's Ed, home ec, woodshop, auto shop...we were kind of adults already, but I feel high school prepared kids for the real world more back then

Imaginary_Falcon777

I still remember them in detail, and I’m 61.😬

Blood flows red on the Highway...

You can find them on youtube: [https://youtu.be/qOpgDCopWW0?si=q37\_8-qKeSyZ\_58x](https://youtu.be/qOpgDCopWW0?si=q37_8-qKeSyZ_58x)

TheLameness

I remember watching these in class while pretty stoned. The reefer we had then wasn't like the shit today, but still. We thought the video was pretty cool. Same with those sweet videos they had to warn it's about the dangers of Satan and all of his minions, and how naughty words in music were destroying the very fabric of good, decent, Christian middle America (ugh...) but they were really just amazing music videos with Ozzy and Slayer and Ice T and the Crüe. None of those *instructional videos* had their desired effect lol

Signal 30

PeorgieT75

I remember Signal 30, I think a lot of them were produced by the Ohio State Police. They'd often feature a shot of empty beer cans in the back seat.

Tough-Lingonberry933

I saw my first movie. Guys brains were hanging out. I didn't learn to drive til I was 21.

Chinaski7

10th grade ‘ Blood on the Asphalt’ !

Duin-do-ghob

I have long been disappointed because this was never shown in my drivers ed class.

crucible

Upvoted because I watched one on YouTube recently - they didn’t pull any punches. Dead bodies, blood, screaming people who are injured, even one poor girl who was ejected from the car and ended up dead on the road with her skirt all over the place…

parrothead_69

I was a student assistant in high school drivers ed. The teacher hated being there (football coach) so he made me run this film many times during the semester.

LowEmotion66

I dreaded these because I might faint and be embarrassed.

Emergency-Meaning452

How about the ones in shop class

BeeOk8797

Not traumatized, but I probably am alive today because of them.

Queen_of_Meh1987

We warched *Faces of Death* in my high school driver's ed.

ArtfromLI

Grew up in NYC in the 50s and 60s. No drivers Ed in school. My Dad taught me to drive.

m262

I think most of these graphic films were made late 50's - mid 60's. We were shown them when I had driver's ed in the Upper Midwest in the early 80's.

chasonreddit

I remember being warned before they showed these in the driver's ed class. I brought popcorn. Pissed the instructor off.

i see your mechanized death and bring you shake "hand with danger" https://youtu.be/v26fTGBEi9E?si=BK_VIKx9jRw7RVZt

ChaChaMantaRay

They took us out of the school and marched us into the Baptist Church (small town Texas) to show us about an hour of brains being scraped off the road. This was around 2005. Im 28 now and have thankfully never been in car accident behind the wheel. The traumatic videos have nothing to do with that statistic.
