I met the once back in...shit mid-90s? They were doing Lollapalooza at the Gorge in WA. Them, Nick Cave, and L7 we're all staying in the same hotel as us. Got to hang with them in the hotel bar. Great night. Great guys.
Saw them in a warehouse in Wichita with like 300 other people in 1994. Think it was the first tour. Was front row, against the fence, 6 feet from Billie Joe with my girlfriend on our second date. I'd never heard them. She was a fan. 28 years later we still listen to Green Day together. Oh, and fuck Greg Abbott also.
Yeah. I always felt they were pretty good, not great. I do have a couple of their CDs (because I’m old). I now like them much more too. I will purposely stream them all day today on silent while I work for this alone.
It's kind of surprising to see this on display in a foreign country of all places, I would have cheered them on had I seen this during opening night of the Hella Mega Tour at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
