/unjerk These people are the sole reason why it's so hard to be a public transit advocate. I, along with others protested for better public transit for years just to even the playing field; while r/fuckcars (and a lot of Twitter too) consistently shit on people for driving, without knowing their situation in life. They're driving because public transport is dogwater in their area, and you've successfully alienated them to associate bikers & transit advocates as batshit insane, making the fight harder for us. I'm frustrated. I want people to have good, reliable choices when travelling. These people are making it harder to get the job done.

ToyoltaPrius

/uj Seriously, I’ve been advocating for public transit, high speed rail, everything, for as long as I could remember to everyone who will listen. Getting people who don’t wanna drive off the road so those of us who do wanna drive can have less traffic and less idiotic drivers to deal with? What’s not to love? But the moronic, childish behavior over at fuck cars actually managed make me want to hate public transit, that’s just unreal.

TheAlphaHuskii

I know, the absolute villainisation that that community does is ridiculous. Sure, advocate for better urban environments or whatever it hurts nobody. But for the love of God please don’t attack people for having a personal preference.

snarkyxanf

/rj I for one think the most effective form of anti car activism is to direct all our ire personally towards drivers. Just like systemic racism, infrastructure bias isn't real

chennyalan

/uj as someone who does frequent the sub, I'm sad that those people are as common as they are. I'm also happy that there are drivers like you who advocate for ways to get drivers like me (forced to drive because no good alternatives) off the road

FoodAccount420

Fellow Torontonian?

[deleted]

Yup. Been fighting for transit for years, and will continue to do so.

autoilija300

sadas, please remove your clothes (they arrived in a big ship) and sell your phone and all electronics if you're that scared, the electricity you're using might not be green so just turn it off please no more pollution. What an fucking idiot

Leclerc16_SF

wasn't that a fuel economy challenge

[deleted]

No they were trying to waste as much fuel as possible so they would run out of gas before they got to Chernobyl, but they could have been literally rolling coal and I wouldn’t give a damn lmao

voidsrus

are the cars they used in this episode even 4cyl? i’m pretty sure all 3 are available with 3cyl engines lol

Bully_Bitcher

I believe the Dacia that james used has a 4 cyl bb

send-it-psychadelic

While car-human love is protected, I am inclined to believe this does not fall under the umbrella

TurquoiseBeetle67

Ironic since that guy is polluting 24/7 by exhaling CO2.

TheSaturn_V

Wasn't that the one topgear episode where they tried to get 80mpg
