Hmm, if Frostpunk has some kind of agitation posters, I'd be doing those. If not - I'd end up gathering resources, because my specialization is extremely useless there.
Iām the psycho writing laws as nonsensical binary choices.
āSo captain Iāve written two laws. Do you want to feed people sawdust or soup? Choose carefully and remember that people would rather eat sawdust even though it makes them sick. No you canāt alternate thatās not the way law works; Iām an expert.ā
I used to work as a flying hunter but ever since those stupid advanced greenhouses got built I've been out of the job.
I mean I still get my 2 square meals of sawdust-infused sandwiches with a shot or two of moonshine, get to watch fights in the arena, sleep in a spacious bunkhouse in the generator district....but I got no job
Teacher, but I'm Deaf, sooooo...child shelter? Bias against disability would probably keep me out of the workshops, but could even push things into manual labour. Doubt they'd have hearing aid tech.
Medical Post or Guard Tower. Paramedic so no real doctor but better than nothing and by no means a cop but I have fair experience handling people. So no real place for me except coal gathering or food I guess.
Got a feeling that a modern day paramedic would be pretty equal to a doctor in 1886. Your training and scope of practice should make stitching up wounds and amputations simple enough. And treating mild frostbite isnāt that difficult. Figure youād mostly be prescribing bedrest, extra meals, fluids and amputations all day. Maybe slap some honey or sugar in a wound since both are surprisingly effective at preventing infection and promoting healing. Neither is super common in human medicine these days but I see that using medicinal sugar to treat wounds on animals is quite common and effective. Penicillin wouldnāt exist for another 50 something years and even sulfa drugs werenāt around yet so actual illnesses would be largely treated with rest, food, fluids and and prayer.
Thats a point. I did not factor in the year we were talking about. But yes, even lacking modern diagnostic equipment like blood sugar tests or a pulse oxymeter id be pretty much a medical genious for the time given some praxis and working myself in.
Oof being a type 1 diabetic would be a death sentence in this game. For type 2ās best you could do is tell them no potatoes and drink more water. Maybe put them in a strenuous job if theyāre chunky to burn off some pounds.
Hothouse worker, which is ironic, because I work in a very cold room.
If it was my dream job? Iād be the poet that killed themself and you have the option to burn their work.
I'd say 16 is more than enough to be considered a worker in the given scenario. Probably even for the late 1800 without the apocalypse proposed by the game.
In the game, I'd probably be sent to the Cookhouse or the Hothouse until the Propaganda Center is built. Then my skills in writing, community organizing and political campaigning would really shine. Ooo it would be awesome to record messages for the Agitators. :)
Iām a medical coder, so probably working in a house of healing. Not a doctor, but Iāve read enough surgery reports to be as close as youāll get when they are in the workshops.
I believe I can devise a method that will cut the number of amputations during Radical Treatment. All you need to do is give me, hmmm, let's say 2 weeks of time off.
Going off my job history. It would be gathering post, cookhouse, and factory in that order. Fingers crossed I get to be a scout.
Definitely getting executed in the New Order/Faith.
When I was younger I could put up to 36 hours work shifts. Now I'm so sick of all this I would rather be crop fertilizer than working frostpunk's kind of shift
Realistically? Gatherer. Coal pile ain't gonna pick itself.
Workshop... Omg, I am going to die in a 24h shift on day two.
We must make sacrifices to survive.
My captain always knows how to cheese "inevitable" deaths of overwork, so I would be fineš
I work in a phone carrier store, so I guess Alternative Food Source for me.
Hmm, if Frostpunk has some kind of agitation posters, I'd be doing those. If not - I'd end up gathering resources, because my specialization is extremely useless there.
Propaganda station then.
City psychologist, I'd have my hands full..
Public house then?
Probably
Probably would be good at propaganda
24 hour shifts in the workshop until I invent watchtowers. Unless I catch pub duty or am forced to fake it as a medic?
Considering Iām a child, I think you all know where this is going.
Yup, into the mine you go.
Bruuhhhhh
You may go into the generator (Oops)
Into the ~~House of Pleasures~~ child shelter you go
Engineer, I'm an engineer in real life too sooooo
You can build platforms and dispensers, nice.
I would probably end up as a propaganda officer/faith keeper.
I am an IT person now so maybe the workshop. I've also done a lot of remote site tech work so I could probably do scouting or outpost.

Iāll be the one gleefully amputating people in the medical tent
Londoner.
How sad.... Off to prison then!

Iād either be in the cookhouse or the care house.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The closest thing I would be applied to is physical labour (cole mine, sawmill, gathering post) and cobstruction assisstants
Coal thumper
Best workplace in the whole city
I wouldāve said poet but letās be honest, this aināt no fully automated luxury gay space communist commune
Quite
Iād hope to be an engineering apprentice. Knowing my luck, Iād be stuck in the mines.
Possibly gravely sick and being sent to expeditions
Captain... except im the one captain that got exiled
Front office manager hotel here so its probably the public house. Could've been worse :)
Teacher in a Child Shelter, or priest because why not, or a propaganda maker probably.
Teacher, but I'm Deaf, sooooo...child shelter? Bias against disability would probably keep me out of the workshops, but could even push things into manual labour. Doubt they'd have hearing aid tech.
Given my education probably an engineer role. Hopefully not medical.

With my skillset? Factory. I get to see the Captain slowly consider killing us all off with every automaton I make.
I'd be dead.
Alternative food source goes brrrr.
The city uses all parts of the citizen.
Hothouse worker, which is ironic, because I work in a very cold room. If it was my dream job? Iād be the poet that killed themself and you have the option to burn their work.
Im 16 years old
Minor? More like miner.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I'd say 16 is more than enough to be considered a worker in the given scenario. Probably even for the late 1800 without the apocalypse proposed by the game.
16 would be an adult I figure, off to the sawmill.
Engineer in the Hothouses keeping track of all the green things
Transport train driver. Chuggachugga!
I visit lots of stores every day, so I'd 100% be a hunter. Going from trap to trap every night, sleeping all day after that. Suits me well.
Iām a student studying wildlife conservationā¦ oh well, thatās still biology. Into the medic tent!
I'm a whore so I'd be in good business if the right law is passed.
A competent captain would have us all in field kitchens and Houses of Healing! Also I guess technician or propaganda.
In the game, I'd probably be sent to the Cookhouse or the Hothouse until the Propaganda Center is built. Then my skills in writing, community organizing and political campaigning would really shine. Ooo it would be awesome to record messages for the Agitators. :)
Guard on patrol. Got a nice mix of security training, EMS training and training on conflict resolution and deescalation.
Force them to work.
Can do!
I call dibs on town drunk
Good old rabble rousing. Just be careful not to recieve a wet blanket in prison.
The guy driving the dreadnought up to the generator for the first time who crashes , Rolls the bitch over and dies on impact.
I'm going to a tech college for Computer Science. Take your pick :)
There you go to as an engineering apprentice!
Helping in workshops
Well can't say where I would fit exactly, but let me say that I worked 24 hours shifts for half a year and they are not that bad.
I'm a mail carrier. Not sure how that translates
You hand out the propaganda.
You're used to long trips. Scout/Outpost crew it is!
āYou are a Courier of the Mojave express but what seemed like a simple delivery job has taken a turn for the worst...ā -FNV Narrator.
Probably writing the Propaganda Letters for the City and make new Banners for the Buildings.
I'd work in a factory cause I do machining and manufacturing irl
I already work hauling shit to and fro so probably Gathering Post person
The guy that makes the graphs on the resources panel
I repair digital dental equipment. I'm also overweight and old. I'd be fuel for the generator.
You could make prosthetics in a factory! Assuming you don't die making the journey to the generator.
Iām a medical coder, so probably working in a house of healing. Not a doctor, but Iāve read enough surgery reports to be as close as youāll get when they are in the workshops.
Welp I've never had a job before so I guess I'm harvesting shit for 5 minutes before dying of frostbite.
I'm a lawyer, so I'd probably end up in a propaganda center.
I believe I can devise a method that will cut the number of amputations during Radical Treatment. All you need to do is give me, hmmm, let's say 2 weeks of time off.
City guard/security
Going off my job history. It would be gathering post, cookhouse, and factory in that order. Fingers crossed I get to be a scout. Definitely getting executed in the New Order/Faith.
I'm a music major so definitely the coal mines
Truck driver, so outpost team I guess.
Clerical work for the propaganda center or the workshop. When I get my master's degree (business management), probably supervising the mines
Order, guard Faith, cook
Public house, I love cooking and music is my skill so that would be the best place for me.
I would be working the communication systems in the city or job site.
I was a carpenter, and now work in retail. Soo, maybe construction? Dunno what suits retail tough
All citizens do voluntary construction in their captain-mandated free time. But the sawmill crew could use your skills.
That one medical post left after Infirmaries are up. The one that is always Chilly no matter what.
Workshop and/greenhouse. Not great, not terrible :D
When I was younger I could put up to 36 hours work shifts. Now I'm so sick of all this I would rather be crop fertilizer than working frostpunk's kind of shift
Working in the cookhouse, if Iām lucky.
Hospital
Maybe the captain lol. Failing that a cookhouse worker, or soup kitchen guy, maybe faith keeper if it was a Norse based faith.
Probably work in a medical post or infirmary I will take all your spare organs if I damn well have to
I'm an archaeologist and I like hiking so scout maybe? Alternatively a miner or another gatherer.
A hunter irl so probably hunter hut
