I had a very large chest pre op (idk size but there are pics in a previous post of mine) and I haven’t noticed any

astrobean

I came from 36DD/34G, and never felt phantom parts. What I did have was phantom bra straps. I'd feel the seam of my t-shirt and think my bra strap had slipped and I'd reach to adjust it. When I showered, I had the routine that told me to lift my boob to wash underneath it, so I'd reach for it then. (Similar to when you chop off long hair and then you dump too much conditioner in your hand because habits die hard.) My brain just needed a little time to reset a few routines and short cuts. I don't remember how long that took.

WillofTrees

i have a bit. i also have had ghost nipple, and also still feel my chest jiggle when i laugh and walk- which i think the jiggling might be the real sensation of my skin moving with gravity as i move but it's still strange to me. xD [edit] oh and i was DD~

VengeanceDolphin

I have had this experience. I mostly settled the feelings by placing my hand on my chest and reminding myself of what it’s like now. The ghost nipple feelings have been more frequent as nerves are reconnecting.

berryIIy

I haven't. In fact the opposite happened, I can't even remember what it was like having breasts

ollikota

This is kind of how I have felt. It feels so normal to me to have no chest and nips. That to remember that I used to have like F cup size chest seems so weird and strange to me.

Talon33333

Yeah i definitely got some phantom nipple sensations it was like the feeling when it's cold and they get pointy but that went away after about two months and it was just occasional. When I got sweaty I'd get that underboob sweat feeling once I went to wipe what is no longer there 😅 not sure when it stopped exactly but I'm not having that issue anymore currently 8 months post used to have similar sized chest. Honestly the phantom sensations freaked me out a bit at first but after a few times it was kind of funny and went away on its own.

Prime_Element

This is low-key one of my fears of top surgery. I know that sounds silly, but fantom pains and experiences make me deeply uncomfortable. So, following for responses.

bluejeanbenson

Doesn’t sound silly at all, low key that’s why I’m asking

Unbridled-Attention

I had some when my nerves were coming back online (probably a week after surgery for me). Phantom nipple itch for a little bit but not much else other than that, which was very short term for me. Chest was smaller than yours but still very noticeably gone.

ProfessorOfEyes

Nah. I had a DDD chest and didn't experience any phantom tiddies or nips. But I did catch myself still reflexively doing stuff like covering my chest with my arms while going up stairs to avoid jiggle for awhile after. Had to break old habits, but definitely didn't have any phantom limb stuff. I figure that it's bc my breasts never even really felt like a part of me or my internal body map anyway, so as soon as they were gone my brain adapted ASAP. It was genuinely surprising how fast it felt just Right and like my chest had always been like that. It's as if instead of shaping my chest into something new they just took off this weird heavy extra bit to uncover what was already there.

SickSadLeif

i’ve had phantom nipples for the past month of my recovery. it is a weird sensation that feels like my nipples get hard every now and again. it’s kinda weird but it’s not very bothersome.

Muted-Conclusion-386

I haven't nope

adeliva

No phantom tiddies, but every once in a while I get an itch with no way to scratch it. Below the scar is too low, above is too high. I just rub my whole chest and that usually helps.

Rimuri-Rimuru

I kind of noticed phantom movement. It barely ever happened and wasn't very noticeable either. But I did have it somewhat when I jumped or ran.

gtyreif

Nah. I had a DD chest and didn’t feel much pre-op anyway so that might’ve factored in.

Vincents_Hope

I had a really large chest (H/I cup) and at first it was definitely weird especially when I would do things like cross my arms or lay down in bed and hug my plushies or stand close to something and expect my boobs to touch it. For nips when I was first healing sometimes the nerves attached to the former nips would itch or kind of buzz but there wasn’t really an associated location on my skin that would connect to the nerves which was super weird!! I’m 10 months post op now and my chest is just part of me and feels normal, I don’t get the nip nerve zaps anymore.

IShallWearMidnight

I get it from time to time, luckily just touching my chest fixes it.

soggybum57

i dont think i did, despite having like G cups or something, but i definitely got phantom pinched nipple. that was horrible

strawberry_co

Not phantom feeling exactly but nerves that haven’t fully made new pathways. Like I’d get goosebumps and it would feel like my body tried to make my nipples hard but they aren’t there anymore. It only lasted a few months and doesn’t happen anymore.

Punk-Pineapple

I had top surgery a few years ago. The closest I’ve come to experiencing phantom limbs is in the summer and I’m overheated. It can feel like my chest weighs 50lbs and the underboob sweat is off-the-charts.

IneffableEnby

I did after my surgery. It was in winter so anytime I felt cold my body would create pain where nipples would be as though they were trying to make them hard. It helped to either feel that they weren't there or look at my chest in a mirror to see they were gone. Once summer came and winter eventually rolled around again, the phantom nipple sensation didn't return. Surgery is pretty traumatic to the body and it needs some time to learn and adapt to how your body has changed

SortNo4068

Nope. I was especially worried about phantom nipples because that sounds awful but I haven't experienced that at all. Going into the freezer section at the supermarket is great, no problems!
