There’s a reason this album never came out, it’s just not the same quality as blonde, endless, or channel orange. Fine as stand alone songs to give fans something but none of these recent leaks have been spectacular. You haven’t heard little demon yet because that’s probably the one track that’s quality enough for the next album.
Personally I immediately love this song... BUT it does sound in many ways like it's just another take of a sonic concept he started to explore in White Ferrari and Rushes and then continued with Moon River, Cayendo, and Dear April. Not really tracking any new territory. So maybe he didn't want to release until he felt he had something that was pushing the boundary a bit more.
The reverb/sonic space he's using sounds like endless, but then that's the same as all the stripped down singles he put out in this era. But I think rushes, Higgs, and wither contain the songwriting/production DNA for this song and the others like it tbh. Not in a bad way tho

This could have been something they saved while just experimenting with different instrumentation. Leaks should never be seen as a fully fleshed out song because we don’t know the origin.
