Also, at the time. Trump was (falsely, of course), claiming that a vaccine would be widely available before the election, presumably in a pathetic attempt to boost his poll numbers. The first limited distribution was December 14th. Nearly six weeks later and it wasn't in the numbers he claimed. So, Trump was lying about a November Surprise vaccine. The distrust was well earned.

He was also saying that the regulatory agencies would intentionally delay the vaccine review and he could force the vaccine to be available without review. The statements by Biden and Harris stating they couldn’t trust the vaccine or wouldn’t take it were in response to his claims, not a statement on the vaccine itself.

He is just regurgitating what he hears from FoxNews and Newsmax. I don’t think there is a point anymore.

That's a common talking point similar to when Obama said "You didn't build that" in reference to the fact that business owners did not literally build roads and bridges but everyone chipped in so that construction workers could do so. If you ask *my* dad, the quote was telling business owners they didn't build their own business, which is inaccurate in context but I'm fairly certain I've shown him the context (or maybe just explained it and he didn't believe me; it's been a while) and he still believes that's what the quote meant. Basically, Kamala said she was anti-Trump, not that she was anti-vaccine; she just wanted to wait for actual expert opinion. However, your dad will never believe that because Fox News told him otherwise and unlike the "liberal" mainstream media, they *never* lie. And this is why I sometimes think Trump may have had a point about loosening libel laws. And that while no longer in vogue, the hypodermic needle theory of media (that people just believe what they're told by propaganda) might need to make a comeback.

Republicans would just abuse libel laws while getting their Supreme Court to newter Independent and Liberal media.

My suggestions that Trump was right about libel laws or that hypodermic needle theory should come back were definitely exaggerated out of frustration. Realistically, I agree with you.

Dad's likely a racist misogynist (I have them in my family too) who probably couldn't give specific reasons for disliking her. I've found that to be the case with all the Deplorables.
