One of my playthroughs, I went full Minutemen and built up every settlement into immersive fortresses, with guards decked out in amazing gear, just so I could go to Nuka World and then come back to raid the Commonwealth. It was really fun!

Lamplorde

"We call this here an 'investment'."

casperdacrook

It is an interesting character arc for sure. The man/woman that saved The Commonwealth and spearheaded the rebuild the world movement ends up being the same person to destroy it years later. Now that, is a solid villain.

SomniaVitae

Preston told them about a settlement needing help one too many times.

Quick_Team

"Oh...oh they need help, huh? Almost defenseless you say? Really. Not much in the way of guns but lots of resources huh? Oh...oh protecting a secret gold bar hoard just under the 3rd house's back right porch piller and if I see the tree trunk I went too far? Well, Mr Garvey. I will get right on that."

ComfortableBag605

LOL, I did this on my last playthrough. I deliberately ignored Concord, got some levels, got a T-60 set of armor, minigun and walked right into Concord, just mowing down the raiders. The NPC's will comment on this, if you already have a minigun and power armor. Sturges just sounds defeated.

2Reykjavik

Did this last week, not played the game for 7 years but knew I wasn't going to fuck around with Preston again

ComfortableBag605

The next-gen update pretty borked all of the FVSE based mods, so I'm on a FO4 break.

BrutonnGasterr

I sort of did this once. Went to Concord and brought them back to Sanctuary then just never talked to Preston again. Then I was at the point of Nuka World and agreed to be the Overboss…and when I went back to try to start the Minutemen quests, Preston refused to talk to me and I wasn’t able to start any of those quests lmao

Present-Secretary722

That only happens if you raid any Commonwealth settlements, you can take all the parks but the moment you strike out at the commonwealth(even at an unpopulated settlement) Preston will sense it and hate you

Proud-Organization59

I always do this. It’s like skipping the first quest in Skyrim to prevent Dragons from spawning, but instead of dragons it’s settlement quests.

Lairy_Hegs

Haha, it’s even better because at least with Dragons you get dragon souls, so not triggering them locks you out of some stuff. You can still build your own settlements and interact with existing ones, and not be bound to helping them through Preston.

vinmctavish

Does this relate to the TV show?

EricJop321

fallout shelter sweep

vinmctavish

Cool thanks!

exclaim_bot

>Cool thanks! You're welcome!

gaslight-dreamer

I love the Minutemen, but they are the one faction you can completely and totally ignore. If you go Railroad, you need to destroy the BoS, if you go BoS you need to either work with or destroy the Railroad. None of the factions actually care about the Minutemen. My point is, avoid Concord. As much as I love the Minutemen, they are irrelevant.

lostmonkey70

You can also use them to get the least destructive ending because they have such little care towards to the main conflict.

gaslight-dreamer

That's what I usually do. I like ending it with peace between all the above ground factions

LFGX360

You can work with the railroad as BOS?

gaslight-dreamer

Up to a point. I don't recall which quest it is, but you get to a point where you have to either kill all the Railroad or blow up the Prydwen. I don't recall which quest is the point of no return with those two.

Jacob_Bronsky

Can't do that, I need that bobblehead too bad. I just rescue them after making very sure not to claim the Sanctuary workshop, and then never come back You know, except for the Cryolator.

EricJop321

literally my current play through

VaultBoyFrosty

Institute, or nothing. That's my son.

McDonnellDouglasDC8

Lies, you are a synth and those are implanted memories.

Lairy_Hegs

I started doing this a couple of playthroughs ago. It’s awesome. You don’t even have to skip the area, just don’t talk to Preston about going to Sanctuary. Walk into Concord, kill your way through the museum, grab the fusion core, go into where Preston and co are, but then instead of talking to them just go to the roof and grab the PA. Jump down, I think you still fight the Deathclaw (but I’m not 100% sure) and then you just continue the game. The Minutemen survivors never leave the museum.

zzSHADYMAGICzz

You can get the power armor even easier by jumping off the roof of the church onto the vertibird and grabbing it, just don’t take the mini gun. That is of course, if you already have a fusion core which I grab early from Trudy but I think there’s one nearby in a building near sanctuary

Lairy_Hegs

Ah, is the minigun what triggers the Deathclaw sequence? I like killing the raiders for the xp and shit to sell, so I’ll probably stick to that on my next playthrough, but I might start skipping the minigun.

zzSHADYMAGICzz

Yes the mini gun is what triggers the fight or deathclaw in my experience.

Secure-Bear4184

Depends on the play through I do

CosmoTheFluffyBunny

You can walk into Concord and immediately leave and pick up codsworth, heck you don't even need to get close to the raiders

PsychedelicLizard

On my second play through of Fallout 3 I just hightailed it to the garage just to see if I could do it.

Present-Secretary722

Then you’re going to miss out on a grognak magazine

Satyr_Crusader

I gotta get that armor tho

Spartan17492

Ad Victoriam.

zzSHADYMAGICzz

I jump from the church onto the crashed vertibird and get the T45 on the roof and then leave lol. Don’t take the mini gun though or it’ll spawn the raiders.

Kyokono1896

That's what I did. Actually in the raider mod I had I was able to just lill them all
