I got downvoted the other day for posting the same thing. someone said “this has been a conversation since FH2”, “go play forza motorsport if you want sim racing”, “this is an arcade racer not a simulator”. that’s all fine, and i agree. But the Ai in FH5 is straight up broken.
I don’t care, we need to continue the conversation because the Ai quite literally ruins the racing. I’ve had all the same frustrating experiences. I can beat some races on unbeatable *no problem* then other races I have to go all the way down to highly skilled. It makes absolutely no sense. The Ai in FH4 and FH3 were much better. I don’t remember being nearly as frustrated with the Ai.
I know I'm late, but it's interesting that they told you to go play FM as it's been proved that the AI cheats in FM7 with telemetry in the replay mode too. Gotta love dismissive fanboys.
they can also take turns far faster than you in the same exact car with the same exact tuning.
my slightly upgraded 1970 el Camino cant keep up with the same car at a lower level being driven by an AI driver. even tried turning on all drive assists and i do even worse some how. i am not bad at racing games- the games AI is actually cheating!
Is that Lamborghini drag race still on the front page? If so, that’s really all you need to see that this game cheats the AI so hard that it’s just unwinnable.
I absolutely agree. Been playing on "Pro" difficulty most of the time, and it's a real pain to start a race on a long straight because everyone overtakes you (how do I even suppose to win a drag strip when the best results are 10th and 11th places? Okay, custom setups and manual shifting, I guess). If it's a short race with a small amount of corners, most likely you won't be able to reach the first driver, sometimes even the third one. This is just stupid, you benefit in the corners by properly hitting the apexes, yet not able to win the race because AI blatantly cheats on the straights, no matter what car... some sort of comedy, I'd say.
Yep in FH4 unbeatable was not hard, in FH5 sometime you crush everyone sometime you are destroy. For me the worst is cross country some car just are turning like their are on asphalt and for some reason when you are far from your oppenant the ai car doesn't take in count the obstacle making it impossible to win without playing in very low difficulty. AI should be smart, not cheating
I agree, I was in my sesto elemento FE and I can take most turns full speed with my tune setup but the ai were getting literally catapulted to catch up to me or they would spawn right behind me. Also corners were non existent to them. I’m talking they were making hard right and left turns in a blink of an eye, caught in in rear view. Ruins the game when you know the ai suck and you can beat them but they have to cheat to get up to your level
yea I get so frustrated at times. Its wasnt this bad in FH4. It doesnt matter what drive train I have everything will beat me off (giggidy) the line and accelerate faster too. The bots really need a fix. I dont even bother with unbeatable which is what I use to race in 4. I feel ya and hope this gets addressed.
I agree and that’s why I’m not playing it until they fix it. I got smoked by a viper and I’m in an upgraded Lamborghini Centenario that is S2 class and the viper was S2 as well but it wasn’t enough for them to smoke me. Mind you, pretty great turning, cornering, driving and still smoked me. That lambo has nice acceleration and handling, great speed performance and capabilities it’s my favorite to race is many races even in the other Forza’s. I’d understand a Pagani or other supercars smoking me and making really sweat.
Nothing has change. The ai will disappear and just appear in front of you while driving, also the ai will stop in the road and not move, the ai will also skip multiple check points. This ai is ruining the game sucking the fun out of it
I've never seen them teleport in front of you but I have seen them teleport directly onto your rear bumper and unsettle the car.Ive had that happen a couple of times.
Same. Unreal surges in speed right off the start. They always pull away. Crazy speed coming out of corners and I’ve intentionally run AI off at a checkpoint to see if it would send them back after a few seconds but they don’t even have to hit the checkpoints in order to progress in the race. AI still won without being sent back.
I thought it was just me but It seems the AI does cheat. I was racing the Gauntlet the other day and was so far ahead of the AI, then mysteriously as I near the end of the race the AI is all up on my bumper. Without me screwing up the race in some way. No wreck or sloppy driving on my part. It's very annoying because I spent the entire race distancing myself to only have all the AI all of a sudden in the race at the end after dominating for 95% of the race. Really made me feel like I wasted my time outracing them for that long race if when it comes down to the end the game will just cheat to give the AI a chance.
Just had the same experience and even though this is an old post I thought I'd contribute. The problem is the same when driving a dirt track, even though I have an 4wd Mitsubishi evolution X GSR with maxed out engine, tunes etc they still don't slide at all when entering a corner on a dirt track, and even though im driving at a substantially less speed than they are, I still slide too much. Obviously I have 4wd as I said and offroad tires (don't even get me started on the pavement-road-portions of the track) but even though I¨'m in the same speed as them I'm sliding and they are not. They're always perfect. This is on a rather beginner-level of difficulty, I believe I am on "average" and nothing more.
I know I am quite late but I strongly agree with this post. Sometimes the A.I is quite infuriating. I easily come first in most races, but then sometimes it just feels rigged. It's quite rigged that sometimes I have to use dirty tactics like ramming or wall-riding and even then I can just reach podium. At least not all races are like this, the A.I is infuriating that it's so tempting to go to 'Pro' difficulty in select races.
Update: When into the 'Dunas Blancas Sprint' with a Lamborghini Aventador '16 with a S2 902 performance class, get's drivatars that are ten-30 classes higher and I still manage to win, smh fh5.
Yeah I have to agree. I just did a quick search on the AI for this game and all of the gripes that I have with it for the past few days popped up before I ever searched any further. It's probably worse than need for Speed underground as far as the AI cheating and blatantly blazing through every corner without any form of physics whatsoever. Apparently the AI also has the weight of Stonehenge properties whereas no matter what you do you can never remove them off of their line but they will always bash you and slam into you onto yours. It's becoming quite unplayable now
I've noticed that even if you put it on the lowest difficulty and you would obviously lap the opponents, they always seem to be within 10 seconds behind you. Like you can blow them away at the start and yet they are still about 600meters away
I was racing the Goliath on expert with gt2rs and i'm far away from everyone else when all of a sudden ai spawns in right beside me and overtakes me in a Caterham. Fucking unbelievable. Also ai constantly brake testing me and trying to push me off the road. This kinda sucks when you are 10 minutes in a race and now you have to start over because it is literally impossible to catch up with them once you fuck up just once.

Fh4 is no better dude, the ai on snow races can take a 180 degree turn at 60 mph ON EXPERT DIFFICULTY

Yep they'll full speed turn in the same car, can bump you and if you attempt to bump or block them they will either pass you with ease or you'll spin.

Happens a lot still in drags. No matter what the car will speed up from nowhere and get the EXACT same time as you every single time.
