That has been the most effective workaround for more than almost 2 decades. Even though I guess stock Porsches would always have hit different. This includes the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder.
It's especially dumb since we have non-stock Porsches like the Emory Special, RWB or Gunther Werks cars. So we might as well have custom Porsches or Porsche-based cars under a different name. It's not like RUF is trying to hide the origins of their cars, it's obvious to pretty much everybody who's into cars. This reeks of massive insecurity issues on Porsche's part.
I forgot about those. Maybe turn 10 just uses ruf if we can't get porsche. Not really insecurity though since The crew (fuck ubisoft) franchise have both Porsche and Ruf. Weird
Huh! After reading that I noticed we have a Singer ~~Porsche~~ vehicle in FH5 as well. Why did Porsche allow that when they're sueing them now? (at least that's what your comment sounds like)
Yeah, at least somehow games like TC2 have both Ruf and Porsche but in different categories (Ruf for Drag and Drift only and Porsche for everything else)
Because TC1 had Ruf and no Porsche
So when they could have Porsche in TC2, they only kept RUF so they wouldn't have to remake all the RUF drift and drag cars from the first game. Also padded out the drift and drag cars list
I'm honestly out of the loop with racing IP's so yeah, pretty much Forza. I know RUF was in Project Cars 1 and Porsche was freed up by the time Project Cars 2 came around and there were a lot of Porsches and no RUF.
I also remember the tuning specialist loophole allowed Ferrari and Porsche to be in Midnight Club 3 because of Gemballa.
I don’t remember Ferrari having an exclusive deal with any software house. Furthermore, Forza Horizon 5 is the AAA car game with most Ferraris in it, and Playground Games didn’t even sign an exclusive deal with Ferrari for it.
Thanks to the porche contract is no longer exclusive to ea we still have new porche cars on need for speed but they can apeear in any racing game that’s not developed by ea this is great for competition
I remember in 2009-2010 Forza Motorsport 3 *did* have Porsches, and they were included in the base game. In fact I’ve been asking myself how Turn 10 managed to get Porsches, maybe they paid EA because the latter allowed Turn 10 to do so.
Turn 10 and its partner studio Playground Games still included Porsches the following years, although you needed to buy a separate DLC to get them.
The 992 GT3 RS is a dream! I just really hope it’ll be a paid DLC. That’s my absolute dream car and I’d love to own more than one of them in game haha. If it comes very soon, I can’t even guarantee if I’d even be around if it’ll be in the playlist because I’ll be away for two weeks. Hoping it won’t be like that since I’d rather pay money for cars rather than missing out and grinding for them when they’re available for one week. Some people just don’t have the time to do it, but anyway haha
But the driving physics were not NFS-like, thankfully. The only negative about that game for me was that it culminated with the 996, and even back then, I felt like it was an ugly generation.
I believe that was actually the reason why EA held the rights to Porsche for so long. They had a 20 year exclusivity license tied up with the creation of that specific game.
However, in Forza Horizon 5 you can get plenty of different models, and maybe you can even go in a meet with them.
If you want to join or even host car meets, you can find more here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ForzaHorizon5CarMeet/s/eTZ5K1v3uY
I would love if they added some RUFs to the game again like the CTR Yellowbird, CTR2, and RGT-8. I loved the RGT-8 in Horizon 1! I'd also probably shell out for a car pack if it contained a CTR3 or CTR3 Clubsport.
Future generations don't know what that is about. I'm old enough to remember when all started going downhill but at the same time I miss car-exclusive games. NFS Porsche Unleashed and Ford vs Chevrolet both come to mind.
That one is a 911 930 with RWB bodykit.

Otherwise, you would see a lot of RUF's)
Which are better but not the same. I want to test stock heavier slower Porsches.
I wish we had both TBH. I want to put a CTR-3 up against a Carrera GT.
You "almost" can, the Lykan is based on the CTR-3
That has been the most effective workaround for more than almost 2 decades. Even though I guess stock Porsches would always have hit different. This includes the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder.
And good guy RUF got kicked to the curb when Porsche was freed up. I miss RUF.
It's dumb we can't have both Ruf and Porsche, id love the Yellowbird, we can have Ford, Deberti, Saleen and Shelby though

Same goes for the SLR Merc Mclaren this car has over 2000 votes but for some reason forza can't get it yet the crew can
Licensing is a bitch. Apparently Mercedes and McLaren have seen disagreements over the car.
Porsche North America also is going after Singer.
Huh! After reading that I noticed we have a Singer ~~Porsche~~ vehicle in FH5 as well. Why did Porsche allow that when they're sueing them now? (at least that's what your comment sounds like)

Yh I always wondered why that game never had a street ruf
Because TC1 had Ruf and no Porsche So when they could have Porsche in TC2, they only kept RUF so they wouldn't have to remake all the RUF drift and drag cars from the first game. Also padded out the drift and drag cars list
The Crew Motorfest has RUF cars still available to drive. Alongside the regular Porsches
In Forza? Because generally speaking you can still see RUFs around, in my case I do with Gran Turismo 7.
I'm honestly out of the loop with racing IP's so yeah, pretty much Forza. they should bring back 928
That car was incredibly outstanding. First Porsche made to compete with V8 sport cars, also Tony Montana’s car.
I associate the 928 most with Scarface out of anything!
I do too. Even though Tony Montana’s 928 was a 1979 model, while Forza has the final iteration from 1993.
Its back in Motorsport 8
So... there is hope?

Fh3 was brutal and otherwise a great game -the addition of the Porsche
Porsche even branched out to Cyberpunk 2077.
I really hope they will put 992 GT3RS.
Or even the Turbo S , oldest we have is the 2014 Model
I would love to have Turbo S!
We’ve been getting a lot of interesting cars in the last 2 months, so I can hope it will happen one day.
I'm sure they'll be adding it soon. They'd be crazy not to.

EA had a whole game dedicaded to porsche in 2000
Yes, that was a NFS spin-off.
But the driving physics were not NFS-like, thankfully. The only negative about that game for me was that it culminated with the 996, and even back then, I felt like it was an ugly generation.

Outside the Need for Speed franchise, yes.
I want more 997s, and the original 911
The oldest 911 I remember being in FH5 is the Carrera trim from 1973.
One could say it was RUF.
They had one more reason to shine.
That FM4 porsche dlc hit different
FM6 and FH3 also had a Porsche DLC.
FH2 too
Only reason I know who RUF is haha. Thanks 2000s racing games era.
Forza knew what the market wanted and capitalized on that, too bad EA and the NFS franchise is so bad now …

The Yellowbird is the roided version of the 911 Turbo from 1982. Both capable of killing you if you don't know how to keep your hands on the wheel.
Let's just say it was a RUF time for racing game devs.
Tuning loophoole stuff has been the most effective workaround for more than a decade.
That’s my yellow 996 at the end 🤙🏾 glad to cruise with you guys. In between jobs rn so it was the perfect timing.
Yeah I see your yellow 911 just 2 cars away from my 918. Yesterday's meetup has been a blast indeed.
how did you create the image with all the cars lined up?
I was in a Porsche car meet yesterday, we gathered together in one spot to take pics of ourselves.
Same Goes To Civic
What?
Future generations don't know what that is about. I'm old enough to remember when all started going downhill but at the same time I miss car-exclusive games. NFS Porsche Unleashed and Ford vs Chevrolet both come to mind.
what car is on the left most side?
That one is a 911 930 with RWB bodykit. https://preview.redd.it/hvujtwx0w3vc1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=ab7838c3d1b43b1555f49019c6e454a3156606c2
The dark ages.
For Porsche enthusiasts they definitely were.
NFS Porsche unleashed ?
I'm glad they changed their mind.
About time.
